Thanks. Unfortunately no joy with that solution. We are changing the file format in all cameras as MTS appears to be lower quality than the MP4 or MOV options anyway.

Since it has worked before and you have a video camera that records at a constant frame rate i would avoid transcoding the original footage for now.

One thing that can happen that gives the issue you have is that one import the footage and start to use it directly while Premiere Pro still conforms the audio. If you import the footage and starts to use the files before Premiere Pro has finished conforming the audio do too often goes out of sync.

To solve it:

Delete the Media Cache and the Media Cache Database: How to clear the Media Cache in Premiere Pro (adobe.com)

When you open the project again, dont do anything until Premiere Pro has finished conforming the footage. Look at the blue progress bar down right in the UI. The same if you import new footage, dont do anything until Premiere Pro has finished conforming the footage. In theory it should not matter but in real life it does matter.

Try and report back! 🙂

I deleted the media cache but also used another method and saved as .mov and PCM and fingers crossed that seems to have worked and im able to sync to another clip.

MTS is just a wrapper just as MOV or MP4.

So what was the fix? You changed the file format in camera? I am an HMC-150 user and just noticed that my audio is off by . 39 seconds when imported into premiere pro. Very annoying ha.

Yes changed file format in the camera from MTS to MP4 or MOV whichever was the highest quality option. Are your cameras saving as MTS file format? One of our cameras is unable to be changed to MP4 or MOV so guess we will see what happens when its used next.

Yeah my camera is saving as .mts. Unfortunately, there is no option to change the format in camera (Panasonic HMC-150). My two options that I have discovered are

1.) exporting them as .MOV files in quicktime ( might be losing some quality)

2.) manually syncing the audio .39 seconds late from the clip in the premiere timeline ( pain in the butt ).

I have exported the files to .mov and made sure they are decent sizes. Takes a while and is a pain but at least can sync them to another camera now.
