I've got an odd and very specific issue that I have spent hours trying to isolate. I'm very experienced with Premiere, and am cutting a documentary series with a small team. We're using Premiere Productions, and all our media is Prores proxies residing on a NAS.
I hit what seems like the same issue twice. The first time, last week, while rendering out a timeline, Premiere and Me would always hang at the same part of the timeline - the multicam under the red marker in the screenshot below. The export would simply stop, and only force quitting either application was the way out. After hours of testing, I found that deleting the multicam audio circled in yellow (yes, it's disabled) allows the export to continue.
Then, yesterday, while playing back a multicam in another timeline entirely, Premiere's Program monitor & audio VU monitors would freeze at a certain point in the same multicam. Force quitting was the only way out of that issue. Flatting the multicam and playing the source clip results in the same issue. However, playing the source clip and the multicam in the Source window works fine, so it does have something to do with the timeline.
This timeline is much longer, so as far as I got was to confirm that removing all audio prior to the problematic point in the timeline on audio tracks A6 and beyond solved the issue, so it seems very similar to the render problem the week before.
Machines I've tested this on are an iMac Pro, a 2019 Mac Pro, and a Mac Studio, all with the latest versions of MacOS installed & Premiere Pro. I'd also tested this with an earlier version of Premiere.
