PP 2019.1.5 - I've set both Media Cache Files folder & Media Cache Database folder to be on disk F, see picture (with no project loaded), then quit PP, deleted the two old corresponding folders on disk C (system).
When I loaded an existing project:
- New Media Cache Files folder was created on disk C with 326 files
- New Media Cache Files folder was created on disk F with 1 file
- New Media Cache folder was created on F disk.
So, why does PP still use disk C for Media Cache Files?
Response receive from Karl Lee Soule:
Long story – there’s a specific type of small cache file that ALWAYS gets written to the default location. They’re called IMS files, and they greatly speed up load times for projects. They’re REALLY small – usually measured by the os in bytes or 1kb.
Thank you Karl!
