Premiere export stuck at 48% Can I cancel the export and keep the progress?

I'm trying to export a dance show of around 1hr 40mins (4k) but the export is 'stuck' at 48% (although task manager shows viable activity on the GPU e.g regularly peaks like its processing frames). I was trying to use PP's 'smart rendering' however the render files seem to dissappear randonly so I'm now trying to render the whole thing. Can I stop the export now? Or will progress be lost?

I should mention that although some H265 files from a Canon R5 & Nikon Z6 (via Ninja V) were crashing Premiere I have since transcoded them to Prores 422 and the system seems happy with the footage.

If you stop the export, then your export progress will be lost. Period.
