With the latest 2017 release of Premiere (2017 Premiere 11.0.0, Tang), it seems that the new release cannot import m4a (MPEG 4) files. Has anyone resolved this issue? All previous versions worked without issue on import.
The hardware info is irrelevant (as this is most certainly a software issue), however to placate folks who seem to have issues, machine is Dell 7910 Workstation, 128GB DR4 mem, dual NVidia Quadro 6000's with 24GB each, dual quad Intel I7 processors.
Adobe encourages updating to latest, but perhaps it would be best if they QA the products first.
Any resolution would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you Vidya.
I had to delete both the active cache files (custom location) and the original files under the C:\User paradigm. Before I submitted the above question, I had indeed deleted my cache files from their customer location, but had not deleted the originals.
All new and existing projects that contain MPEG 4 files now work.
