Since updating Premiere Pro I have experienced pervasive glitching and full CPU crash. I have cleared media cache but the issue remains. I see others have had similar issues as recently as last month. Has anyone found a fix?

Change the GPU acceleration Mercury Playback Engine to another one in menu File / Project Settings / General...  Try with another that you don't have current set.

If you have Mac High Sierra means that you haven't got a new Mac, you have to tell us detailed tech specs to try to understand in a global way the issue.

Sorry about that. Its my first time posting so please forgive my Noobness.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory 16Gb 1600mhz ddr3

Im running Premier Pro version 14.0.0

I have cleared the Media Cache and reset plugins and preferences.

Everything seems normal until I go to drop footage into the timeline. Then I get the "pinwheel of death" which actually stops spining after a second and the entire machine freezes and I am unable to do anything (even pull up task manager, let alone force quit) until I hard reset the laptop.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Id happily provide any other info I might be missing.

Thanks!
