I recorded myself playing a game on my PC in AVI format. In my windows explorer, it says my video is 24 minutes, which is correct. However, when I import this video to Premiere, it is only 2 minutes and 55 seconds long, even when I drag it into the timeline and try to expand it. Where is the rest of the video?
If the game capture app uses Variable Frame Rate, Premiere does not work well with that. Right-click the .avi in Project panel and hit Properties - what does it say for frame rate?
Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I believe the app does use variable framerate. When I clicked properties, my frame rate was showing as 60fps.
To be honest, I don't think I ever hit 60fps when playing either.

It turns out I can change the apps settings so it records at a constant frame rate.
Thanks!

Most likely the avi contains a codec Premiere does not like or might need to install a codec such as mjpeg.
Post screenshot of the clip in MediaInfo in treeview here on the forum.

Here's that screenshot you wanted. If you are correct about what is happening, is there a fix?

I would have preferred the tree view.
Not sure as is just says jpeg and not mjpeg.
Might want to try this:

Thanks, I'll give this a try.
Also, apologies for not using treeview. I'm new on adobe and I'm unsure of what treeview even is.
Cheers

The tree view is the one for MediaInfo. Click under the View in the Menu, then click on "Tree".
