Saved files create Photoshop icon links

Hey guys,

This is a weird issue i'm having on my PC, Windows 10, Premiere Pro CC 2017. When ever I save a file it creates a Photoshop icon within that file structure that links to Photoshop instead of Premiere Pro. I can choose to open with Premiere Pro but it does not change the issue, forcing me to choose Premiere Pro each time instead of just being able to click on the icon.

It's not the most inconvenient thing in the world, but it is weird and was wondering if anyone else had this issue and if so what the fix might be? Also, it's just nice to see the icon of the file you need and go to it without trying to guess if it's the right file or not.

Thanks guys,

Austyn

Hi Austynf,

Please change the "Associate a File type with a program" for .prproj file to Premiere Pro.

Instructions:

In Control Panel > Click on Programs > click on Make file type always open in a specific program > change the program from      Photoshop to Premiere Pro.

     Check the .prproj file icon.

If issue persists, uninstall & reinstall Premiere Pro.

Thanks,

Vidya Sagar.
