selected clip changes

when i move my timeline indicator the selected clip changes. This is annoying. It didn't do this before the last update. How do I change this annoyance?

Go to the Sequence Menu and toggle off (uncheck) Selection Follows Playhead:

Thanks, may I ask one more question here? I would love it if I when I trim a clip (dragging that front of the clip with the red E looking cursor) I could see the clip I'm trimming as I'm trimming it, even when there's clips above it. So, when I'm dragging V1 on the sequence I can see V1 in the Program window, not V2. How may I set it so it just does that, so I don't have to manually hide all the above clips. For some reason right now, when I drag a clip's end on V1 to the right the Program windows split screen and the right side scrubs the top most V (in my case V5) and the left side shows where the top clip was when the trim started on V1.
