Working with mixed Frame Rates in Premiere Pro CC

Hi

I have some different stock footage clips I'm going to be editing together in either Premier Pro or Photoshop. Some of them are 29.97fps and some 23.98fps.  I'd like the final footage to be 23.98 because it's going to be web video.

How do I about this?  If i set the overall fps to be 23.98, surely this is going to cause jumping in the 29.97fps video because some frames will have to sacrificed - is there a setting or best practice technique for doing this?

I'm relatively new to video so any assistance or advice would be amazing.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums.

How do I about this?

You can mix clips with different frame rates, frame aspect ratios, and frame sizes in the same sequence. Please check this link & search for "Mixing clip types in a sequence": Add clips to Premiere Pro sequences

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks,

Kulpreet Singh

OK thanks Kulpreet.  If I do this in Photoshop will this also default to the chosen fps as well? I've heard that if you mix fps when editing the quality will suffer because frames have to be removed?

Paul.
