OS 10.13.6 CC2019 14.0.2 I'm editing an existing text box within the document and it's re-setting the baseline each time. If I try to copy/paste said text box without editing it, the entire line re-sets. See grabs below. The document was working fine yesterday after creating it from an idml file. So I have read through numerous threads now and have been having this issue since CC2017. I have just spent the whole of yesterday recreating artwork in CC2019 from an idml file in order to hopefully correct this issue. Yesterday my file was working fine and I could edit text boxes with no problem - Baseline Options were working perfectly. I've opened up the same document today and now the text boxes are defaulting again!!! I have no idea what is going on. Please can someone advise. I have spent hundreds of pounds of studio time correcting and re-correcting my projects yet still facing this problem and am now on a deadline for a very important client. This is a total shambles. This is an ongoing problem for me. The comments have been switched off in one of the other threads so I cannot contribute there, so this thread is my best hope. I had this problem with InDesign 2017 and had to manually reset all Text Frame Options in the text boxes in a client's template. I was told the 2018 fix would resolve this issue. It did not. I upgraded to 2019 last week and now all the text frame options have re-set again!!! Myself and my team have now spent the last two hours re-adjusting a client's files that were already approved because hyphenation and Baseline Options had reset YET AGAIN. What is going on? My client has supplied templates which were created in Germany and I am opening here in the UK. No other ID templates I work with cause this problem, just this particular client and this particular set of templates. The Nik Google plug-in was installed some time ago, but why would it affect Id if it's not part of the programme? Id 2019 was comparably slow which is why I uninstalled it as well and reverted to 2018. It wouldn't explain why all 3 updates were behaving in the same way, would it? ... View more

System info for you below but it's worth noting that ALL the CC2019 updates were responding in the same way, not just Photoshop. Id, Ps and Ai all showed massive delays and spinning beach balls in the most basic of actions, hence uninstalling and reverting back to previous versions. And why did my custom settings default when I reinstalled older versions? Additionally, and most frustratingly, all my files had to be re-converted when I reopened them in the older programmes. It really has been a mess of issues. Illustrator 2019 is the only software that I have taken a gamble on and updated. Despite reverting back I am still finding on occasion that all CC software hits a sluggish, unresponsive point and I have to quit and restart to improve performance. And with all due respect, but where do I find the time to bench-test your product in the ways you're asking us to when I have client deadlines to deal with and I'm already trying to fix problems you've given us by releasing software that clearly has problems for a number of us users? I've reinstalled earlier versions and am now running Illustrator 2019, InDesign 2018 and Photoshop 2017. Ridiculously this combination is currently the most stable for me, although I still have to quit apps every now and then because they act up in the normal Adobe fashion. This begs the question, exactly what am I paying my subscription for if I can't use the updates? I wonder what my consumer rights are in this current situation. This is the only solution I have found so far. Our agency environment cannot currently afford to operate under these conditions and it's too risky for the business to be dealing with the problems surrounding this upgrade. Thanks, Steve, but I updated yesterday and it's not made the slightest difference in fact, most of my problems re. spinning beach balls have only started occurring today. I had issues yesterday which were resolved by quitting my browser (how that's going to work seeing as I have to be connected to my client's Google Drive, I'll never know) and I thought the update would resolve those issues (which it didn't) but I've now encountered a whole new issue with this lag problem. Same problem for me. Upgraded to CC2019 a couple of days ago on my iMac and I've spent more time watching 'Type Rendering' progress bars and spinning beachballs than I care to mention. I am uninstalling and reinstalling 2017 now. There's no point using flashy, new updates if I can't work efficiently. What a waste of time. There should be a minimum performance warning every time they release a major update. We've run checks and double-checks and there are no issues with the network plus, our server is macOS and has been for the last 15+ years. We did upgrade to High Sierra server OS before Christmas but the issues we encounter with CC products has always been a constant but they've increased since 2017/2018. We had no problems before Adobe products were cloud-based and, as mentioned, every other product we use, from Microsoft through to Quark and other third-party products, are fine.
