Compression like h264 is not staight compressed 25fps string of still images put together. It uses complicated algorithms to "figure out" what is happening in your video between keyframes, also h264 codec figures out what happens in each frame and compresses stationary parts of video (static backgrounds, flat survaces etc) more than parts where there is a movement. So long storry short - quite complicated process. Then you are taking that heavelly compressed by compicated algorithms file and put it to After Effects - fairly complicated tool with its own compicated tools and algorithms. You put effects on it, overlays, mattes, color corrections etc. and as a final you tell your good old CPU to figureout what is happening with that original file made with h264 (as I said - bunch of compression and computing power neded to do that) then your CPU have to put all of those comlicated effects that you used on your file and then merge those together to give you final file - in most cases also compressed with h264 so another layer of comlicated match algorithms and "figureing out" for your CPU to do. So long storry short - there is many places that many things can go wrong. So rule for working with AE is simpe (and most of the beginners and even intermediate users does not do that): - always make life easier for your CPU! What that mean? Give iu source files as simple to read as possible so for audio - wave not mp3 and for video files made with good intermediate codecs and no heavelly compressed mp4s.

That is not a software issue but - in most cases - codec issue. So first try those steps: Resolution for an issue where green, purple, or pink haze appears in the Source or Program monitors, or the exported fil… If that will not help try to convert any two of your files into good intermediate codec (f. eg. mov/animation, DNxHD, ProRes, cineform) and then try to merge your new files together. Do you use Add to Render Queue or Add to AME queue for rendering. If you use AMe - try to render in AE. You can also try to use different codec f. eg. ProRes, Cineform, DNxHD.

I'm guessing that those notes are moving as sound is paying. So if tyhat is the case I would try to track mask (Using the After Effects Mask Tracker) and effect to mask or use built in Mocha planar tracker (New: Mocha AE CC in Adobe After Effects 2019 - YouTube ).

Harold gave you quite good ecplonation how to do what you need. There is aof course several techniques how to dpo that but this one is good enough. As we understood you have to put video on some kind of 3D (semi 3D) generated flag ... and the best way that will give you best results would be to generate your flag by yourseve and put your video on it the same way that you used your orginal flag image. And here all depends on what kind of video it is and what is the final effect that you need to achieve you can use: track matte, channels, masks etc. If there is some exact flag that you wish to project on - you have to show us oir expain what you wish to achieve.

It is not like you can't make longer compositions - you can, but AE is more suitable for shorter single compositions and for sure that slider that you were talking about is not the best tool for precise timeline zooming.

Yes you are right - if something is not working or working wrong - should be fixed but as Szalam already explained it to you - you are not using it in correct maner or to be more specific - there are better tool to do what you wish to do. I don't wanna to sound snarky but before you start asking developers to change how tool that you are using to change something it is better to learn basics of that software and how it works. AE is a software for shorter forms and 15-16 minutes is just length that is really long as a one sequence so zoom tool have large zoom steps than if you for exampe used it in 10-15 seconds sequence. And to be honnest really not to many people uses that zoom slider - most of us uses: + and - on your keyboard or Alt and scrool on your mouse

If you are AE beginner it would be really helpfull for you to learn AE basics (you can start here: After Effects tutorials | Learn how to use After Effects CC.​ Without that it will be really hard to use AE because without basic knowledge and basic AE technical vocabulary you don't even know how to name and how to find what you wish to do.

So to clarify your issue and to add what Rick said. 1. put your clip into Adobe Media Encoder 2. convert your video into good intermediate codec (mov/animation, prores, cineform) 3. put your converted footage into AE And now - it footage is ok just work on your project and in the future just start with converting your files to mentioned codecs - that will prevent any render issues and glitches and will be less labor intensive for your CPU to playback those intermediate codecs. But if you see those glitches in newly converted files in AE and in any other player that mean that you have many dropped frames in your footages or corrupted file (that happens sometimes in camcoders, phone videos etc. and more than often while screengrabbing a gameplay wiht some free screen capture software) and there is nothing that you can do than make a fresh recording.

To do that you have to track your shot. And you can use good old AE point tracker or 3D camera tracker. Just track your shot, attach your data to tracking points of your choosing and - depend on your shot - everything should work perfect. As for that line tracking a ball - that is just animated patch in 3D space - also quite basic. I see that it is some kind of screen grab of a gameplay so maby that is a codec/gpu issue (many screen grabbers have not to good compressions) . If you did what OussKrecommended and it did not help I would: - put my video files into media converter (you can use Media Encoder) - convert your video files using decent intermediate codec (mov/animation, prores, cineform etc.) - use those converted files in AE

GIF is a graphic file not video/movie file and AE is not the best tool to export that but if you wish to do that straight from AE - you have to use script called GifGun. I you don't wanna spend money on that - you have to: - export your animation to image sequence with alpha channel - open that in PS - export to GIF by going to File/Export/Save for web But you have to remember that GIF don't have actually real alpha as f.eg. png. As for small in size animated stuff with alpha - you can try to experiment with animated webp format.

As usual there is always more than one way to achieve somethong in After Effects but if you need short one line answers on your questions I would say: 1) by using free plugin from VC called Saber 2) by using one of many particle emitter f. eg. 3rd party plugin called Particular That does not mean that those are the only ways. You have to read up more about file formats and codecs. Mov file is just a format and you can use and set many codecs in many configurations and they will give you different sizes and different quality. By saying I made a mov file it is something like saying I have a car - there can be many kinds of cars, many manufacturers and many models and inside those models several versions of each. So first maby tell us how good do you know After Effects, and what is the purpose of your animation - youtube, website maby a led screen banner or maby a TV spot? Then maby we wil be able to point you in the riht codec/format config.

No. I think no one forgot to ask that question - to be honnest that was first thing that I thougt about reading that post but many many times we try to answer question that was never asked and many times I see that it is less than apreciated (last example would be a discution from 2 or 3 days here on green background and roto) so I figure - it is better to just answer what I'm being asked. And not so long time ago we both were answering similar question Exporting large files in AE and it is not so hard to find it for someone who is looking for - so why to repeat oiurselves almost daily.

As for h265 you are right - there is restriction. As for h264 it renders correctly but - it don't wanna play in VLC - i don't know how it works with windows media player because I last used that clunky piece of software several years ago and it is not my favor - i use dayli payer called Media Player Classic (MPC-HC) and I never had any issues with that one and I just rendered short file to your resolution and it played smootgly in MPC so my advice would be to use that one.

Rendering through Dynamic Link in AME or rendering in AE to intermediate codec (or image squence) and then rerender in AMe are the way to go. And h264 and h265 is capable of rendering file of that size - only thing you have to do (if it not let you now) is to change profile level to unrestricted (for h264) or (as for h265) higher than you have.

You have two avenues that you can take to recreate that kind of dust animation: a) record good quality footage of that dust effect and use it in your composition b) find stock footage of dust and just composite it with your droping down layer - that is simpler to set up in most cases and simpler to render but it can be hard to find correct goog looking dust footage b) create that kind of dust in for example using built in AE effects or with - most popolar - Particular plugin - that is much harder to do (configure plugins in the way that will generate good looking dust effect) and much harder for your cou to render

After Effects, Premiere Pro and Media Encoder works only with each other when they're from the same release. F.eg. newest AE and PPro from december 2018 release will work with and connect to nothing else than AME form the same december release. If And with older versions is the same - older PPro 2014 will work only with AME 2014 so that is why you are getting errors trying to export from PPro 2014 withhout having AME 2014 installed. As for "updating older AME and not just installing newer version it should ask you during instalation do you wish to update or leave older version and just instal newer one and probably that happened, you let CC installer "update your AME". And now for the most important thing for you - that mean finding older version of AMe - I don't have to goog information for you. Last yera Adobe removed older versions of its products so it is impossible. More on that you can find here: Prior major releases of Premiere, Audition, Prelude and AME have been removed

To answer you we need more info about your project. What exactly you are doing: - do you use a video footahe - if yes what resolution, what codec and format - do you use graphics/images/photos - if yes - what resolution are they - what are your workstation specification (ram, cpu, gpu, hdd/ssd) - what is the resolution of your composition That will hel pus determine if it is even possible for you to work faster in AE using what you have in the way that you using it. Then we need to know what effects/plugins and or presets you are using on those leyers - that will tell us if they are being supported by GPU rendering or not. But you have to remember that AE is not a realtime playback editing tool. So for better preview experience with AE you should read more about ram previewing etc. Preview without rendering in After Effects
