I think that OussK is closer with his comment to what you are experiencing. Your issue seems to be more because of file restrictions, drive permissions ora naming/filepath conflict than with formats and codecs. So please let us know what kind of import methot you are using: draging in files, double tap on projecy panel or just file>import - first one (draging in) will not work if you work on Windows and your AE is opened with admin privileges Check if your drives have no  restricted access in some way Also try to put your audio file into shortest file path possible (f. eg.  D:\mymp3.mp3)  and check and change name of your mp3 to something shorter and without any special symbols (letters with apostrophes language specific letters etc.) and then try to import by going to File>import Let us know if any of those helped. ... Ok so my advice would be - and remember I did not see how that glitch look like because you removed your video - to take your video file (I'm guessing it is mp4) put it to adobe media encoder or any other decent file converter and convert your mp4 to some good intermediate codec like mov/animation, cineform or prores and use that file instead of your mp4 files. ... Ok so if those are different compositions that probably is issue with your composition not with AE. And knowing that: - to be honnest I don't know any default effect called forshadow so pease clarify where you found it - corrupted file mean corrupted file - enough for playback but currupted in way that gives CPU trouble when it have to crecount with operations that you made on that files in AE - and we still does not know on what files you are working - are they just AE solids, images/graphics or videos and what formats/codecs they are made with - you are saying that you changed frames - what do you mean? You say there is only a lens flare, but: - is this a built in lens flare effect or is this a third party plugin (if Yes - which one) - you say you used only a lens flare but on what? Ok... so If you say that AE worked for a month and now it stoppes on one frames. But are you saying that AE was rendering the same composition for a month without any issues and now on the same composition (without any changes) it stops on one frames and hangs render? If that is the case - there probably is some issue with some changes that happened in AE (update) or your hardware/os (update, new codecs installed, drivers compatibility etc.). But if your story is more like: I was using AE for a month doing and rendering several animations and now on the last one - render stoppes and can't continue. Then there is almost 100% probability that it is not your os, not your hardware, not AE but there is something wrong with your composition. What can be the issue? Yes. After Effects is pixels not vectors but - After Effects can view and render vectors as vectors jou just have to know how. F.eg. - by zooming in preview - as you did - AE behave as PS - it wil show bigger pixels. - but when you make your font or shape or vector files (here you have to remembet to turn on continous rasterization on that layer ) you can scale it up as you wish and it will behave as vector. So zooming in preview window is nothing else like looking on a photo/print through magnifying glass, but scalling up your vector layers is just like in Ai lossless. Let's clarify: a) effects and presets are two different things and as Rick said - there is no Barn Doors effect in AE, but there is a Barn Doors Preset and that is what you are applying. That is important because Effetc is an effect generating plug-in, Preset is nothing more that one of several effects pre -set to do what someone who designed it wanted.. b) and also as Rick said you can apply that preset only onto layer not on a composition that you are in. On your screens you applied that preset to boith layers and it should show them in the same way. What is happening on your second screen - I'm not sure. c) as for changing center point of that transition you have to change those expressions and that parametr in them that number is a percentrageof where that effect go to. First as Doc Maik mentioned - it is hard to believe that they are using one clip/one signal - prepared as you describing - and feed that to stadium banner. I worked with those kinds of screens and setups as a technician and I also delivered footage for them several times and I never seen delivery method like that. So first thing I would do if I would be you - I would contact tech that is responsible for that banner or company that put that system there and ask for exact specs that they use. In post cases they use pixelmaps that fit into standard resolutions (full HD/4K) so you prepare final product as that pixel map and then delivery system that they use split and deliver exact sections to exact parts of that banner. Bellow example of a pixelmap of gate like screen setup that I worked on several weeks ago: - animation was one large projection around and inside of that cube but what I was delivering to client was this (2 full HD movie clips): But let say that you have to export file with specs that you mentionned so AE can and will make that lower res for you without any issues, but as for larger one AE is restricted to - as you said - 30K px. If you don't have a time to fiddle with that issue just render your AE composition straight from AE (Composition>Add to render queue...) to intermediate codec and then reencode it in AME. Not truth. 250 GB is not so big as you think. You are right that you don't have to use 1TB for OS but 250 can become crowdy really soon. In my case on one of my workstatyons I have 250 for OS and with only necessery programs (from Adobe only AE, PPro, Ai and PS) and several from other vendors and now - only 20 something Gb of free space avaliable. All depends on how good specs of your workstation are ... but lets say that you have best of the best CPU and RAM and decent GPU (that is not so important) and your rendering technique is using 90%-100%m of those resources during render then I would: - keep my Adobe software on the same SSD as operating system - use separate SSD for cache - use separate drive dor input files and separate for final renders And now if you have unlimited money resources - I would make all of those drives a good quality and fast SSD drives. But if you have to find a golden mean - all depends on what kind of work you do. For example: a) if in your AE work you use severa high resolution raw video files and you put them throu heavy modifications using AE effects that mean that you need a quick and effective access to your source footages and your CPU will render them resonably slow so you have to put your sources into SSD (for quick access) and renders to HDD (because it renders frames so slow that your HDD will save them without any issues and slowdowns b) if you use simpe graphics or even not to many video footages and you are sure that your CPU will render final frames really fast - then put sources on HDD and finals to SSD because if render goes fast the output drive is always a bottleneck so you have to make sure that bottleneck is as large (SSD always win on that front) as it is possible. ...
