Lightroom, now called Lightroom Classic, does not store images in the catalog. Most likely the photos were lost on the damaged drive, unless you had a backup of that drive. The catalog you saved to a thumbdrive does not have the photos, but it may have preview images. Here's some documentation that explains how to export the previews from the catalog. Pay attention to where the photos get copied to during the import. Then look in that folder after the import. You will find them there. The recent import collection may not be working as expected for you. I don't know why. However, most likely there is no actual problem with the import.

Instead of selecting the recent imported collection, look in the folder they were copied to and imported from. Your first screen shot shows that the images were copied to the H-drive in the 2023 folder. Open the 2023 folder and find the date of the images. They should be there.

It's hard to follow what you are describing. Can share some screen captures? What does the folder look like in the LrC Library view? Is it possible the view is being filtered? Where are you seeing only 8 images?

This information may fix the problem with OneDrive https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/allow-permissions.html If not, change the permissions with the Finder. Select the OneDrive folder, and do a Command-I. This brings up the permissions panel. It should say read/write permission at the bottom of the panel.

Looks like you are copying the files to a OneDrive folder. Check the permissions for OneDrive and make sure you have write access.

Easter is just around the corner, so this seemed like an obvious edit. I'm glad a grabbed a screen shot before hitting send, because it appears that I broke the remix AGAIN... ARGH. The "Edit is still processing" screen will stay that way forever, until I give up and delete it.

It is not possible to keep photos on a local drive INSTEAD of the cloud. The local drive is merely a snyced local backup of the cloud. If you see your photos when you log into Lightroom online at lightroom.adobe.com you should be able to rebuild the previews in the Lightroom app. You may need to uninstal and reinstal the app. I asked this question previously, can you see the images with a browser? Your answer to this question will determine what you should do next.

Are you sure the past wraps were designed with Photoshop. I designed a lot of vehicle wraps in the past, and I always used Illustrator. All text, logos, and graphics were created as vector in Illustrator. Photoshop was used for images only.

Since you have a Mac are you using Time Machine to backup your computer? If so, you can retrieve your catalog from just before it got corrupted.

Actually a TIFF is better. TIFF files are better for printing anyway. You can save it with LZW compression and there won't be any noticable degredation.

Are you signed in with the Creative Cloud desktop app? Open Creative Cloud and click on your avatar in the upper right corner. Click on Adobe Account to view your account with a browser. Does it show that your account is active and Lightroom Classic is included? This is what my account looks like.

If your photos are synced to the Photos app you may be able to import directly from your phone into Lightroom Classic. Plug your phone into your iMac with a USB cable and see if it shows up in LrC. It works for me. The most important thing to understand is that whatever method you use, the photos have to be on a local hard drive before they can be imported to LrC. If you import directly from your phone, the images will first copy to the computer. By default, they are copied to the Pictures folder.

First, you need to get your photos out of the Photos app and into a folder on a local hard drive. The best option is probably to Export from the Photos app. If there are lots of images, and if the images are stored in iCloud, it could take a long time for the export. After the photos are in a local folder you can import them into Lightroom Classic. Make sure to use the Import Add method so that the photos don't get moved to someplace else during the import.
