The MacBooks that you are referring to actually do have an Intel card. These have dual graphics card and the bug surfaces when it switches to the low powered card. Illustrator does not need a Graphics card to run so it will continue to run even when you have a graphics that is not compatible. It is just the GPU will be disabled. We have some good news and progress to share. NVIDIA has been able to reproduce and fix the issue. They are currently working on a fix to be available in the next NVIDIA driver posting. UPDATE: We have confirmation from NVidia that this issue is fixed in GeForce series driver version 388.31 released on 15-Nov-2017. We had changed the behavior based on user feedback that the last exported location is being reset on file open. The complaint looked valid hence we changed the behavior to ensure last exported location is always sticky. This, however, has disturbed workflows of users who had adapted to the earlier limitation. We are looking to solve this by making export location stick with every file. Here is an illustrative example of what will happen once this is fixed. 1. Open file A – when you click on export since this is the first time export is attempted it will open the folder from which the file was opened. Now change the folder for export and export as you would normally do. 2. Open file B – when you click on export since this is the first time export is attempted it will open the folder from which the file was opened. Now change the folder for export and export as you would normally do. 3. Now if you come back to File A and export again it will show you folder chosen for File A and not File B. as we would make last export folder stick for each file. you should be able to work inside of Illustrator even on a machine with a non-supported GPU. Just turn off GPU on your machine by clicking on the Rocketship icon on the top. We do have our checks before we enable GPU on the machine. Can you please share contents of Help menu>System info for us to analyze what may be going on your machine. ... View more
