If you move the start point you will also need to move the end point of your text in order to stop it from disappearing. On your example video I can see the end point sitting on the horizon line. You're losing the whole word when it gets too close to that line. So move that one around and the text should reappear. ... View more

PS generally remembers the last format you saved with, so if you save something as a jpg the next image you open a file, work on and save should also be saving as a jpg. Provided you are only working on a single layer. If you add layers it will default to psd. One option you have is to set up the Export option under preferences to save as a jpg. Place your lines with an additional line at the top and bottom of the page if necessary. Choose Align to Selection and the lines will be distributed evenly down the page when you then choose Distribute Vertical Centres. You can then do the same thing with your dates, also selecting the additional lines at the top and bottom of the page. You can then move them as a group to the point where you want them.
