You must have misunderstood. Applications don't "rewrite the OS kernel" or anything like that. I'm a former Mac Genius and this is not an application problem. You either have other software that DOES runs a kernel extension (hard drive software, anti-virus, whatever) or you have bad hardware. RAM speed doesn't cause crashes. Computers have a RAM spec and there is always a range of RAM with slightly different speeds that is compatible. You wouldn't ever know the difference. Since this doesn't happen to other people, there is something about your system that is different. Try removing any third-party software that might be causing the problem and see if that makes a difference. If not, its bad hardware.

You'll have to wait until it times out and Bridge removes the folder. Bridge is trying to connect and it no longer exists.

Bridge does not change file dimensions. And you can't open files in Bridge, you can only view them in the Bridge browser. What does Photoshop show as the dimensions when you open it there? Have you gone back to C1 to see if you mixed up your dimensions?

You realize that we are users just like you? All you are doing is raising your blood pressure. Adobe knows about the problem. They are working on it. I'm not sure what other answer we can give you.

Sounds like a hardware or system problem. A Kernel bad address is low-level, not something an application would cause. I'd do a clean install of macOS and run memtest to make sure your RAM is ok.

You don't want to make changes anyway, it will just confuse Photos. I doubt you'll see Bridge get support for iCloud libraries.

Basically, it depends. Different platforms and different filetypes have different capabilities. Your IT people should find a program (Bridge or whatever) and train the users to do searches. That's the solution.

You need to download the files you want to use and work with them locally, regardless. If you are out of hard drive space, get an external drive.

You can't use commas in a .csv file because comma delimits the fields. You may be able to use an Excel macro to change or escape the commas, not sure. There are also Adobe Bridge and exiftool scripts to import metadata. i would look into doing it that way if LR won't work.

None of that should matter. I'm a former Mac Genius myself and have supported Macs for years. Usually when we see hard drive problems, its a power issue. If not that or bad cables, then you have a hardware problem with the computer. Even if Bridge was forcing a software eject, you wouldn't get that message. That is caused by a hardware/physical disconnect of the drive.

From your USB what? Hard drive? Memory card? Thumbdrive? If you get errors in the Finder, Bridge probably won't do any better. Run Disk Utility on the USB drive and see what it says. You may have a corrupt drive or card.

The OP isn't writing to disk images. As for the bug itself, this probably isn't Bridge. You are losing power to your drives and they are all shutting off. Get a battery backup.

Like a lot of UI choices, this should be done EXACTLY the way Aperture implements it. Seriously guys, zoom blows in Lightroom. Its awful. Worthless. Whoever approved the implementation should be fired.

I don't agree at all with the idea that Lightroom is for photographers and Bridge isn't. I'm a working pro who does product photography and Bridge is the better product for that. I also shoot landscapes and models and Lightroom works better for that work. Bridge has tighter integration with Photoshop and easier extensibility via scripting than Lightroom. For a workflow using multiple computers and network storage, Bridge is far superior to Lightroom.

Bridge is a file browser. Unlike Lightroom, there is not a catalog and images don't need to be imported. If you need integration with other Adobe products such as Photoshop, Bridge has a lot more features than File Explorer.

A collection is just a text file. If you use Bridge to move files, the Collection is automatically updated with the new file location.

Did you make any settings changes after deleting preferences? If not, then a default setting is the problem. You may have disk corruption or permissions problems on your hard drive.

I'm not understanding. You have to have at least one row and column to hold your content. If you have one column, one row, the background color fills the frame with zero margin size.

Both macOS and Windows 10 have virtual desktops built in (Spaces and Task View). Run Photoshop in one virtual desktop and just switch to a different one to do other work.

You can change the opacity, you can reduce saturation, you can place a white solid color layer above at partial opacity and try different blending modes(Soft Light is a good bet), or you can actually use different, less saturated original colors.

The Photography plan is $10 a month for Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge. I have the 13" version of that portable, but mine is maxed out at 16GB of memory. You should seriously consider adding RAM before you do anything else. 4GB is not really enough.

Adobe removed the Export panel but the functionality is still present. I have written a JPEG Export Palette which does what the old export did and more. See this thread for details and download link. Please note that it is in beta for testing but should be complete and functional. Bridge: Restore Export Panel In Bridge | Photoshop Family Customer Community
