Oh, I do like collages. I just think five or six photos (or 10) would be more attractive than 40 tiny photos. I went ahead and just placed all the photos. I think it will be fine. I just thought maybe there was a way to have them scattered into a random collage automatically.

Hi all! I'm using Photoshop CC on an iMac. I have a client who wants the cover of her brochure to be a collage of about 40 little photos (yes, blech... but it's what she wants). I was hoping there was a way to have Photoshop do this automatically. I discovered Photomerge... something I hadn't used before. But it didn't seem to do what I wanted, and I can't find a good tutorial to do what I want... so now I'm wondering if it will do it at all. My question is... is there a way to create a collage automatically (that is then editable) in Photoshop? Thanks!

I just updated to the newest version of Illustrator CC. I'm using an iMac running Mohave. I have a line of short cuts (not sure of the technical name) on the right side of my Illustrator window. Now when I click on them (since updating), the menu doesn't pop out like it used to. When I resize my Illustrator window... THEN it pops up. Is anyone having this problem? Any suggestions on what to do about it? Thanks! julie

Really? That's so weird. I've been doing these same charts for many, many years. They are generated online. I've always had them open with inches. Every time I've updated Illustrator, I set the units to inches and it always shows up that way. So is this a new thing?

I just updated from Illustrator 2018 to 2019. Everything is working fine... except I want to change "General" units from points to inches. It does not remain in inches. The next time I open a file, it's back to points. Any ideas? I'm on a Mac, by the way. Thanks so much! julie

I might be crazy, but I swear I saw a way to do this in the past... but I can't find anything about it online. Basically, I want a way to see what text has been modified from its paragraph style. So... if I've adjusted the leading or kerning... I want to see where that is. I am sure I saw a way to do this, but I can't find anything about it! Maybe I'm not searching up the right terms? Hi all! I'm finding that the palette that is automatically at the bottom of each page of a PDF is in my way. Is there a key command to make it go away and then a key command to make it come back? I'm attaching a picture of the palette I'm referring to. I'm on an iMac. Thanks!

That was it! I always thought of "justify" as meaning side to side... I didn't think about it meaning from top to bottom. Thanks so much! I KNEW it just had to be a setting that I was missing.

I have something weird happening that I've not seen before. I'm using InDesign CC 13.1 on a Mac. I'm sure it's just a setting, but I can't find what it would be. I have a text box with about 10 lines of text in it. When I select all the text, it's the same font size, leading, kerning, etc. But when I pull the text box down (so it's a longer text box), the leading changes... meaning that's what it physically does. The number in the leading box itself does not change. What would be causing this? I want all my text in this file so be the same size and leading.... and this is messing me up! It's only happening in this text box. I tried just copying and pasting the text into a new text box, but the problem didn't go away. I'm attaching two screenshots... the one on the left has the shorter text box. The one on the right has the longer text box. I changed nothing... except I made the text box on the right longer. When I'm at the hotel tomorrow working with the AV people, I will test the PDF to see if I can use it. If so, it would make my life SO much easier. I ended up spending pretty much the entire day creating JPGs of my PDF pages... and importing them ONE BY ONE into PPT (because for some reason Microsoft didn't think Mac people needed to be able to input a bunch of slide images at once). If I get the PDF to work, I'll report back. Thanks again for your help.

Thank you, Dov, for your in-depth response. It's funny you say this, because I also had the thought of just presenting with a PDF. I even figured out how to do fades between each "slide" of the PPT. Here's what I'm worried about. I'm going to be running this presentation from laptop. I did this last year. I need to be able to see the "slides" before and after what is being presented on the screen. We have a presenter speaking... and if he goes on and on, I need to go back to a certain group of slides and repeat them (there are 10 per group) until he finished talking. Then I can go on to the next slide. So it's important that I be able to see more than one slide on my computer... but have the audience only see one slide at a time. If I can figure out how to do this using Acrobat... I'd be thrilled. I do feel like I'm doing backflips trying to get PPT to cooperate. If you can tell me how I can see many slides at once while my audience only sees the one projected, then I'm golden.

Hi all! I have a 300+ page document that needs to become a PowerPoint presentation. I did this last year by hand (i.e., I exported each page as a single pdf, which I then imported into PPT). I was hoping to figure out a way to just have it be created automatically. Before starting the process, I played around with the export feature in Acrobat. I was able to export a simple PDFs as a PPT file. However, now that I've created the InDesign file (which I then save as a PDF), I find that the process isn't going smoothly. Weird things are happening with shadows and fonts. So my question is... is this just an inherently flawed way to export a PDF? Or am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to do this? The original file is an InDesign file. What is the most efficient way to get THAT file into a PPT presentation? It's already set up in the correct ratio. I had thought I had it all figured out. But... I haven't. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. julie PS I should mention I'm on a Mac computer. Apparently Microsoft does not have the "create albums" feature for Macs. That would have been helpful.

Sure... here you go. See the second one... it's text around a curve. But the letters are facing (something like) 15 degrees , 10 degrees, etc. to the left and right. See the bottom one? I did this by hand... but it's supposed to show the letters on the same curve, but not tilting to the right and left.

Hi all! Is there a way to add text to a curved surface (in this case an oval) and have the letters follow the curve... but each letter remains in its original vertical position? Does that make sense? Let me know if I'm not explaining it well enough. Thanks.

Hi all! I'm working on a huge catalog file that I did not create. The master pages are full of greeking. It takes me forever to spell check because of these pages. Is there a preference I can set to skip spell checking the master pages? Thanks.
