This sure sounds to me like it's not saving to the destination that you think it is.  When I used media encoder, I always check to see where it's saving, usually it's because I'm named the file name as well but that only time I've lost it (or misplaced) is when I was working two projects and accidentally save to the location of the opposite one. Can you explain? I understood you wanted to have the guitar a different color than the person.  If you are referring to the other gentleman's comment, I think we agree, separate layers. If you rotoscope one layer (guitar) place on top of lower layer, you can change color of the guitar layer OR change color of lower layer. It sounds like you have two different things to deal with. 1.  Rotoscoping one or the other from the scene, which I'd guess is easiest to do the guitar. 2.  Recoloring the different layers (easiest). First, duplicate the footage, place the main one below, lock it. Select top layer (second copy), and begin the roto. Not sure how long you are talking about but obviously, the longer and more movement, the more difficult it will be.  I'd also expect that you'd have to take your time to work around where the hands meet the guitar.  I'd either roto the guitar out or just a mask may be sufficient depending on the footage. If this is a stylized look you are going after, then how meticulous you get (or not) may give you more flexibility.  What I mean is, you may be ok with a widened, softened mask to where one color bleeds over to the other a little bit, etc. Past that, using any number of the colorization tools, you can adjust the color. I've witnessed this same error from time to time too.  The most obvious is of course to ensure the comp is in fact longer than a frame or two.  I'm sure you've checked that. Hey Jim, Appreciate your reply myself too.  For me, one of the most frustrating Premiere features has been not being able to change the frame rate after a project has begun.  I remember this a couple years ago and asking in forums and once started, it can't be changed.  So, hearing that it does well with mixed frame rates sounds great but could you explain?  Just curious now because I've seen issues when the frame rate of the project did not match and different clips with different frame rates caused me difficulty.  Maybe it's improved since then. I know for a fact in AE, a comp with incorrect frame rate may have problems.  It's never 100% but one indication is a frame from one clip pops up in another for no apparent reason.  In every case I've seen that, it was due to a comp that had a mismatch rate to clip setting.  At least that is easily fixable. I concur with Gutter, though the symptom of the blank box, I've not seen. Usually, if there are two or more (actually one running and you trying to launch one) instances running in task manager, it simply will not launch.  In that case, task manager, kill them, and it usually works (even without a reboot), though a reboot often helps and will certainly kill all the instances. I see that the checkbox is missing.  I think of it more that it's not that it's missing but rather, AE is not recognizing this .avi as a video file or something and if not, then it will not show that check box. Much like, sometimes I've imported footage that I thought had audio and the audio check does not appear.  Usually, that meant there was a problem and it did not contain audio.  In your two files, however I DO see that audio seems available. 1.  Does the audio work? 2.  Are you able to open this avi file in Premiere and see video? That's a reasonable question to ask. Logically you would just not use those if that were the case. But no, the moving people actually do interfere with the track so you want to exclude them in the track for best results. Good to hear that you were able to get some fair results.  There is also the mask tracker which would probably work well on this. I may be interpreting this different than Neil but I think you want to keep the 10 minutes and lose the other 50 from your source file. I don't think that can be done inside of Premiere other than to render the 10 minutes at same resolution, then delete the raw file. Personally, unless space is an issue, I'd work the project to completion and then delete the raw file later but, the cleanest way to get to your goal, at least I think, is render out what you want so you are just working with that.  Then bring it back in, delete the long one. At the risk of making this too simple, I'd simply grab that little razor blade in the toolbar (just left of your timeline), go to where you want to cut, click with the blade.  Go thru and do that for all of the spots you find a break.  Now, you have all separate pieces that you can slide around and place in order. I'd then move all my clips off to the right to have work space at beginning of timeline.  Then, find earliest clip, drag it over to left and so on. *Note. Be careful and use space too the right to temporarily position things otherwise, when you overlap on other clips, it defaults to cut them. Hope this helps. Eric ... View more

So, I'm curious, the particles in that shot look good.  Is there a reason to not use the ones from that shot above?  Looks like they are free. If you want to create them, there are ways however.  AE has it's own a particle generator and then there are things like Trapcode Particular. I'd search for tutorials on how to make dust or rain or something and modify that to sideways, play with wind and gravity if necessary but that would really be the approach.
