I no longer  have the file in that state as I simply worked on a copy layer with the regular content aware fill.   But I can describe you the steps.   1. Flatten image 2. Make layer 3. create a crop frame reaching outside the image borders. "Content aware fill" is checked in the crop tool's control panel 4. Hit enter to crop.  5. Result: the original image plus the background in black where you extended the image via crop tool. If you uncheck "delete cropped pixels" you get a transparent area where you wanted the extended image area instead of the content aware fill.  ... View more

I had it downloaded, and the user interface adjustments were as poor as in Bridge 2019: just one single slider with extremely blunt steps without any finesse of adjustment. You can choose all black, and the next step is already a pretty light gray, about in 50 brightness level steps.   Bridge 2018 had two sliders with much finer regulations. And you didn't have those unnecessary different shades of gray around the thumbnails that creates ugly boxes in Bridge 2019 and 2020.   We need better interface adjustment options, at least the same as in Bridge 2018 ... I just deleted Bridge 2020 as it is unusable. It shows wrong colors in the preview.   In installed Bridge 2019 where I have the Batch and Image Processor option again.   The only thing I don't like is that you cannot adjust the interface as much as in Bridge 2018 - I'd like those gray boxes to disappear around the images.   I uninstalled Bridge 2018 to reinstall but then found out you cannot download it any more. Still unresolved. As of now, I see that Bridge has severe problems displaying certain purples and cyans, while other images seem to display well - which points at Bridge not being able to display colors beyond the awkward sRGB color space. ... View more

I have created a custom settings file in Photoshop and after closing both PS and Bridge it showed up in the Bridge dialogue and I got a sync.   But the colors are still bad in Bridge.   Unbelievable - in 2019, and after countless versions, Adobe Bridge is unable to show a file in its native color space (which in my case is Prophoto RGB)   Adobe Bridge can only display sRGB as if it were 20 year old software. ... I tried to sync to monitor color, but that messed colors up totally. Now everything is broken. I don't use Bridge 9.3 at all. It's in my opinion unusable. Terrible, ugly interface, impractical, blurry previews, bad coding. Adobe should scrap the whole app, go back to version 8, and re-start the process. And DO NOT CHANGE THE LAYOUT. I don't need anything new. I just need it to work and be adapted to changes of the internet and the computers that software runs on. Make it just work, Adobe. I'm paying for a professional instrument, not "new and improved features". The key new feature for me was that Bridge could display in ProPhoto RGB (earlier it could only display sRGB, which was terrible). That was a good upgrade. But this playing around with features and interface design is a bad idea. We don't need corporate identity in software user interfaces. The less a software changes in the interface, the better. I don't use third party brushes. I no longer use a mouse. I don't even own one. For a photographer, it's a bad input device. I have a top of the line Wacom tablet - which is the only way you'd want to edit and retouch.' I have been using Wacoms since CS4 and never experienced anything like this. I have the impression that the lag is worse when editing masks. I never use quick mask mode. I click the "\" key to get the mask visible. Sometimes, the tile structure Photoshop processes in breaks open, and one tile looks not as the image looks. Then I have to go one step back in history, and then forward again, until Photoshop catches up (other people have reported sluggishness of 20.0.4, but the brush problem is the only problem I have encountered on my  machine so far) ... Actually with 30% I meant that on 30% of the image there were no pixels at all. I wanted to cover that area with pixels, using the 70% of the area that had pixels so I'd end up with a layer 100% covered with pixels. It was an image 70% covered by pixels, 30% transparent, and I wanted to fill the transparent part via Content Aware Fill. So there were many pixels available, but it looked like Content Aware Fill needs pixels to change, and cannot fill transparent space with pixels. So the term "fill" isn't accurate, it's more a content aware transform (and it needs pixels to transform in a content-aware mode) Except that I have a bug here - but this is how it's working and not working  on my machine. ... I was working from the edit menu. Looks like we have two kinds of "Content Aware Fill", that are called the same name, but are in different menus and do different things. One is Content Aware Fill and is in the edit menu. One is Content Aware Fill and is in the fill menu. Update: The trick didn't work. The image is a snow landscape with some sky and snow missing and I wanted it to be created. Content Aware works forever and then has exactly zero results - no pixels added or altered, just grinding along and failing. Content Aware total fail. ... View more

Rolling back may be a good option. I'm getting increasingly wary of updates. So often they are worse than the previous version (e.g. the unusable Bridge 9  - horrible interface that cannot be customized and blurry previews). And not push updates that break things. Especially on a Mac, where there aren't that many or that different versions of computers. And make sure older computers are compatible. Adobe has listed 5 and 6 year old Macs as incompatible with Photoshop - can you believe that? They listed a great number of graphics card used in retina MacBook Pros as no longer supported. Adobe is very rich and should have enough coding staff to properly test and also make sure that older computers are being cared for. I also have the same problem. Brushes are close to unusable. I'm on a Mac. Strange enough, the clone tool doesn't show any of these problems. I even had Photoshop turn off the graphics card once. As I have no problem running Final Cut Pro X it can't be the graphics processor. Code that is related to how Photoshop uses the graphics processor seems to be faulty. ... View more

I dropped Bridge 9.0.2 for its poor interface and the blurry previews and went back to Bridge 8.1 Adobe has to give us the choice to use the classic and elegant Bridge look or the new, crowded, attention seeking and way too busy interface.
