I am not able to check Creative Cloud apps / updates - always get the message ' Your apps are taking longer than usual to load etc. '. For me this is 'usual' for months, if not years. The only time I can get a peak on updates and other Creative Cloud Desktop app information is directly after a restart. Updated the app several times, removed it, reinstalled it, repaired it - all without any succes. I work on a MacPro / MacOS 12.6

Create a visual divider in between multiple added batches. When I adding multiple batches to render to multple folders, I need to change the output path for added files, but it is hard to distinguish which files belong to each added batch. In addition, it would be nice to set the output path for each added batch before the files or Comps are added, in stead of selecting all and then set the path (with long lists and scrolling this is an error sensitive process). (I know there is some kind of facility in Preferences, but that is too rudimentary. I would rather see a filebrowser/dialog to set the path at the moment of adding files)

When compositing Comps with 3d rendered elements, this can bring in a situation where an already imported render needs adjustments in the 3d app and then it has to be rendered again. While this is rendering, Ae panics, and comes up with all kinds of errors, while it just should wait for the render to finish. Why not do it the Premiere way - just say that the footage is offline, when it is not accessible, or show the Layer name in Italics or grayed out.

I have this habit where I create a folder in my Project with the name '-Output'. (the dash to keep it on top of the list) '-Output' can have several subfolders like 'Studio', 'Montage', 'VFX', 'LowerThirds' etc. All Comps in that folder represent a final rendered movie file. On my disk where the renders are output, I create the exact same folder structure, so I can easily track which movie belongs to which Comps, in case of corrections or reuse. My request: I would love to have After Effects automatically create the (relative) Project hierarchy for the output files on render time. More specific: when Comps are selected across folders, and these folders do not exist on the output disk, let Ae come up with the dialog "Shall I clone the Project Folder structure for the Selected Comps dear user? [Yes please] / [No, certainly not]"

Hello Dave, After Effects can be used for other things than animation too. For example to generate a huge amount of stills, all with the same effect, in a much easier way than Photoshop would do. Also, when animating to music with a certain bpm, it can be useful to have equally spaced animation events for some elements. (I would even like to have the possibility to activate some kind of snappy grid in the timeline, e.g. for every 5 frames, of every second, or whatever setting. Can come in handy in some occassions.)

Time-Reverse Keyframes seems to ignore any keyframes selected between the firs and the last selected keyframe. Came across this, while I wanted to create an alternating color transition (see picture for the situation). I selected every other keyframe, but invoking Time-Reverse Keyframes just reversed the whole keyframe sequence, ignoring my carefully selected subset. Please make the function work for selections as well.

For an effect that I am building, I need to happen a lot of things in a single layer. That is where the Effect/Channel/Calculations comes in handy. But unfortunately, the Blending Modes this effect offers are not the same as those for Layers. E.g.: Hard Mix is missing. And that's exactly the one I need for my project... Would it be possible to extend the effect with all Blending Modes?

The Camera Tracker seems to guess the scale of a scene, resulting in enormous spaces without any relation to the shot footage. It would be nice to have an approximation of the real world scale. This can be done in Cinema 4d style, by defining a 'known length' between two tracked points. Please add something alike.

I have this Comp, where on render time, Ae is saying "1 footage file required... is missing". But Ae does not tell which footage file. It would be really appreciated if it could give us a hint of the missing file. (Or a hyperlink to the project entry, of a search button to replace it directly)

Since ever, I would like to copy keyframes in a multilayer selection. And once in a while I try to alt drag keyframes to duplicate 'm (since this is common gesture to make duplicates of anything in a lot of applications). And now I think: maybe a combination of both is the ultimate way to make a dream come true! There won't be any confusion of how the duplicates will be pasted, since all of those will keep their tracks. Hope you can make this happen!

Thanks for your overthinking (without noticable arguments ;-). I still want it. Why shouldn't you? The information is available - why throw it away? Do you like your carefully named layers to be called Layer 1, Layer 2, Layer 3 etc? So why not respect given names, and keep the numbered paths when the default name is not changed (as in your case)? (If you like to know why I came up with this question: I have this repeating project where I animate travel routes, which I draw on a map in Adobe Illustrator. I like to draw a separate path for each travel day or trip, and combine those in 1 layer, so I can make use of Trim Paths in Ae to animatie the whole route, while keeping the separate paths (which I give a distinctive color each), in the original layer as a reference. And more: when animating vector art, it is nice to have descriptive names for paths on the same layer.)

I would like to have a contextual menu item in the Project Panel: Create new Folder containing selected items. That's faster and more convenient than first creating a folder, then selecting items and drag 'm into place.

Thank you Mylenium, that is a logical thing to do, but it feels a bit like a workaround. I don't understand why the anchor point is ignored and, of all points, the right lowerhand corner is taken (while in other Ae-situations, the coordinates are taken from the center or left upper corner). Do you have an explanation for that behaviour just for me to understand the logic?

I guess I'm missing something regarding the PointOnPath property. When placing a Solid on the position of a Path Point, it takes te right lower corner in stead of the Anchor Point for the position (see screenshot). How can I get it to work with the actual Anchor Point? I love Create Shapes from Vector Layer. But, to keep things organized, it would be nice when Ae keeps the names I give paths / sublayers in Adobe Illustrator. Currently paths are renamed Path 1, Path 2, Path 3. Not very descriptive.

When distorting a text layer, Corner Pin takes a rectangle of the size of the Comp. This is quite useles. In many situations, we want to distort the bounding box / sourceRectangle; the exact contents of a layer. Please add that as a checkbox to the Corner Pin effect.

When a new Project is created, and it is still empty - no assets - the Save command is greyed out. Why? I like to Save my project immediately, so I can't forget, and to start the Auto-Save schedule. Please make Save available always, and make it 'Save As...' when the project is Untitled. Just like other (Adobe) apps do.

When I render a Cinema 4d scene to ProRes4444 (16 bpc, including alpha), some renders are not recognized in the Adobe ecosystem - After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder. Those apps simply say: ‘Could not open source file. Please check that file exists with correct permissions. ( 86 :: 1)’, and then ‘After Effects error: file '[filename].mov' cannot be imported this 'Moov' file is damaged or unsupported.’ Premiere Pro says: ‘We were unable to open the file on disk.’ Other apps can import/play it without complaints - DaVinci Resolve Quicktime Player, Elmedia Player, Final Video Player, VLC, Does anyone encounters the same? Is there anyone who has a solution (other than workarounds)?
