So I have 12 top-level chapters in my ToC. However, only 10 of 12 are displayed on the tiles/welcome page. Wonder why the remaining 2 are not getting displayed. For each of the 12 tiles/chapters in the ToC I have a unique tile image.

I have a frameless output with 10 tiles currently. In the ToC I have 12 tiles. Is there a way to increase/control the number of tiles displayed on the landing page?

Agree :). I tried. It works well but somewhat distracts even with -10db volume and doesn't suit a formal/corporate eLearning module. Goes well with more casual or sales/marketing type of module.

Is it possible to add a light background audio/music/tone throughout the project so that the blanks and pauses don't seem empty. Is there any built-in tone/audio in captivate that can be used? It should be something that doesn't distract the mainline audio and the user.

Ok, here's another observation I looked at the source and output closely. In fact, when I launch the help locally, the tiles/categories configured in the ToC showed up as expected so did the tile icons and titles. When I click and go 1 level inside to view the content, the content in fact loads first and then the rest of the frame - that is the header and the left navigation/ToC. The sequence of loading is: Content loads fastest and this is the same content imported from MS Word. Then the header and sub-header, the Exand All, Favorites etc. Last the Toc in the left navigation pane. This loads the slowest. Wonder what is the reason. So when the user navigates through the topics it is a slow performance. I tried this on a local machine. I will disabling bread crumbs that won't make a difference though but something is slowing down the frame.

Well, it shows up in the source in the visual mode and also in the <html> mode. It also shows in the preview. It just does not show in the output. Would it be because the content is imported from word and there is some mapping issue?

Another issue I noticed we have steps/procedures as part of content imported from Word. In the source it shows correctly. When I generate a frameless output, it does not show up in the output. Any pointers?

We have a frameless project and output. The source files are imported from word document. Does importing word files add anything to the topics that slows down the output?

Thanks for all the insights. I think the first and foremost would be do they really want to even think about migrating volumes of Word documents to RH or just archive whatever they can and start a fresh with RH, if they decide on RH. In whatever way, migrating Word to RH will be messy and cannot be avoided - that is given the volume.

Thanks for the insight, everyone. Well, the primary objective is to be able to single-source. 4 o 5 writers ...volume of current and legacy content all in MS word...its assorted not just user manuals its anything and everything can be articles, write-ups, papers, forms, guides, etc. They know they have lot of content common across many many documents and right now they are managing the updates manually. So they are inclined to single-sourcing as the top-most priority. Reorganizing their content/document reporisoty that is on SharePoint is a different game.

So all the legacy documentation is in MS Word and doesn't have a common template or style applied. Multiple folks may have worked on it. You can say it is a document dump or repository of Word documents that they are looking at a possibility to import in RH. Any scripts or pointers would help them decide if RH is the right tool/solution or if they need something else.

We have a scenario in one of the product where their legacy documentation is hundreds of documents 900+ I would say. These are documents ranging from 10 to 50 pages - assorted. The customer is asking if they want to move all of these documents into RH source for single sourcing is it possible? More than single sourcing the challenge is importing 900+ documents individually in RH. Any script based solution here?

Hi, We have a product that has almost all its documentation on Wordpress. We want to import all of that to RH. Definitely don't want to copy-paste. Exporting Word press content to Word and importing it is a way, I would think. Other than that any suggestion? Considering that importing Word does mess the styles etc. and cleaning that later is a nightmare. Any suggestions?

Hi, We have a product online help developed using Frameless skin. On the Welcome page, we have the search bar and the buckets/categories or whatever you call and the user clicks on it to enter the help system. Is it possible to someway customize the layout in a way where we can add other elements to this welcome page? For example, above the buckets we want to add some Announcements. Or in the area under the buckets we want to add something. Is that possible?

Hi, Noticed this strange behavior. I have a PDF output from RH source. The output, cover page, header, footer, conten, toc comes out perfect. Just that in the PDF output there is a border (box) to the content. Any idea why this would be happening? I tried setting the border in the master page as transperant, white, 0px but nothing works. Infact, while taking pdf output if I dont select any master page the boxed border still shows up in the pdf output. Any idea how to fix this?

Noticed a strange thing. I opened a RH project after many months. I had last updated it on RH 2020 update 5 and saved some tags and conditional expressions. I opened the project in RH 2020.6.76 and noticed that the tags and conditional expressions have disappeared. The project went through an upgrade while opening. Does that happen? Has anyone noticed such a scenario?

I am noticing past few weeks the frameless output generated with rh 2020 update 6 is kind of slow when loading and navigating through, in general. The page load takes time for some reason. It was faster earlier. we don't have any heavy images that take a while to load. It works slow even on a local machine output before moving it to the help server. Anyone noticing this? Any idea how to resolve this issues?

Ok. In frameless, I tried under Layout > Header Links > Add Link. The Feedback link appears in the header to the right. However, how do I invoke the email client upon click by adding the javascript? This option has URL field. Or I am I doing something wrong?

Does each working project have its own cache? I tried clearing it when my source was open and the source got corrupt. Luckily I had a backup. Is it ok to clear the cache when Captivate is closed and no source is in use? I hope opening the source the next day will not create issues.

I am using Captivate 2019. What is the significance of this folder? \Documents\Adobe Captivate Cached Projects There are some folders/files that get created here and consume a lot of disk space. Should one retain them or delete them occassionally? Any suggestions?

I have a frameless output. In the topic page in the right panel at the top there are Expand All, Favorites, Filter, Share, and Dark (moon icon) buttons. I want to disable the Share and the Dark button. I tried deleting the logos under the topic page > buttons section. However they still show up in the output. Any idea where their visibility is controlled?

Is there a way to resize the red screen capture box/window that displays when i start recording a software simulation? It appears kind of big right now an I am unable to adjust the browser in such a way that I can exclude/hide the URL from getting recorded. Or is there a way to hide the URL from getting recorded?

Is this a bug? I am taking a word output of my frameless help. When I add the front matter for the toc, the toc shows up fine. When I add a cover page in the front matter just above the toc, the cover page shows up twice. once at the very start as the cover page, which is correct and also as part of the toc as page 1, which is incorrect. if i move the cover page outside the front matter and place it above it, the toc gets hidden and the topics follow the cover page. Also, the cover page always takes heading 1 by default. Any idea how to handle this?
