What happens if you copy them to your Mac's hard drive , and then import them?
Also what if you select the images with missing EXIF data into a Metadata> Read from file?
I'm wondering if the files may be corrupted, for example. Are they all raw files? Compressed or some other option?

There is an alternative to rolling back to 13. Here is what I am doing:
When I know I've shot video on a proper camera:
Use other tools (Explorer, Bridge Downloader) to transfer files from the card to my hard drive
Separate the videos into a new neighbouring folder
In LrC, import the photos
In another tool, create a JPEG file for each video
In LrC, import these JPEG placeholders
Alternatively, I think John Ellis's AnyFile will do a similar job
Stop importing new videos directly into any of the Lightroom mobile apps (LrMobile, LrWeb, Cloudy Lr)
Far from ideal, but workable if you don't create many videos and want to upgrade your computer in your own good time.

That's what I expected, because it also refers to an updated dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe.

Hopefully, your problem may be fixed, but it may be that it's still there. So when you first reported the problem, did Import contain any videos? And now, can you import a video into the new catalogue?

I agree. I can't understand how an under-powered GPU would cause Lightroom not to copy files and import into the catalog. I don't mind slow rendering, I do mind being stuck.
By @lll0228
I do not think it is the GPU itself, but is because Import in Lr14 renders videos by calling a new version of the common Adobe file dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe, as I mentioned above.
This exe fails to start if its system requirements have not been met, and I have seen a range of impacts on my older Windows PC:
Import stalls if it contains any videos
LrC fails to render thumbnails of some videos that are already in the catalogue (those which don't already have thumbnails)
LrC's Sync stalls when sync down files imported into LrDesktop/Mobile/Web if they include a video file
I wouldn't be surprised if there are other problems caused when video files are present.
On the same computer:
Adobe Bridge 14 triggers an error message about not supporting video - it's triying to call the new dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe
Older versions of Lightroom and Bridge can import/render video because they call an older version of dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe
One thing I mean to test is if one can simply replace the new dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe with an copy of the old one. But I'd expect some smart programmer already thought of that and included code to check the version.

I wonder if this is because of the video files. In Lr14, Adobe updated a file called dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe which seems to render files in different applications, and this file requires a certain version of Windows. The system requirements are here but are not clear-enough to be sure.
Try copying the card contents to your hard drive, separating the videos and other files, then import the non-video files. Do they import OK?
Try installing Bridge. Does it display the video files? If not, that may prove the above idea.
I'll report this to Adobe.

Just get rid of the automatic change of alphabetical order.
Everyone can manually put kyewords in alphabetical order if they want.
By @Juha5EA3
I'm not against non-alphabetical order, but that's simplistic. There's no "just" here.
Any change would need to allow the Keywording panel to toggle between displaying keywords in a new as-entered (and recorded) order and the current alphabetical order which is better for most users. The change would also need non-trivial structural changes in the database. Hold your breath if you want.

Yes, it's design. Without checking, I think that the reason is that keywords are in their own table, and what gets applied to each photo is only the ID of each keyword. The order in which they were applied is not recorded at all.
So the development cost of changing is not trivial, the use cases are limited, and in any case LR is not deviating from the IPTC standard. I wouldn't hold my breath for a "fix".

There's also a 3rd party example, Alamy, which chose to feed keyword order into its own algorithms. I'm not sure there are many other use-cases out there, and on the other hand alphabetical keywords are much easier to review.
LR would need significant work to change its behaviour because it stores the keywords in a structured database and doesn't record the order for individual images (unlike Bridge which simply stores keywords as a text string).
LR could of course be updated with manual keywording, if Adobe thinks it's a priority. But a LR plugin could certainly allow users to enter manually-ordered keywords in the Metadata panel, and these text strings could then be written into the files exported to the outside service. I've always been surprised that the author of the Alamy plugin never added this feature.

It's inconsistency, not a LR bug (or a Bridge one). As no standard defines what is correct, neither Bridge nor Lightroom is doing anything wrong.

That is expected behaviour and has always been the same. Bridge happens to save keywords in a manual order, LR stores them alphabetically, and there is no IPTC standard which says which is the right approach.

The only downside I foresee is being unable to search within Lightroom across shoots.
By @parkerea
While I agree with the earlier posts about how LR works best as a single catalogue, there are plenty of people who do work with job catalogues as you propose. When the job is done and portability is no longer needed, it's then common to open a master catalogue, use File > Import from Catalog to bring the job catalogue in, and then archive the job catalogue and never see it again. So you get the portability when the job is open and you have control of your entire picture collection. Managing all your pictures, not just folders (sessions) is an important aspect of Lightroom.
You also have other alternatives to moving work back and forth if you decide to import everything into a master catalogue.
One would be to use File > Export as Catalog to create a job catalogue, work on it on the other computer, and then use File > Import from Another Catalog to bring the work back into the master.
Another is to take advantage of Adobe's mobile workflow, syncing a job's photos and then accessing them on other computers using Lightroom Desktop, or even on phones and tablets. So today you might edit the shoot in Lightroom in the master catalogue, tomorrow morning on your laptop and one image on the iPad on the train home, etc, and all your edits will automatically flow back and forth. If you need to have access to full res files everywhere, you can import them into Lightroom Desktop or another of the mobile apps (obviously this uses up your space).
One last comment is that C1 sessions are more like folders, and the workflow is more like Adobe Bridge. They're not really analogous to LR's catalogues, which is why C1 has its own catalogue feature.

Lightroom Mobile doesn't let you use curve edits on videos.
Lightroom in general is designed to manage video files, rather than adjusting them. The only Lightroom app which can apply curve edits to videos is Lightroom Desktop, the cloud-dependent Lightroom that runs on PC and Mac. Lightroom Classic.
Don't waste your money on presets - spend it on a book or course or a good pizza. But they can be used on all types of LR.

Doubt it, as there is a way to do it as described and it's a one-off activity (if you do it all) and not a continuing workflow.
But no-one outside Adobe knows.

By @fierce_Euphoria5CC7
That's a good way forward.
So feature wise, and in terms of how it works, even though the marketing page touts them as pretty much the same, you are saying that LR Classic feels more like 5.5 did, and the new LR cloud is basically a different application?
By @fierce_Euphoria5CC7
Cloudy Lightroom is more like Lightroom Mobile, just running on a computer rather than on a phone or tablet. So it's a bit of a cuckoo, while Lightroom Classic is 5.5's direct descendant.
I use both, but it's Lightroom Classic that is on my main computer and is central to me. From it, I do "sync" photos to Adobe's cloud (which will be new for you) and can access them in Cloudy Lightroom on my laptop or Lightroom Mobile on my phone and tablet. I might show people pictures on the tablet, or make rough edits on the train or pub, even import new pictures and edit them, and all those changes flow back to Classic. So for the convenience of these mobile apps including Cloudy, it's Lightroom Classic that is in charge. Hope that helps.
Certain features have parity, plenty don't and those are overlooked in the touting. Try LrC and you'll feel in a familiar environment.

Possibly.
With Lightroom Cloudy, try using its Migrate command to bring in the old 5.5 catalogue.
If it says it's too old, try installing the latest version of Classic Lightroom, use it to open the 5.5 catalogue, and then use the Migrate feature.

First, unfortunately it's not clear what you mean when you say "Lightroom CC" as there is no program with that name, and we're only guessing at which of the two Lightrooms you mean.
So, in that program please go to Help > System Info, copy the first line and paste it into your reply.
It may be that the name confusion means you've got the wrong Lightroom.

You've misunderstood what I said.
To put it in other words, if you export from Print - ie using the Print to File button - there is no way to keep the original filenames.
If you really want to keep the original filenames in files exported from LR, you have to use File > Export. This completely ignores Print and exports individual files.
So if you want to generate files with Print Package layouts, you have to accept that they will not have original filenames. Reimporting and renaming them in LR might work in some circumstances (eg one picture per package) but would still be awkward, depending on the file naming scheme.

In Print, you can't export files with the original names. Picture Package, for example, is designed to allow more than one photo to be on the layout.
To retain original names, you need to go through File > Export.
