I did a poor job of explaining so let me elaborate. When choosing "Import from Another Catalog", the "Catalog Contents" section is a series of Folders. When you import a Folder, not only will those images be imported but any Collections that they were in inside the other Catalog will also be built and populated in the Collections section of the current Catalog. At least that's what happens on my system with my current configuration. I have no experience with MathTools so I'm just thinking laterally here. You'll often see people anchoring images to text and controlling the image anchor with conditional text. This is a sneaky way of applying conditional settings to a whole image frame. The same can be done with text frames. While this may complicate your design I'm wondering if putting everything that you need to apply MathTools formatting to in a separate frame which is in turn controlled by conditional text might side-step the problem. ... This is a horrible, horrible hack and should only be used if you can't find a suitable character (glyph) which has a built in arrow above it. Insert an arrow into your text via the Glyphs panel. Look for fonts with "Pro" extensions such as Minion Pro. These tend to be OpenType fonts and have lots of extra characters such as arrows. Also note that I narrowed the search by typing "arrow" in the Glyphs panel search field. Select the arrow and from the Character panel… - Make the arrow smaller - Raise the arrow by adjusting the Baseline Shift Position the cursor to the left of the arrow and from the Character panel dramatically reduce the kerning. This will drag the arrow above the character to the left. You may also need to position the cursor to the right of the arrow and slightly adjust the kerning. Technically the arrow is still positioned between the "A" and the "p".
