How long time do you wait? Importing projects take long time, so it is normal for the import dialog to do nothing for a couple of minutes before its done. I imported a large project yesterday and it took 4 minutes, 4 minutes of "nothing happened". In the end it worked, but yes, it takes long time and appears that it has crasched/hanged. Is there a way around this? By @SteveD333

Trust Premiere Pro and not QuickTime. 🙂 Or is it a problem such as it playback fine in Premiere Pro (23.976) but stutters in QuickTime (23.33) and/or in other software players or ruins uploads to let´s say YouTube? @Peru Bob´s tip about using MediaInfo to get the properties is good, please try it when you can and post the results here.

Where do you see that the export has an "average frame rate of 23.33"? ...but the resulting export is always an 'average frame rate' of 23.33. By @Colleen2612262140oi

You have placed the stereo clip on a Mono track, thats why. Use Stereo tracks or Standard tracks. And, you have a sequence with the Mix set to 4 tracks, so may probably just need a sequence with the Mix set to Stereo. You cannot change that, you must create a new sequence but you can easily copy track from another sequence to the new one. If you want/need to keep the 4 track Mix sequence, don´t forget to pan Left to Left and Right to Right to get proper stereo playback.

Everyone? Where do "everyone" praise? The people i have seen praise LTSC are totally obsessed with uninstalling all apps that they dont want/need and de-bloating Windows is their daily mission. For example, they are worried that Edge is still installed or that OneDrive and the Weather is still installed or any other app they dont use. None of that matters when using Premiere Pro. If you dont like lets say Edge or OneDrive, just ignore them and dont use them. That works as well. If you use LTSC you will not find that Premiere Pro performs 400% better and faster or that the video created are magically better just because of the OS version you choose, or not use. There has never been any threads here with someone that had an issue with Premiere Pro that got the issue solved by installing LTSC since it is so "praised" by someone that obsesses about too many pinned apps in the Start menu or that the Weather app is still installed. Never. The opposite has happened, iow that someone with a slipstreamed version of Windows had issues that went away when using a standard version of Windows, Home or Pro. Thats my honest answer. ...everyone is praising... ...and I would like honest answers .. By @STUDIO29K

You can do that by going to File > Project Settings > Scratch Disks and change the path for Captured Audio to your external disk. When done, go to Edit > Preferences > Audio and change Render Edit in Audition files to from Next to original media files to Scratch disks location for captured audio. Now the audio files will land on your external disk when you do a Render and replace, even without using Audition. The files will be saved in a subfolder to that path. The subfolder has the same name as your current project. I cannot test now, but if you open the project later without the external disk the scratch disk will reset back to the default path. That can be important to know if it is a project that you will continue to edit later. Am trying to find a way to get the Render and Replace files to save on said external hard drive. By @leicaguy

O.k, i thought you had 100 fps and 25 fps as you wrote earlier but see now that you also wrote that all clips appear as 25 fps. I have no other ideas.

Set the Project panel to List View and sort the clips using Frame Rate. All clips appear 25 fps, but this filmed in slow motion mode plays in slow motion. By @Yan37415608wlz6

IMHO, software encoding produces better results/quality that hardware encoding does. To shorten export times, use CBR instead of 2 pass VBR. I also think CBR produces better quality that any kind of VBR in Adobe apps. The quickest export would be Apple ProRes LT that is a format YouTube accepts, but the file size will be huge so if it´s a 30 minutes file it will take time to upload unless you have a really, really good upload speed.

That result is not normal. One thing that caught my attention is that the blue "bar" that normally point to the right points mostly to the left and some of it point to the right on you screen dump. On my screen dump below you can see how it should look. When Premiere Pro behaves odd the best way to fix it is to reset the preferences. Close Premiere Pro and then launch Premiere Pro while holding down the Alt-key. This should give you the Reset options dialog. (3) But zoomed in, you see that in fact both the audio (I didn't realize this initially) and the video have not completely rippled, i.e., there is a distinct gap both in the audio and video tracks. There wont be any updates/improvements for Premiere Pro CS 5.5 so contacting Adobe wont do anything regarding capture in CS 5.5. When CS6 were released in 2012 the work/updates on CS 5.5 stopped. The capture feature is gone from the most recent versions of Premiere Pro and that should be a hint of that improving capture of tapes is not on Adobes radar at all. If the free software was impossible to install it points to an issue with your computer. Do you use an Administrator with full rights account or a user account with restrictions? I do not know how to reach the responsible person at Adobe's but it is necessary to improve this issue even in older versions of Première Pro. By @toon1540

Not really sure what you mean, but it can be due to track targeting. In the image below V1-V3 and A1-A4 is selected, iow blue. When doing i ripple delete now with In/Out points all tracks will be affected. But if you for example don´t have A4 selected though you have a audio clip there it wont be affected by the ripple delete. This is the most common reason to that it seems that something went wrong. To fast select all V´s in in one go is to Shift+click on any of the V´s. The same goes for audio, Shift+click on any of the A´s. Its possible to set up keyboard shortcuts for this as well. One other thing is that if you for example set an In Point at 00:00:05:00 and an Out Point at 00:00:06:00 with the aim of cutting out exact one second you will actually also remove the frame 00:00:06:01 as well, iow removing 1 seond and one frame. When i set an Out Point i always press the left arrow once to go back one frame to avoid this since it do cause issues. Not always, but imho too often to be good. Did any of that blah blah help? 🙂

In Point + Out Point + Extract should do the trick. Shortcuts available for all three commands. I = In Point O = Out Point Extract = It depends on the language on your keyboard. Hovering over the Extract icon in the Program panel should reveal the shortcut.

No, without backups it´s impossible. A tip is to not rely on auto save and make a habit of taking manual backups such as File > Save a Copy now and then during the lifetime of a project. That has saved me and many other from disasters. Too late now, but till next time it´s good to have. 🙂

O.k, got it! You may have by mistake deleted the media on the timeline. Its easy to do and you wont get any warning such as "Are you sure...?". Don´t you have any backup of the project file you can restore?

You have probably by mistake closed the timeline. The timeline can be found in the Project panel and if you don´t find it, type sequence in the find box and all your timelines will be there. When you find it, double click on it to open it again. If you set the Project panel to List View it´s easier to visually locate it.

This document should answer some of your questions: The best Instagram video format (adobe.com) For export it says "Change the format to MPEG4 at the top of the panel." but set the Format to H.264 instaed. Its basically the very same thing but MPEG4 has a ton more parameters to change, so its easy to get lost there. I would use 1080x1920 for the sequence settings. But it seems that you can use many different video sizes so maybe more than one setting is the way to go. The video size can be different but then you have to scale the footage to fit. If you dont like the look of HDR, skip it. Regarding VBR/CBR i always choose CBR since VBR tend to look a tad worse and sometimes very much more worse. For the rest, you have to decide if you need a specific camera, depending on the look you want. The same goes for slow motion. If you want it, use it. If you dont want it, skip it. Nothing is right or wrong. With all different video sizes it seems that one has to decide beforehand what one want to upload and do many tests until one find what suits best. As i wrote earlier, 24GB or 42GB space left is way too little. Editing video is demanding for computers, it loves and needs lots of free space, it loves much RAM, it loves the best CPU, it loves a beefy GPU. It being the video editing app here. So 10% of 246GB is too little space left, 10% on a 1000GB is better but not ideal either.. I don´t know if thats the cause of you problems/crashes, but you got some bad odds with your setup. Disks totally filled up with data do cause issues, always. yes My Mac has 246GB internal drive. and I was working in Desktop, and exporting to Desktop as well. I'm not sure what you mean by at least 10% free space. 10% of 246GB is 24GB... By @수빈388546390qsr

Did you try to reset the Preferences as described abowe? Your keyboard shortcuts will still be threre, just press Ctrl+Alt+K to open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog and choose your Preset. (See image below) ...but as Iexplained every time I restart premiere and start to export something thebitrate (and other settings) are the same I choose a long time ago for aspecific purpose By @Nikbakht

Adobe has an option to get McAfee Security Scan Plus at the same time one download Adobe Reader. You can just uninstall McAfee Security Scan Plus from your computer if you want to get rid of it. I have through the years seen this when installing Adobe Reader, iow that McAfee Security was enabled by default in the installer and one had to manually un-check it to avoid getting McAfee Security installed. I don´t like this either. I just updated Adobe Viewer and to my alarm receive McAfee with it without my consent or even knowledge. By @Slaggat

I don´t know if this will solve anything, but if i have a mov clip in Premiere Pro that has been created with After Effects and need to change the clip i select the clip in Premiere Pro and go to Edit > Edit Original or just Ctrl+E. This will automagically laucnh After Effects, open the project, add the Ae Composition to the Render Queue with the same settings used when the original clip were created. When done editing the clip in After Effects, just render out the clip from the Render Queue in Ae. You don´t have to change the path of the file. Alt+TAB back to Premiere Pro when done and the clip should auto-update.

How are you doing it, dragging the Cross Dissolve from the Effects panel or using a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+D? If you are using Ctrl+D you have to make sure that the video track/s are targeted. In the image below Ctrl+D will work on all four tracks, but if i untarget V2+V3+V4, Ctrl+D will only work on V1.

42GB free space is often not enough even if the exported file is 2GB. It doen´s work that way, that if you have let´s say 4GB free space left there is no problem exporting a file that will be 2GB. If it is your system drive that has 42GB space left and you are exporting to that drive you have an issue there. Clear out some space and make sure that you have at least 10% free space. When the OS disk is near to full apps and OS starts to behave erratic. When you say thet "My Mac is 246GB", what do you mean? That the system drive has a total capacity of 246GB, or? Are you exporting to the system drive or a external disk?

Try to launch Premiere Pro while holding down the Alt-key on your keyboard. This will give you the Reset options dialog. Make sure that Reset app preferences are checked and press Continue. This will reset Premiere Pro´s preferences and that will often solve issues. But, i see that you have 24.46 GB disk space available and thats nothing left and leads to export issues. Aim for more than 10% free space on the disk you export to. 10% is minimun. I think this is your main issue here.

No, it does not reset keyboard shortcuts/workspaces or anything else. Kbd shortcuts will appear as gone, but press Ctrl+Alt+K and re-select your shortcuts from the drop down menu inside the kbd dialog. Tnx a lotDoes this resets also the keyboard shortcuts and workspaces and..? By @Nikbakht
