It's fixed on my end. I reverted back to a previous version of Adobe.  Voila! No more AI features displayed. Hooray. By @LJ_3237 Correct--that option was mentioned twice on Jan. 28th (and on other similar threads).  Bascially, revert back to a version before the feature was introduced. However, I wouldn't be surprized if Adobe disables the interface revert sometime in the future.    I always wonder who the people are that Adobe gets these feature requests, such as the new interface, from and how they determine it's a feature worth implimenting. The button is still there regardless of the preferences. Technically, it is off even if the button is still visible.  First, simply don't click on the button. Problem solved. Second, if you DO click on it, you have to click the Enable button at the bottom of the screen before it will work.    ... View more

Are you sure you did not download the demo? I just installed the Reader [on freshly reformated Windows system] and other than deselected the dumb Mcfee Virus option, I had no problems. The Reader did ask me about upgrading but I just closed the dialog box. There were a few blue buttons about trying Pro on the screen but they did not interfere with usage.    ... View more

I suspect your version is trying to "phone home" to validate the serial number. Unforunately, the validation servers are long gone. When it is not on the internet, it can't validate.  Other than shutting down the old servers, Adobe is doing nothing to shut your software down.   ... View more

I think we discussed this before, but I've split the parent page items on two layers. I lock the layer I don't want to be overridden. The other layer with parent page items can be overridden en masse. Simple select all the pages in the Pages panel and override the items.    ... View more
