It's good to hear you can get the software up and running. Are you absolutely sure the reset preferences step is required each time? My hope is that you can get to the welcome screen without having to do that and without the program crashing. For the auto-save thing, It may well be caused by multiple preference resets, followed by Pr establishing a new auto-save location by the default location, which is next to the project file. Feel free to move and otherwise rearrange or delete the auto-save projects and folders until you make it look like you want it to.  If you do have to reset preferences each time, and that is what is causing the deeply nested auto-save projects, then you may want to establish a permanent, fixed location for auto-saves. If so, try launching Pr from a shortcut (Dock, Launchpad, Desktop) and then opening your project either from the in-your-face recent project list, or from the File menu. What I've had to do in the past is do a replace footage operation in Pr and point it at the Ae project.  So if you haven't tried this, open the project in Pr 2020 and (maybe for good luck) open Ae 2020 at the same time. Then find one of your linked Ae comps in the Pr project panel, right-click it and choose replace footage. Then navigate to the Ae 2020 project and link it. An alternative method would be to make your Ae comps in the 2020 Pr project offline, then do a link media operation to point them to the Ae project. I would try saving the project immediately after changing the codec. If that doesn't work then close out of Pr and relaunch it from a shortcut (Desktop, Start Menu or Taskbar) while you hold down the Shift+Alt keys. You can't do what you're asking, if I understand correctly. I suspect it's because when Pr imports the clip, it reads the clip's metadata, which says it is X pixels wide by Y pixels high. When you rotate the image, it rotates within that original frame. It's just like if you had a portrait-oriented sequence and rotated the clip horizontally within that. You'd get the same result. Although it will shrink the image, you can use the Scale property in the same Transform effect that you used to Rotate the clip to view the entire image.   ... View more

If you open the audio mixer and look at the master meters, the levels there will essentially reflect the sum of the levels of all of the audio tracks. You have a unique setup with an esoteric issue on an old version of Pr. Not many folks are going to be able to help you with that, and so they don't post. I would upgrade to the latest version of Pr (22.5) and work on troubleshooting the choppy playback. It may not involve the EGPU at all.
