Thank you for the screenshot. Unfortunately, your screenshot is not informative enough. Which selection tool is active? Which elements are selected (layer panel). The bounding box is probably also hidden at the moment. But unfortunately you can't tell from the incomplete screenshot.

Please show something. Maybe Shift+Ctrl+B is the trigger - or your layer is locked - or or or ...

Just to be on the safe side: You know that offset Path creates a new additional path with a (positive or negative) offset/distance to the selected path?

Please try: Scroll down to bottom tick all documents (one by one) then arrange in Windows (or similar)

What ‘type of rectangle’ is it? Can you please show a screenshot (fullscreen with layers panel unfolded)?

Have you tried @Bojan Živković suggestion? It should work with most variants. You might consider using Reveal All (located just below the Trim command)… By @Bojan Živković

As @c.pfaffenbichler has already said: Always compare effects at 100% zoom - not at 11.7% and not at 112%. Question: Is there a change at 100% view when you create a merged copy of all visible layers?

I am a little confused. At the beginning you talk about PSD/PDF and now about PSD/JPEG. Unfortunately, I can't see where in your PSD the threshold is applied. But since you are most likely overlaying a smart object above with reduced opacity and possibly with a blend mode, please try the following: Before saving/exporting your file as a JPEG, activate the top layer and press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E. (This will create a merged copy of all visible layers above the active layer). Does the appearance of the file change? If not, then save this version as a JPEG.

Can you please show an example? Either I don't understand your problem - or I can't reproduce it on my computer. PS - PSD Adobe Acrobat - PDF (with PS in the background for comparison)

You have only set the ‘Indicator’ layer colour (and not the fill color). An Adjustment layer Color Fill always starts with black and can then be set directly to the desired colour.

As I said, I don't have this problem under Windows. (Or you're talking about a different problem).

Hi I cannot reproduce this behaviour on my Windows computer. A click places the cursor in an input field. A double-click selects everything in the input field.

What @D Fosse has already said. Otherwise, vectors in Photoshop are just as good as vectors in pure vector programmes. Another difference is that the editing of vectors in Photoshop is much more limited. For example, there are fewer ‘path calculation modes’. Conclusion: You can work with vectors in PS without any problems, but overall it is simply more complicated and much less is possible.

Invert colour works differently than you think. What you probably mean is ‘swap colour’. It will be easiest to select the circles first and fill the areas with black. Then select the background rectangle and colour it red.

IMO I am afraid that there is no script solution for this problem. A script can read coordinates and colour values, for example. But a colour gradient can have so many settings - it's like trying to turn an omelette back into an egg. Sorry

Thanks for the tip Monika, I always thought the gap options were the same across all tools document-wide. But that is not the case.

Double-click on the Shape Builder Tool to increase the width of the gap detection

Works well with black and white: - Change mode from greyscale to RGB - Open channels panel - Ctrl + Click on RGB channel - Shift + Ctrl + i (invert the selection) - Switch to the layer panel - new adjustment layer -> Solid Colour result the same, but on a multicoloured background

Try: menu: File -> Scripts -> Load files into stacks …

As @c.pfaffenbichler has already said: a (very) good scan is the basic prerequisite for optimum image processing. Inquire in your neighbourhood whether someone has a better scanner available. If not, then with the current state of photographic technology, professional RAW images in a light tent under an anti-reflective glass plate could possibly provide a good basis However, even the best image processing can't conjure up what your scanner has ‘swallowed’ in terms of information.

Hi @BrettN Thank you for your reply. That was/is exactly my assumption (I'm not the person who asked the question - I was merely recreating a possible scenario). Unfortunately, the questioner has still not made his file available. Because only then would it be possible to find and suggest a real solution - one that really fits the problem. I am still relatively sure that the cause of this ‘misbehaviour’ in the questioner's file is an unfavourable setting in the effects. Perhaps he/she will get back to me in this thread. Perhaps his/her ‘problem’ has already been solved in the meantime.

That does not matter. Here is (my) sample file (with the edited screenshot from OP). Activate/deactivate ‘Layer 2 copy’ and check the settings of Inner Glow against ‘Layer 2’ Inner Glow

Hi PEC, I wouldn't say that (yet). I would love to see and inspect the file from the OP. Then we'll see whether ‘unsuitable, because conflicting’ settings are actually responsible.
