Try: Group them, then merge group. Or make Smartobject and rasterize.

Jane is right. This way, the text layer is rasterised and can no longer be edited as live text. Maybe group your text layer and your rectangle and just copy the group. Would that be a workable solution for you?

How about using PDF instead of EPS?

Hello @Deleted User I have probably ported the shortcuts from an older version. For me it's ‘ä’ and ‘#’ on my German keyboard. And yes, while ‘#’ works to zoom in, ‘ö’ does not work in [Select and mask…] mode. What does work though: Alt+Ctrl+right click ( + drag left/right) to resize the brush and Alt+Ctrl+right click ( + drag up/down) to adjust the brush hardness.

Which setting did you choose for your pen tool? The selection created depends on this.

And I always pay attention to simplified and clearly structured designs (for professional reasons). Here again my result from earlier. As it should be: a single corner point. What could be the reason why we both get such different results?

No problem here. Which Illustrator version are you using? Have you ever restarted your computer? Have you tried signing out of your Adobe account and then signing in again?

Unfortunately too little information, no layer palette and no title bar visible. Possible would be e.g. Proof Colors Ctrl+y (this can only be undone with the same command, but not with the Undo command) What color space are you working in? Can you please show a complete screen shot with all the necessary palettes and the title bar? And three more with the color settings and the expanded view menu and the history panel?

The (only) red areas (along the blue paths) are the geometric bounds. The red areas plus the yellow strokes are the visible bounds.

What do you really need? All “visible bounds” or all “geometric bounds”?
