This is a public forum with 95% of people not being staff. The colors in placed images have always been calculated from the screen representation. I can't remember Illustrator asking that.   What you can do: Create a new file. Place/Link your PDF Select it and Object >Flatten transparency. Check"Outline fonts".   You can use that and then copy the text from there into your file that you can open a second time. Flatten transparency can be really destructive. ... View more
