Never install codec unless its not on your system. It can mess up your good codec. Elements has all you need. MP4 is just a container. The two cameras which won't import most likely have a different flavor of H.264? codec stored inside the mp4. Convert the files with Handbrake before bringing them into Elements. Replace Media in now done in the Properties Panel But it looks like there is nothing to replace. Might need to update the mogrt in After Effects.

If you dont want to use the source clip effect you will have to change the orientation before bringing the clips into Premiere. For the mac there seems to be a tool for this, window you can use Shutter Encoder.

If you delete preview and you render the timeline your preview files are made again. As for auto save: no auto save no project files to fall back on.

Scrubbing the wheel means moving the crosshair around. Toward the center it is decreasing the value towards the edge is increasing the value Shadow is on the left, highlight is on the right.
