I made a black to white blend in Photoshop to apply to the background of my video (subject is closecut), at the size of the composition at 300 ppi. I imported it into AE, and set it to multiply. I overlayed it a few times and offset it, in the hopes of making it smoother... but it produces this result. Is it my render settings, or content? Mp4 is what I'm staying with. I obviously downloaded Codecs and uninstalled/reinstalled AE and PPT. Weirdly, it appears to somehow be working again though... and I have no idea what changed to fix it!

It turns out the issue must be with Adobe – after speaking with 3 different support people about this issue, they suggested I use a 3rd party utility called ‘Handbrake’ (which I’ve noticed has been referenced on the forums as a solution to other issues). It appears to have installed, and it worked on the video files I tested – this will be a workaround for the time being. Adobe has apparently escalated the issue to their senior technical personnel, and they said I’d be contacted in the near future on a better fix.

I've used After Effects for a while now to export H.264 .mp4 videos, which I then place into PowerPoint. In the last week or so, I'm getting an error when I try to play the video (in PPT), saying: "Codec Unavailable". I haven't changed the way I do things, I've tried to export multiple videos and place in multiple PPTs - no luck. Now I know this might be a PPT issue, but on the off chance it's an AE issue, I thought I'd post and see what the intelligent folks on the Community forum might have to say!

Thanks, I tried that, and it is *maybe* a bit faster, but maybe the issue is due to the fact that our IT has kept us on iOS Monterey 12.6.3, which may not work well with PS.

It wasn't always this way, but after some PS updates, when I save a .png file, it corrupts *unless* I save it as 'smallest file size' .png version, however doing so takes a ridiculously long time lately - is this happening to anyone else?

I am trying to do an illustration in Ai (I don't have time or ability to do it in a dedicated 3D program), and I'm wondering: can I maintain the perspective with different colored/bevelled objects? I want to start with simple shapes, like circles, and extrude them to cylinders etc. I did the Target reference in an older version of Ai, and it took a ton of work, basically duplicated all components multi times to apply new colors...

After Effects 'unlinks' from Media Encoder - it's not recognizing that I've sent something to render. I uninstalled AE (and Encoder), then re-installed AE, and it auto-installed Encoder yesterday. It worked fine yesterday... but not today... dunno why

Thanks Warren! I don't know why Adobe lets you update encoder, when it should be 'married' to AE. Target bitrate is what I was thinking of, to adjust resolution vs. size.

First is Magenta Background (so I know when the key works) Second is subject (this version has no color/graphics, but you get the idea of what I want to crop) Third is 'Mask' footage - basically the black is for the subject, and the Cyan is what should be 'see through'...

How do I copy a Keyed area (using Keylight) from one Layer to another in the same project? I have multiple versions of a colourful oject in the center of the frame, and I have a Cyan and black version of the footage, where I want to delete the Cyan. I've done so, using Keylight, but I am unsure how to copy the 'mask' it makes to the other layers... is this even possible?

Right-click on your sidebar folder and show in enclosing folder <this is how I was able to view the version of the Library shown on the right>. I'm guessing its routed to the system library. The other way is to change your Finder View menu to show the path bar. <how do I do that?>

In the attached image, on the left, it shows the Library that I access via holding down the Option key, and then selecting in the 'Go' menu. On the right, it shows the <same?> Library accessed via the sidebar-saved version... I have zero idea why the two Librarys are different!

I only found it through this process: 1. Launch Colorsync Utility 2. Find Colorsync folder via menu - save in sidebar 3. Now I can copy into that folder which wwas previously invisible no matter what I did!
