After Effects 'unlinks' from Media Encoder - despite re-installing AE

After Effects 'unlinks' from Media Encoder - it's not recognizing that I've sent something to render.

I uninstalled AE (and Encoder), then re-installed AE, and it auto-installed Encoder yesterday. It worked fine yesterday... but not today... dunno why

Are there any error messages? Does it happen with all the projects? Please try running After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled.

I do not have any third-party plug-ins...

Could you try running After Effects in Safe Mode and see if that brings any change? What effects are you using in the project? Also, what are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)?
