Yeah this isn't the issue of this thread.

For me this did nothing. I have completely uninstalled the entire CS and reinstalled. I have also upgraded to the latest which essentially installs the new version and removes the old. Still happens.

Ah bummer. Most of the time it does work for me, but occansionally I'll still have to close PS to get the cursor back.

Try hiding PS when not using. That has helped a little for me. Although another annoying bug is that sometimes the Hide function in PS is not even available.

This is still happening to me as well. Anytime PS is open, after a period of time, the cursor in apps like a web browser, don't turn to the hand when hovering over links. What I have found can helps sometimes, is hiding PS (CMD + CONTROL + H). With PS hidden, the cursors seem to work as expected (most of the time). Doesn't always work sadly.

Yup, same behavior here. Thanks for testing this. I always use the application frame.

On the latest version of Photoshop 25.4.0 on MacOS Sonoma 14.3, when you have an edited document, the red stoplight in the menubar does NOT indicate an unsaved change with a dot in it. This is what it looks like with an open document that has an unsaved change in 25.4.0: This is what it is supposed to look like with unsaved changes, and how it does look on PS 25.3.1:

I can confirm that Sonoma 14.2.1 has resolved the issue of LRC and importing via iPhone.

I wonder if this is similar to my report of LRC not detecting an attached iPhone to import: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lightroom-classic-not-detecting-iphone-after-macos-sonoma-14-2/td-p/14292179 Seems something in macOS 14.2 has caused this because everything still works on an older version of macOS for me. In my case I can confirm the iPhone is connected to the computer, it's just LRC that can't see it.

After updating to macOS 14.2 (M1 Max Mac Studio), Lightroom Classic does not detect or see a connected iPhone. The iPhone is seen by macOS. It appears in the Finder, and Apple Photos is able to import. Photoshop is also able to detect and use the conntected iPhone. Lightroom Classic does not see the connected iPhone at all during an import.

Yes I have and generally most things helped.....some.....but overall performance compared to CS5 is really disappointing. Thumbnails definitely still an issue even after 13.0.1.
I was also hoping with Creative Cloud that Adobe would be pushing out performance updates and tweaks a lot quicker. We've only had 1 minor update to PS since it was released in May! I though this cloud thing was to allow for faster updates?

On my Mac Pro 10.8.2 with 16GB of RAM and the ATI Radeon HD 5870.....my performance on Photoshop CS6 is still awful. Even the interface is laggy in places.

Can we get an update on the fixes for the "known" issues affecting CS6? Like the layer thumbnails?
CS6 was released on May 13......that's over 3 months ago. I thought with Creative Cloud Adobe was going to be more active in patching and adding to the products.
I find it ridiculous that not even a minor point release has happened in over 3 months to the flagship product!
Seriously starting to lose faith in Adobe.......they are moving far too slow. You are getting my money every month and I expect frequent updates to address known issues.

I can confirm on my machine that pressing Tab to hide all the panels is about the same as hiding the layers by selecting Channels. Thanks for the tip.
My CS6 install is standard....no Flash panels or Mini Bridge open.
At this time of testing I also rebooted the machine and had NO apps open except CS6.
Please Adobe...this isn't a machine issue....it's a CS6 issue. On the day of release I worked on my main document in CS5....no problems. I upgrade to CS6 and it has issues with moving layers. Same machine, same specs, same day.
Hiding the layers helps solve the problem.
Turning off the thumbnails isn't an option....I need them. Please Adobe stop saying this is a user machine issue and start realizing that this is a CS6 issue.

I sure hope Adobe considers turning off the thumbnails a "temporary workaround".

Chris,
So Adobe is aware of a "thumbnail problem" within PS CS6?
Is this being addressed for a future update?

The "layers thumbnail slowdown"?
So this is a known issue?
You are correct....it doesn't slow down other aspects of the app....but it sure slows down what I DOING in the app. I can't move a simple text layer without it being choppy...unless I turn off thumbnails or change palettes.
I sure hope Adobe realizes this is new in PS6....and that it IS a big issue that needs to be corrected.
Please don't make me regret my upgrade.

So after looking at this thread I see both Windows and Mac cases, as well as both NVIDIA and ATI.
So how is this not a Photoshop problem?
And how is it that when I select the Channels tab...the problem goes away?

Small percentage or not......I UPGRADED to a product that clearly has a bug and is causing worse performance.
Adobe has provided a few workarounds (thanks).....and clearly this has to help diagnose the issue.....now I'm hoping they don't let this issue lag.
And BTW....I experience this on my Mac Pro 2010 with the ATI 5780.....while my files have a lot of layers.....they aren't huge in file size (190 MB) or dimensions.

Seeing similar issues here with CS6 and large fiels with lots of layers.
Turning off thumbnails or switching to the Channels palette help responsiveness....but overall it seems a bit more sluggish than CS5 did.

Just found this topic....I'm having this issue as well on the release version of Photoshop CS6. I'm assuming this wasn't fixed before it was released?
I'd like to add that everything feels sluggish with the layers panel open. Even scrolling in a doc with a lot of layers is faster when you switch to the Channels palette or turn thumbnails off.

How exactly will this work? After installing the trials, on Friday will we essentially get a valid serial number to enter to activate? Couple of other questions: 1) The CC versions are the same as the regular purchased versions correct? 2) Creative Cloud just gives you a different type of license correct? 3) And with creative cloud...there is no more "Suite" install correct? Everything is installed as a standalone app? 4) There's no downside in downloading and installing the trial is there? -Kevin
