yes, he used the downloaded cleaner tool. after that he re-installed LRC first and both my cut/paste & preset problems were fixed. after we ended the session i re-installed the creative cloud apps i use. he didn't indicate that the order of re-install was relevant and they all seem to be working fine. ... i contacted adobe tech support by phone yesterday (after several hours of waiting and multiple disconnects) i finally was able to do a remote session with an adobe tech support person. his solution was a manual cleanup, which uninstalled all my adobe apps and used an online adobe cleaner tool to remove all adobe related files, prefs & old install files from the mac (excluding the apps that was 25 gigs of stuff). we then did a clean install of all my adobe apps, minus prefs which may have been corrupted. this process took over an hour but it fixed the LRC settings cut/paste and the preset "bugs". i'm a fairly knowledgeable mac system user and could watch and follow what he did but it was nothing a "civilian" could have done and wasn't a problem that could have been dealt with in a chat. interesting to me that i had previosly done a LRC uninstall and reinstall through the creative cloud app but this apparently doesn't really uninstall previous files that may be problematic/corrupted and left behind in successive updates and installs.   ... sheesh, what a friggin' disappointment. the installed update which is called 14.1 release did not fix the copy/paste settings bug here and it still gives the same error message as previously noted over a month ago:  some masking models failed to download. please try again later additionally i get that same error message, as previously reported, when i try to apply either LR presets or my saved presets. as noted in my orignal post i'm on a macbook pro, M1 max chip running Sequoia 15.1.1. also installed the non-classic LRoom update and neither of those bugs are present with it.  any suggestions for me Rick? i'm interstecd to see if the update solved the problems for others who have reported it earlier.  ... the suggestion is to sign in to your account through your creative cloud application and then relaunch LRC. try it, didn't work for me. the presets still don't work and my saved presets don't work either. still get the message:  some masking models failed to download. please try again later. this as well as the failed cut/paste settings bug is still persistent as i think you also have encountered. ... don't know if they are monitoring but they definitely know about the problem as a bug. it makes editing and matching groups of photo settings impossible. i've been doing that kind of editing in non-classic LRoom where the copy AND paste settings works.  ... View more

the copy/.paste problem is not intermittent here, it consistently fails and gives the same error message:  "some masking models failed to download. please try again later" (someone did manage to correct the spelling in the error message from pease to please). have tried isolating different check boxes (ie crop, mask settings) of what gets copied in the copy dialog but it always fails with that same message. sync settings doesn't work either. any suggestions on the failed presets which also give the same error message? ... Same problem on a mac M1 laptop OS Sonoma 14.7, 32 gigs ram. Since the 14.0.1 update copy/paste settings doesn't work and gives the (mis-spelled) error message: "some masking models failed to download. pease try again later." have tried restart while signed into my account, resetting prefs. this is a compunded problem that has existed since since LRC 13 which was getting that same masking error message when trying to apply any of the presets. this occurs even when there are no masks in the copied settings. adobe pease try to fix this or give me a solutuion. btw, the same mask error message appears when using sync settings between pictures to try and get around the copy/paste proble,. adobe pease fix this.  ... i'm still having this problem with masks crashing LR classic 13.0.2. it was intermittent previously but now select subject seems to consistenttly crash LR from either the mask window or the create mast tab. selecting brush mask also crashes sometimes. have tried keeping the select subject window closed but doesn't help. using LR 13.0.2, camera raw 16.0 on a Macbook pro M1 max with 32 gigs of ram. this has been happening to me also. i have LR classic 10.4 on an older iMac that can't be upgraded to the current version. i also have the current LR classic and  LR reg on a newer laptop and on the phone. whenever the older version syncs to one of the newer versions it wipes out any edits that used gradient masks or brushes which is virtually all my edits. i think it's related to the upgrade and enhancements they made recently to gradients and masks and their incompatibility with older edits that used previous versions of the masks/brushes. i usually have snapshots of my final edits so can use them to get back what the edit should look like. have had to stop syncing between the cloud and my different LR versions on different devices to avoid this for the time being. not sure if your problem is a similar issue but it is troublesome to say the least.  ...
