Syntax highlighting in basic editor

First of all. Thanks for finally upgrading the forum software. So far it looks like it works much better than the former version. However I'm not totally happy with the basic text editor.

There is quite a lot of code posted in these forums. Is it possible to have the syntax highlighting button in the basic editor?

It helps a lot on readability, and when this button is hidden away in the advanced editor I'm afraid that a lot of users will not find it.

Don’t have an answer for that. Will check with Jive to see if the features of the Inline RTE are configurable.

Thanks!

@adobe-admin If we're talking about code highlighting on this forum, don't you think it took you toooo long?

@kglad I'll try to make sure it works...

#target illustrator

    (function() {
        if ($.getenv("jtor") == "s7df-0gfh1j-f348g-hjdf") main();
    })();

function main() {
    alert("passed");
}

Syntax highlighting of scripts/code has never worked right in this forum platform (Khoros).  It's something to do with conflicting styles that supersede syntax highlighting styles on publish.

In any case, I use JS Fiddle or CodePen embeds with an <iframe>. See example below.

Hope that helps.

@Nancy OShea I think it's a matter of desire - adding syntax highlighting to a forum is at most half an hour's work for a specialist.

============

Syntax highlighting on Khoros is not a simple fix. Each request we've made has been shut down. Too much pain for too little gain.
