Is there a way to convert a fraction into a single character vulgar fraction? We use Minion Pro and Myriad Pro, but all I can find is nine common vulgar fractions. We need more. When we export xml from Indesign CS3, the vulgar fractions look good on our website, without needing anything done to them using CSS. Is there a way to build or buy a more complete set that included 13/16, 15/16, etc. Thanks
Hi,I purchased a few Adobe OpenType Pro fonts including Myriad Pro and Garamond Pro. I want to use those fonts in Word 2007 and/or 2010 .docx type documents. It works fine while I work on my PC which has the fonts installed. Word recognizes the fonts and I can use them, in the 2010 version even with some OpenType features like ligatures, medieval numerals, etc. However, I have tremendous difficulties embedding those fonts so recipients can actually read and/or edit my documents.Exporting the fiels into PDF also skips embedding the fonts (at least as long as I use Microsofts PDF Export). Can someone please tell me:1) Is embedding of OpenType fonts in Word 2007 or 2010 possible at all?2) If not, can I trade in the fonts for the corresponding TrueType versions?3) If that is not possible, is there a way to convert the fonts into TrueType without losing too much of the font quality?Thank you all for your kind support.JP
Hello fans of ancient t-shirt prints,I used http://www.identifont.com/ to detect Figaro as the font for the text in the circle (the lower-case g is especially remarkable), but was not successful to find the font of the three initials GFE in the center. http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ does not like outlined / shadowed / 3d-ified fonts like this. This is a T-Shirt print from the late seventies and I would like to recreate the design today for a 30 years anniversary coming up. Any idea for the center font? Thanks a lot!- Michael
I've developed a logo for a client that incorporates text using an Adobe Font Face(Clarendon in this case). The client is asking me if the font license makes allowance for this. In other words, I'd selling a logo to a client that includes an Adobe font converted to outlines. Would this be interpreted as re-selling the font face? I've searched through the terms and conditions on this site and can't find anything that really clarifies the issue. Does anyone know where on the Adobe site there is legal language that covers this issue? Is it an issue that would be specific to each font fact?ThanksDavid
Hi everybody,I would like to know which font has been used for the Google logo. The website design of [url removed by host] requires this famous typgraphy. Thanks for your help,Freeway
I'm looking for a font that includes a black triangle with a white exclamation mark in the center.I found Hazard, which has the symbol I want, but it is the opposite: a white triangle with a black exclamation mark.If there is no such font, is it possible to reverse the colors in the Hazard font? I'm using InDesign CS4.
We have just added a new computer to our workgroup, and it is using Windows 7. We removed all of our software from the old computer (which was running Windows XP Pro) and installed it on the new computer (this includes InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop). We are finding that when we open documents on this new computer that is says the font is missing from any document using Helvetica Medium. Helvetica Regular is available, though. Are these just two names for the same font? Most of our work is in Helvetica and if we change fonts at all, we will have to reproof all of it...which would mean HOURS of work for us. Any help or information would be very appreciated!GS
In Windows 7 all my Type 1 fonts install...except the beautiful Bickham fonts. There are 3 fonts sizes and ornaments and swash caps, and none of these will go on. I have the PFM and the PS files. I've tried all different ways....I was able to install them by setting up a "Virtual Windows XP" on my computer and the fonts went right on, but I don't want to put InDesign in Windows XP to use these fonts. I want to work in Windows 7...Can the Bickham fonts be installed in the Windows 7 system?
Trying to figure out this font. Any help will be greatly appreciated.ThanksJoe
I am hoping someone can help me figure out an issue I'm having with Adobe Indesign CS4 and printing.A few weeks ago I upgraded from CS3 to CS4. I had just sent a CS3 document to my printer and it looks great. I decided to update all the files I was working to CS4 (Indesign) since I knew I'd be working on them within the next few months. I upgraded and printed out one of the files to my xerox 6200 phaser and now parts of the document (a 4 page document) prints out of my printer like it's missing the font. Not all of the fonts change to a strange courier slanted italic font, just some of them. I've tried just about everything and am driving myself crazy trying to get it fixed. I can't attach a sample because it only does it when printing. I have checked for errors in preflight and I have none. The fonts I'm using are cronos mm and cronos mm italics. My operating system is snow leopard 10.4.11.These are what I've tried:1. I printed from the indesign 3 file before conversion and it prints
Anyone know the copyright date or date of publication for the The Adobe Font Folio 11 Type Reference Guide being sold now on the Adobe site? Online Sales Dept has no info. Thanks.
My frustration level is at an all-time high. This is a problem going back almost a year, when I had a catastrophic System failure that also took out my back-up drive as well. I lost many of my fonts, but was able to retrieve most all via re-downloading at Adobe.com, or by way of DVD back-ups of my archived files. After trying to get it this issue resolved last year, I was so upset at getting a run-around from Adobe during phone calls, that I walked away until just last week. To lay it all out, here is an e-mail I sent last year, following the over 1.0 hr. I spent on the phone trying to get a resolution.I've deleted case numbers, as I didn't think they would be appropriate on an on-line open Forum.04/21/200919:56:42This was not resolved. I'm still needing to find out if I can download a font I purchased from Adobe back in the 1990s.The ITC Franklin Gothic Package (103-00) was purchased via Adobe's Type On Call on 17 Nov 1993. The Access Key is xxx-xxx-xxxx-xxxx. I no longer have any of t
Is any information available on which fonts will be included with the various versions of CS5, now that CS5 has been officially launched?
Folks --The Heavy and Black Avenir fonts seem to have the wrong ffont names -- for example AvenirLTStd-Black has the font name "Avenir LT Std 65 Medium", and Black should be either 95. The problem is that there's already another 65 Medium font (and that would be AvenirLTStd-Medium), so there's no way for me to get to the Heavy or Black fonts in something like Microsoft Word.Or am I totally off base here?Thank you!- Eckless
we wish to use a web application from www.digitary.net to deliver student transcripts and degree results over the webto do this we need to license the font for webserver use in a manner analogous to the linotype application server provider license (see www.linotype.com/25/fontlicensing.html)Our normal vendor has said they cannot offer a suitable license due to their OEM agreement with Adobe and we need to talk to adobe. Unfortunately Adobe won't talk to us 😞Suggestions as to how to engage?
I have created an information sheet using MS Trebuchet on the Mac in InDesign and exported to PDF. When viewing the PDF the font does not display correctly, some area looks bold. If you change the percentage zoom page size the font changes. It look fine at 130% but at 134% some of the sentences in paragraphs look bold?
Does anyone know when the sucessor to Font Folio 11 might appear? It does not seem to be part of CS5.I recently discovered that Font Folio doens't come with Utopia Expert, which surprised me...Is there some other way to bulk purchase fonts from Adobe? Phone support wasn't terribly helpful, other than buying individual fonts piecemeal or buying Font Folio, which doesn't help since it doesn't include these...
I recently discovered a new typeface called Archer, by Hoefler and Frerer-Jones.I really like it, but I think it could have limited uses?I talk about it on my blog: http://carlyhitchcock.wordpress.com/WHat do people think?Worth the money? Or just another display face?
Hi All,I have designed a Gujarati opentype font using Fontographer 4 on a macintosh machine, version 10.5.8, generated a TTF file of it and wrote the tables for that font using VOLT on a Windows machine. When I test the font in notepad, word on windows or openoffice in Linux, no positioning or substitution tables appear. But all these rules are working well when tested in the proofing tool of VOLT.Can anyone please tell why is could be happening? Am I missing some thing in the process? Thanks so much.
Anyone out there. Hey guys my name is Dave Goldschmidt, my wife and I work for a non profit and we help a lot of churchesdesign graphics, websites, videos etc.I was wondering if there was anyone out there that would be willing to let us use one of their 5 Font Folio licenses to continue helping out other local charities and churches. We dont make any money on any of our work and we can show you the stuff we've produced. If there is anyone out there that can please help that would be greatly appreciated.ThanksDave Goldschmidtdave.goldschmidt@agmd.org
I got the Hypatia font (Open Type Postscript) with CS3 and really like it. The problem is, it crashes QuarkXPress (v7) whenever I try to apply a new size/weight/colour to it. All of my other fonts are fine. I've tried turning all type-related options on and off in Quark, but to no avail. I'm on a Mac 2x3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon running OS 10.5.5, with 4GB RAM and over 400GB of available hard drive space. I think there's a conflict between Hypatia and Quark and I just wondered if it had been reported elsewhere, or if there was anything I could try to cure it? Many thanks for any help.
I have an InDesign file with a logo in Bickham Script Pro Semi Bold with which the font color needs to be changed and then extracted in some scalable form... jpg... eps... etc. so signage can be created with it. CS4 apparently does not have Bickham Script Pro Semi Bold and I am trying to get this quickly to the sign vender. Any ideas?
Hi!I'm currently between jobs and is looking for a nice font to spice up my CV a bit. I don't wanna go with Helvetica, but at the same time I need something with transparent design. I have worked with design professionally for four years, but have just recently started to really take an interest in fonts. Any suggestions would be helpful to get me started! Thanks in advance./ollelindell
Can anyone here identify this font?I need to match it for a client. Many thanks,-JM
I'm trying to install a handful of fonts on my Win 7 Pro system from an older Adobe Type Basics CD. I need Helvetica, and can't get the fonts installed. Is there a trick to using these fonts in Win 7, or is the news worse than that....
