At about 6:00AM, PDT, things were wonky in the Adobe Forums. All URL's led to Flex 4, which was closed, and Log-In was impossible.By about 7:30AM, PDT, the Forums were back, and I see that little +'s have been added, along with a few other "doo-hickies."Now, I hope that it's still a "work in progress," as there are some format issues. I will not bother doing screen-cap posts, as I feel that the Forum folk see them, and will tweak things. If not, then I will gather a few examples of this.Hunt
I personally don't like these new +++ signs next to my Member status at all.I myself give zero credence to the points system in these forums and I don't particularly want mine highlighted via these +++ signs. For those who like it, all well and good but to me it promotes an artificial and misleading pecking order or ranking. Is advice from a +++ Member better than advice from a ++ Member? Newbies might think so. I don't. I've often seen forum regulars give sub-optimal responses (me included). No matter. We're all learning. It's probably a forlorn hope but I'll ask anyway: is there any way of switching this off in the Forum Preferences and becoming a plain old Member again?
Yesterday I noticed that when I viewed a thread and then pressed the back arrow it does nothing. If I click the back arrow the second time it works and takes me back to discussion.Thinking it might by my computer I shut it down last night. But same problem occurs today. Not every time, but say 90% of the time.I can see the page icon blink on the first click and on the second click it does the "loading" message.Has anyone else noticed this?
It seems that the forums are now filled with small green (wo)men.Argh, not just most others.I am starting to feel different, dizzy or distant or something.Do the +/++/+++/++++ mean that some are greener than others?
I'm trying to reply to a message in the Acrobat-Javascript forum, but when I click on 'Reply', I get an error and the reply fields do not show up. They work in other messages on that forum. I rebooted my browser, but the same thing happens. Is there anything I can do to get the reply fields to show up?
I am a computer dummy. How do I download my photos from Adobe to a DVD Disc or USB Disk ?
While the forum skin is being redone, I have two requests that I hope to get integrated. I will post them in two different topics, so they can be easier addressed and discussed. In some forums, when starting a topic I see something like this under the editor windowI'm sure this can be easily added to any forum where it is useful. What I would mainly want is the operating system and browser information. However, my request regarding this:force the poster to at least tick one of thesemake this choice (at least the OS) visible beside the topic title in the forum overview or discussion list. The reason for this is that I am wasting so much time opening topics that I cannot answer because it is Macintosh related. Or Linux related. Or Android related. With the vast number of posts recently arriving in the Flash Player forum, this would be a great help for all involved.
I created a crest shape (closed path) with the pen tool. I would like to fill it with a gradient, but cannot seem to use the Live Paint Bucket to do the job. What am I doing wrong?
My user profile is incorrect. It says United States and it should be New Zealand.
A few questions about the new CS6 InDesign.1. Why did the Step and Repeat change so that it does not leave everything selected when you click OK? Is there any way to change that?2. Why are the OK and Cancel buttons switched when you are importing a file into InDesign? Small issue but when you have been doing the other way for years it just seems unnecessary to move it.Just wondering.
What is the counterpart of Autocad or 3D Max in Adobe?
When in adobe.com, it automatically logs me in...There I click on my name, select "My Information" and then I end up on this page:WHY?
I have the new Flashplayer. The problem is the same in Mozilla, Chrome and IE. I have disabled the recording device on Realplayer. When I play a video it skips. Example: I pledge all-e-e-e-e-e-e-giance to the f-f-f-f-f-f-flag of the United States of A---------merica. I have uninstalled flash. I do not have Skype. I cannot find anyone at Adobe who understands the issue. Any help? Thank you.
iLLUSTRATORHow can I change the workspace area from the dark grey (default?) to white (or light grey) as well as the pallets, windows and docks?
HelloI must have signed up for the security bulletins and advisories email notification service at least 5 times, using 3 different adresses, and never received anything. No, it's not in my junk folder.Has anyone ever gotten email from that service?I would really really like to have it, as the company I work for has a lot of adobe products and I would like to keep them updated! Please, fix it for us!
I want a combobox in the ckeditor.Anyone please tell the solution.
Hi, I don't think it is necessarily a good idea for "community members" to be able to post discussions to FAQ pages on the forums:In the LiveCycle Designer FAQ page, the top three posts are general questions, best placed on the main forum page. Questions posted on the FAQ page may not be seen or get answered. In addition, the answers may not be correct or as complete as one would expect in an FAQ. I think the FAQ page should be left to someone with higher "status". Niall
Hi, staff. 2 comments:1) There's no way to update your email address on the forums. I have a new address, and though I've updated it on adobe.com, the settings for forums.adobe.com still have my old one, and there's no way to change it.2) It's extremely difficult to find the "Start a discussion" button, to make a new thread. I'm a member on over 30 forums, and I can tell you that your average, non-forum-savvy user is going to have a really hard time finding it. (I know that in YOUR heads, its location is probably plain as day, and maybe even very logical... but that means absolutely nothing the mind of someone who is seeing this site for the first time, and doesn't "speak the language" of page design. (Besides, even if they did, they'd think the button would be on the left, and much larger.))I myself fumble around for it every time I come here. The layout doesn't follow any other forum or message platform I've ever come across.
I would happily add Polls to discussions, so there would be no need to Reply, but it's restricted somewhy.Kevin said in a discussion http://forums.adobe.com/message/4469268:We have: the product improvement program, feature requests, and a beta test program. That is how we listen to our users. We do not bias or influence our users in any way. All we do is listen. So why there's no way to create polls and do some statistics in Adobe Forums?
Hi, I’m very very new with javascript for in pdf document. I need a small javascript in my pdf file for next issue: As soon as I open a pdf document, a timer must startup, after x-seconds an app.alert must appears with 2 option button. This 2 buttons are OK and Cancel. Click on OK must navigate too my website.3 in 1: -timer function, -app.alert windows, -go-to-URLWhat I have tried, no result for this script. The problem is I can’t combines more scripts in one script. I can find separate timer function, app.alert function and go-to-url function on this site. But I can't put these 3 different issues in one script.
Hi,I am completely and utterly fed up with the customer service department. I need someone more substantial to contact and to share my complaints with. I was promised a free upgrade to CS6 from 5.5 before the time period on which the free upgrades actually started. Customer service keeps telling me I'm ineligible. However, I saved the conversation and have the proof that I was promised the upgrade, so it doesn't mean a thing that I bought it prior to the eligible date. Either the customer service agent that promised me the free upgrade lied to me or was not knowledgeable. Either way that is unacceptible and the fact that the customer service keeps acting like it's my problem is ridiculous. What kind of business allows their customer service to make promises and then doesn't follow through. If Adobe didn't have a monopoly on design software they wouldn't so readily treat customers as disposable objects.
For my login ID I used an email address that has now changed. When I logged on to change my profile, new email was not accepted. I know for sure noone else has this email address (work email address). What is the workaround?Who do I contact to fix this? Thanks,Laurence
