Using the Community

The box for "Search only this forum" seems to come and go as I navigate through the site.It's there when I first get to the site. It disappears when I click on a thread. It reappears when I click on the forum name in the breadcrumbs navigation. But when I click on the word Discussion in the breadcrumbs navigation, it disappears forever. I can click on all the breadcrumbs and it never comes back. The only way to get it back is to click on Adobe Forums then find my way back to the forum I was viewing.

when i try to login in our dreamweaver website. it gives error message and states my login and password does not match.  but i did not put in a login and  password.  not sure how to fix

About half the time I post a reply with the web interface that quotes someone, the jivemacro attribute gets lost and the quote ends up looking goofy.It's supposed to look like this, which is visible in the HTML viewer as <pre class="jive_text_macro jive_macro_quote" jivemacro="quote">:Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetaur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Raw video files straight off of a DVD isn't compatible to Premiere Pro CS4. So what I usually do is, I encode it through Handbrake to maintain high quality. All of a sudden Im getting difficulty with Handbrake. When I import it through Premiere only a fraction of the video gets shown. I have two question in regards to that...1) What could I be doing wrong?2) And does Adobe Premiere have a encoder program specifically for Premiere so that I dont have to use a program that may not be compatible to it?

First of all Thank you for your help.I have a random issue with CS5.  Every now and then when painting out on a mask transparency, the thumbnail visual does not show a representation of what was painted black.  It is as if there is a delay with CS5 registering the information, but my Mac system is new and bawny. The weird thing also is that I happens on my computer in the studio as well as at home. The only change I made to my preferences is changing the color of my transparencies to a solid white. Any clue what it is and how to get rid of it?

There's two of me! Both accounts have the same name. I've tried clearing cookies but it didn't work.Paul G. sent a request about this a couple of days ago but I haven't heard anything yet.

I need to export a 16x9, 720/30p CS3 project, for final viewing on a 4:3 projector in letterbox. *This project is about to kick off with a VERY short deadling and the shooters keep changing their mind about whether they're going to shoot in 720/30p or 720/60p. I need to plan for both to be safe. How will this effect things in my original 16x9 project setup if they give me both 720/30p and 720/60p video? And what about exporting for letterbox viewing in 4:3 if this occurs? I mean, if I start a project in 720/30p with CS3 and they bring me 720/60p video as well as 720/30p video, will I have to start a new project and start editing everything all over again, and vice versa? Also, how will this effect my final letterboxed 16x9 product? **I also have to provide this to the customer in 16x9 DVD format.

Long user names such as the one shown below create havoc with the display of a page.  Take a look at the Lightroom forum to see what I mean.So, my request:  Enforce the use of shorter user names or truncate the name when displayed on a forum page.And the name is (nothing personal intended):[email address deleted by host]

I am awfully sorry to post this here but does anyone know if there is a Test Forum somewhere where people can test something out?I want to test posting something from my email account using yahoo, AOL, and/or gmail so that I don't have to rely on these slow forums.  I have tried using Hotmail but it is clearly failing and I have already posted the error message yesterday.  I must get this sorted out before the new week starts.I have searched everywhere but to no avail.Thanks you.

It took us the rest of the day to  reshelf them. Hundred thousands of people were stranded in Tokyo, as all trains  stopped. Food grew scarce very soon; most restaurants couldn't open  because the staff couldn't get to work. Supermarket and convenience  store shelves were empty. I have never seen empty shelves in Japan  before! For us in Tokyo it was more fun than disaster. But for the most affected  people in the North it is of course terrible! I asked DWILCOX01 to start a new thread when he asked about the forum email interface in All threads show up as read.I'm not sure why he didn't, but I am going to answer him here.The irony is the addressee is : "forums@adobe.com" and I can't see how this can get to the right forums!  There is absolutely nothing else to distinguish the message apart from the message itself.The Jive Clearspace software sets the Reply-To: header on email messages. Hi,The current forum software is awkward, unpractical and slow. The Search feature never worked correctly and now, the Read Tracking feature has disappeared, which makes the beast even more difficult to use.Why not use a standard forum software ? There are a lot of very good forum applications around that are quick, easy to use and that allow making effective searches. A non working search feature in these forums means more work for the support dpt. It seems that Adobe didn't understand this. So I'm wondering why they insist using this very strange thing.Not made in-house rejection syndrome?--Patrick

Virturally every time I quote someone I get gibberish at the top of the quote.  I'll demonstrate by responding to myself...I use Internet Explorer to access the forum.  As far as I know, there are no problems with it, though I'm pretty stingy about letting any sites run active content.  I'm not getting messages that an Add-on failed to run here, though.-Noel

I created a new thread, then went back to edit it to add an image.  Instead of success I got this highly descriptive error message:Clearly I have the ability to upload images, but apparently just not when editing the first post in a new thread.  I have been able to add pictures to response posts while editing them. I didn't notice until I tried to go find one of my old threads. O patient adobe_admin, can you fix my account again? I've tried all of the logging-out and cookie-removal techniques a number of times.Also, maybe it's time for an account-fixing megathread? I see plenty of threads like mine and it would make some sense to me if we could keep 'em all in once place.

Why is the german forum ( http://forums.adobe.com/community/international_forums/deutsche ) blocked?

On March 16  the forum software trashed my Photoshop Windows forum  profile.  Attempts to restablish my profile & history were unsuccessful following the process spelled out in the FAQ.In my case the account name stayed the same "Paulo Skylar" , no suffixes were added, but I have no history, no avatar, no photo,.....ADMINS :  I need someone to restablish my account on the above mentioned forum.Thanks,Paulo

Hey folks. I've been out since Wednesday.
