I called 800-642-3623 for Flex support yesterday (10/22). I went through the usual endless questions at the first level before I was finally "moved up" to the next level. The gentleman, and he was polite, mentioned that if I get disconnected that I can directly call support at 800-642-3623. I mentioned that is the number I called when I got him.Be that as it may, the next level had me repeat the basic information again. And then I was told that Adobe no longer supports Flex from the support center. Email was the only way they would help with the product. So my question becomes is Flex going to be dropped? Is Adobe going to go down?

Just curious if there is a way to track how many users have visited these forums per given day.I remember being able to view a page, go back 10 minutes later and there was a whole page full of new posts. Now I bet I see 10 new posts per day in each forum I visit (and that number is actually quite high).Just curious as to how the now numbers compare to the then numbers

If any hosts want to play Todie's game again, he's ready: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2293753#2293753
Jochem:There was no need to take that action, and to inform the OP of the "Virtual Machine" thread that you had done so.That was both extremely rude and totally unnecessary because the Thread would have ended naturally — probably after the OP had thanked people for their help. This was yet another example of why so many of us feel that you are not suited to the job of "Moderator".What you have to learn is that you are seen by Adobe's Customers as part of "Customer Service" and acting as you did just helps to build resentment against Adobe at a time when they have every reason to be concerned about the appalling standard of their "Customer Service".This Forum has no need for this over-bearing form of "Moderation" — a Forum HOST, with a friendly demeanor and some real knowledge of technical issues (and without a meaningless "Community Expert" badge!) might be a different matter.
When I'm on the second page of posts, enter a discussion, then hit the browser back button to go back to the list, it takes me back to page 1 every time.Is it just me?(Using Firefox 3.5.3 on a Mac running 10.5.)
Here's a link to a poster / user who's obviously been at the receiving end of the auomatic logging out syndrome of the new forums:http://forums.adobe.com/message/2116748#2116748I dare say, the problem would be more highlighted if people knew where to comment about it. I suspect most users suffer it...or just wander away after a while of frustration.Anyway...
If I'm in a forum and notice I'm not logged in, and go to do so, I now get sent to the Forums main page instead of back to where I was. Irritating.
Logging into the firums is a strange experience. When I visit the forums page and click the "login/register" link below the page title, I am brought to a page that asks me to type in my username and password. I type them both, and I am then brought to a page which states "A screen name is required to continue. Please enter a screen name." I already typed this when I logged in, but OK. I type my screen name, and I am told that "this name already exists".I have no idea why I would need to type it twice (and without a password the second time). Either I'm logged in or I'm not - make up your mind. It is very confusing and misleading. I was able to log in by quitting my browser (therefore starting a new browser session at adobe.com) and logging in using my e-mail address for the name in stead of my screen name. If the system creates confusiuon like this, then it is broken. Either require a screen name for login, or require an email address. This system of supporting both is clear
It used to work fine. Now all I can do is use the camera thingy to put a picture up, upload, and I get to see it for a split second before *BLAM*-- the Chrome tab crashes.Good one, you Jive losers. You win at incompetence! Great success!
I am going to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 with a clean install.I will have a backup of my hard drive. After I do the clean install of Windows 7 and install Elements 7 how do I get Elements 7 back to the way it was in Vista. I am particularly concerned about restoring all the Elements 7 tags. Thanks,Bob
Or the last few days I've been seeing threads show up as 'updated' - when they aren't, I've read the last post already. Especially when logging in from a different machine. Never used to happen. Is it just me?I thought at first I was mistaken and I'd seen the reply in an email notification, but it's not, it's also happening in threads and forums I'm not subscribed to.
Hi - I have recorded audio and slides for a presentation I gave using captivate. I need to edit the audio and would like to keep the slides in sync. How can I do this? I am able to edit the audio, but that puts the slides out of sync.1. How can I divide/split a recorded slide?2. Is it possible to simply cut out audio and "video"/parts of slides at the same time?3. I can shorten a slide from the back end, can I shorten it from the front end? Thanks for the help,John
I love the response by e-mail feature (mainly because I don't need to open the actual forums and log-in in order to write a simple response...), but it seems that it causes some privacy issues. Many people have in their signatures full contact details, including telephone numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses, and these get posted on the forums when they respond via e-mail.For example: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/508638?tstart=0Another thing that happens from time to time is that people don't realize they are responding to a public forum and post personal messages to other participants. Also, although more rarely, some people have their auto-away responses turned on, so for each post on the forum there's a "I'm not available right now..." post from that person.Maybe there should be a more clear indication in the email sent by the forums about what happens when you respond to it, as well as a warning against posting personal information...
Can anyone tell me if Adobe CS4 will run on my powerbook G4 which contains a G4 processor? I know it is designed to be used with a G5 processor, but does this mean that I have to purchase a new Mac in order to run the Adobe software?
I have asked a question a few days ago about Elements 8 and clicked answer by email. I clicked it again to turn it off but I keep getting more emails it does not turn off.I keep getting more emails every day about everything .Help
If my children ask me what life was like before computers were invented I will send them here. Before computers you were at the mercy of your own memory as nothing was saved anywhere unless you wrote it down, and that may have been misplaced or blown away by the wind. You also had to wait, maybe a week or a month, before you would see cousin John so you could ask him a question about something. You might forget what it was you wanted to ask cousin John by the time you ever saw him again, things might have changed anyway. Before computers things were slow, incredibly slow, but nobody knew they were slow because they were too busy drinking a real milkshake at the soda fountain and didn't want to rush thing anyway. In conclusion, the forums are not all that bad, just have a real strawberry milkshake and enjoy,Ken

Hi,I know this must sound crazy, but I need to find a needle in a haystack -- in the summer of 2000 I posted on the Adobe Premiere Mac forums - it was a method of remapping the keyboard in Premiere 5.1c. I'm pretty sure my screen name was "Graham Jones" -- I had over 600 posts. It's possible it was "GrahamAJones" but I don't think so.Does anyone know how I can retrieve a copy of that post and/or thread? If it helps in searching, it talked about modifying the "keyboard.txt" file. It's a long story, but I need evidence of that post for my green card application, and I am stumped without it.Thanks,Graham Jones.
Gosh, it seems like there are a number of us who got reported. I'm amazed, really, as I haver *never* been reported for abuse in the 10 years I have been on this forum. Yeah, these forums have changed and I am not convinced it's for the better.
This thread:http://forums.adobe.com/message/2308051#2308051was locked by Jochem van Dieten as per his explanation here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/2309043#2309043While i agree that the thread had probably become quite unhelpful to the OP, i disagree with locking it. It was a discussion on how best to help people who wander in here by mistake or ignorance or whatever. It is possible that a continuation of the thread would have led to some kind of consensus, amongst some fairly knowledgeable people, as to how to deal with the problem. This is, after all, a problem that deal with the Adobe forum in general as well as this Forum in particular.I suspect that Mr van Dieten is taking a rather narrow perspective on the name. When this forum was dubbed Forum comments, i doubt very much that it was meant to apply only to this forum. After all, why create a forum to just comment on yourself? It was meant to comment on the forums in general. Probably the name should have been "Forums Comments"
Hi there,First post here, but basically looking to control our machine within our corporate network environment. As we are in the process of doing many things, one will be strict control of internet connection and wondering if Adobe provide the facility to upload to a central repo server and can distribute in a controlled manner, i.e, a bit like a WSUS server does Windows updates? Can anyone out there help? Thanks in advance.Alex
