Could any one explain how to correct my screen ID. at the moment it is showing a suffix of -Ua5m1NI have checked my profiles and there is nothing of this suffix shon in them. Can anyone fix this problem?
This thread has gone all funny.
Suddenly I am unable to open and preview pdf documents I've attached to email before sending. I am able to open these documents before I attach them, I am able to go to the sent mail box and open them after I have sent the email. I am using Adobe Reader 9.1, running Windows Vista, using Outlook 2007 for email. I tried switching to Windows mail but had the same problem. I was able to open & preview these documents up to about a month ago, then things changed. Does anybody know if there has been an update recently that might have caused this? Any idea how to fix?
Here's one for somebody to sort out: Gmail has started regarding email notifications from the forums as suspect. A header from a recent message:Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=hardfail (google.com: domain of forums@adobe.com does not designate 209.46.39.252 as permitted sender)209.46.39.252 is mail.sgaur.hosted.jivesoftware.com, the server sending the messages. The SPF result used to be 'neutral'. I wonder how many notifications end up in posters' gmail spam filters because of that 'hardfail'. It can't be too difficult for Adobe to publish an appropriate record.Noel
I have just found out that threads in this forum are archived after a month. This is really serious. We were told that the time limits of the fair forums would not apply to the new forums.John or whoever else can reopen the old threads, please do so. Some of them deserve to be revived as new knowledge appears. I was going to repost in a few of them. Too many valuable observations and suggestions will be lost.I wonder which hidden conditions apply to the other forums.
Just wanted to add my pi$$ to the wind..... I've never met a Jive forum that I like, and the Adobe implementation seems the worst. Hard to tell just what is the fault of Jive or of Windows Vista, which was recently imposed on me, but I'm most irritated at the unstable cursor control in the text input areas. It's getting really annoying.
This is the 1st one that is screwed up, look and the Last Post times. Seems to me like this forum also had some posts that were within the last week as well. Also I cannot get the 'mark all as read' to work on this one:2nd one in the Design Forums, check out the last post times again:
I change the layout of the Forum FAQ a bit. Since the FAQ is read-only for non-moderators I moved the actions down, I don't see the point in a Top participants widget since it is all managed by JC anyway, so I was able to give the discussions the full width allowed by the template:http://forums.adobe.com/community/general/forum_comments/faqHow do you like it? Is this something to try for the Forum comments forum as well?
Yup from the "Joke..." thread. These forums are rapidly going from the sublime to the ridiculous... specially with all these little, tin-pot Hitler's abounding.
Bumping up dropping threads used to be a common practice in these forums. It would seem that it is now no longer permitted:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/478660;jsessionid=BC814E41881DE7C0D331BB3F57014152.node0?tstart=0(and the polite "Please" doesn't help me in adding anything new).
please allow the forum to resize in width.
I explained here458.why I was abandoning my long fight in defense of the forums in Spanish, now reduced to a single thread housing all Adobe products, including the ex Macromedia ones. I have now realized that I posted my message in a thread that nobody reads, and ao I wanted to at least bring the topic to the top of the list. However, as a result of the recent tests, the thread is now archived as so many, many others, and it cannot be bumped. So I am doing instead what was suggested as a solution to such problems: I am opening a new thread.
I got this notification from the Indesign forum this morning:From: John BoydenDate: 07 August 2009 03:53orums.adobe.com/community/general/forum_comments]. The mod there collects bugs and this one sounds juicy.Since I didn't get notification of my reply, I visited the forum to see what had happened, and there's no sign of either post. I suppose the OP might have deleted it - although he might have waited a few more hours before changing his mind. Or a mod might have done so since it was OT for the forum it was posted in. Either way, it's a frustrating business for someone who goes to the trouble of responding, and I don't think it would be too difficult for the forum to bounce a message like mine straight away with a note that the message I was responding to has been deleted. If it's been moved, then the response should follow it.Noel
I have a potential client who wants to know what the meta tags are in some one else's site. How would I find them?
Been wondering when this problem was going to happen and here it is...I am using a Numark IDJ2 and of course the cross faser has done it's usual trick of not working properly! When i pull it all the way to the right channel, the music goes silent i have to budge it a bit to the left. Are there any fixes for this? If not How would i go about getting a new one or even better a completely different one that doesn't do it.It's the 3rd mixer unit i've had that's done it and now i've decided to take it up with you lot.. Should have done that ages ago! Could have saved a lot of money! Thanks guys.Mart.
jochemd wrote:Since despite the plethora of messages nobody is even attempting to provide any arguments or suggestions towards improving the FAQ, this thread is being locked. Since the only currently provided reason for changing the FAQ is rather pointless in light of the overal rules, I am not updating the FAQ.The problem with this is that you're assuming that nobody new is going to come along with a question or addition that will put the thread back on topic--it happens all the time. So if someone comes along, sees the original post, and wants to comment--now they have to create a new thread like this. Why waste the time locking the thread?Ramón G Castañeda wrote:The Forum etiquette and best practices page contains something I had not noticed before. It just keeps getting better and better... If you're going to do a "scheduled maintenance" on the site and it might prevent people from logging in, post the announcement BEFORE you do it, not when it's nearly over.
Hello, I want to be able to have my font type into a semi circle or expand like above. Is there a way to mulnipulate text? Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Everyone:If I am on the 'discussions page' but I have not chosen a specific discussion and I click 'Receive email notifications,' will I receive emails for 'all' of the topics under that discussion group? If I only want emails from a specific topic, should I click on the dicussion topic and then click 'Receive email notificatins?'Secomd, under 'Your stuff, Preferences, Email notification preferences,' it gives an option to 'always subscribe via email to threads I create' and always subscribe to threads that I reply to.' If both options are checked 'Yes' then why do I still have to check 'Start email notifications' under each topic? What is the difference between 'always subscribe to emails I create' and 'start email notifications?'I appreciate the assistance.
Try sending a PM to this guy and see what you get in the "To:" field...http://forums.adobe.com/people/-%3DStefan%3D-The reason is that the "=" character is not properly escaped in the link.
OK, here goes. For a long time there has been little or no evidence of any hosts, moderators or Adobe employees in here. John C and kanguyen make very welcome appearances from time to time, and both show an immaculate attitude, but little happens to improve things - although thanks to those who made a proper sticky about the use of this forum. We have been relieved of a host who was allegedly a Community Expert in 'Creative Suite', but had apparently fulfilled none of the criteria for a Community Expert - such as being an expert in something. Nor did this person have more than a very wobbly grasp of how the forums actually work. With zero credibility, said person annoyed people by moralising and lecturing at them.So now we have a pretty bolshy group of people who are sitting about, kicking their heels, hoping against hope that someone will sort out this buggy, defective software. Many have made very detailed, constructive suggestions and requests, others have gone to the trouble of makin
Why do I receive posts for the discussion topic ’Shockwave for Windows 7’ to my email address when I did not even create it or reply to it?I went into the discussion and clicked 'Stop email notifications to my email' but why did I receive messages about this discussion in the first place?Shouldn't all 'discussion groups' have the default 'Start email notifications' as the link? I created a 'related 'Shockwave' discussion group but I solved my inquiry and clicked 'Stop email notifications' and I stopped receiving emails about it.
I am new to making video projects using Final Cut Pro. I was unable to import my project (which is HD1080i format) to Final Cut so Iimported it to iMovie but now I need to move it into FCP. When I go to export the file (as a .mov), I have the option to deinterlace the original file.I am not sure if I should do this or if it is something I should only do in FCP. Also, I am wondering how long it should take to export from iMovie to FCP.
Okay this notification at this particular point is a duplicate to the one I read last evening.http://forums.adobe.com/message/2164560#2164560I will edit and add other duplicates as I run across them.what seems to be happening is the last post read in a thread from a previous day is used as first post in a new batch of notifications the next day sometimes it further up and maybe the last to or three threads are actually new.
Occasionally a thread from some time ago jumps up the chronological list. I think I know why. It's just happened to a post I had not started, but had contributed to. Although the last reply was a few days ago and not by me, the thread was shown ahead of many more recent posts, and I was allegedly the most recent contributor - not so.I had just received an email about a rejected claim of abuse against me in that thread. So, some action by a moderator pushed it out of position and messed up the 'last contributor' indication.Probably something similar explains why a 3-month-old post is currently showing at the top of the Testing sub-forum. Another jolly little quirk
