This is a proof of concept posting to show how one can modify the format and layout of an Adobe Community web page. This user tip shows you how to load a user style sheet into FireFox to make the Adobe Community web pages more readable. Much white space has been eliminated. Hiroto, an Apple Support Community contributor, did the initial implementation for the Apple Support Community. I've done some modifications for the Adobe Community. More work needs to be done. These changes are directed at the Firefox web browser. With the movement of the @-moz-document tag data to a User Content Manager, the css file should work with Chrome and Safari.DisclaimerThis program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. I've been trying to help out all day in the Photoshop forum, given the new releases that have come out today.I'm running Windows 8.1 and IE11. Current software, though not the world's most popular. All day I've been plagued by such issues as:The editor randomly eating phrases when doing things like trying to bold some text or delete one character. This happens OFTEN.Inability to delete things.Inability to type below a quoted message.Images inserting in the wrong place.Login prompt popping up and replacing the editor (only here in the Forum Comments section so far).Inability to jump to the most recent post in a multi-page thread from Discussions view.Do any of you Adobe folks in charge of keeping this forum up to date actually use it any more? John C? What's going on. I'm a patient person but this is beyond what I've had to deal with before. It's basically non-functional to be brutally honest.Just before posting this I added adobe.com to the list of si
Can you assist with deleting a discussion?
I really want to give both respondents credit. Two very different ways of tackling my Illustrator problem, both very cool. I can't decide.... what should I do?
Hello,Since the recent change in the UI of these Jive forums, suddenly my real name 'Lieve Weymeis' is displayed instead of my much better known screen name 'Lilybiri' in the Captivate community. This is not the case for the other participants. I checked my Preferences, and they seem to be correct: screen name visible to everyone, not real name. Can you help me out?Lieve Weymeis AKA Lilybiri
With all of the crazies on the internet, I really don't want my name showing up. I tried the way listed in another discussion (editing communities profile, marking "yourself" as the only one who could see the name), but when I checked it, my name still showed up to everyone. How can I prevent this from happening? Thanks for your help.
Previously the creator of a thread and the last person having posted there were listed, now it seems to be limited to the creator. I myself take less interest in threads that have already received attention and suspect that some others may feel likewise. So even if post 1 is by the creator themselves (adding some clarifications for example) I can’t see that immediately and am less likely to even check out that thread. I guess the Forum administrators should be able to determine if more threads have been contributed to by only two people since the last Form update (which might also be an indicator of other problems though). Maybe (hopefully) others do take a different approach than me, but I think reinstating the listing of creator and last poster to a thread in both Content and Overview would benefit the Fora. Anyone else wants to share their opinion on this?
Someone set up my account for em to show me something on it and how it works and now I'm stuck with this name that sounds to sassy for computer problems! Any advice would be appreciated... thank you!!
Can someone please help me to remove a screen shot from my post?
Hello, has the community for Adobe in another language too: the Dutch language? My English is no good )-:Thank you.
I'm not the best writer in the world so forgive me if my story seems boring.MY STORYI always enjoyed using Adobe products at my previous jobs. They are so intuitive and easy to use. I decided that i would use my hard earned money and buy a copy to start up a small business of graphic design. I was looking forward using their products and starting up a small business. My horrible experience happened when i clicked on the "order now" buttonThis is my story, experience, and advice to Adobe and to anyone else who is thinking about purchasing software from AdobeMY EXPERIENCEIt happened in July 2014. I had to go through a lot to purchase the software. When i tried to order it, it said there was an error in my order. It gave me a number to call. Okay. Called up but the number wasn't working. hmmm that's wierd. After going to the bank and figuring out that my online purchase wasn't high enough i thought that would fix the problem. After a stressful week, i went online and purchased the software.
Copyright symbol © not accepted by the forums except by pasting it? ??? !! I had never noticed that before, and I've been in the forums since at least 2006 that I can verify.
I found how to unfollow everyone, yet I am being inundated with afterFXs threads! (I would have posted this in a Jive community, but I didn't see one)I checked the Jive documentation, but could find an answer. The documentation is not great IMO. The slow response time I experience when navigating from page to page to page on this forum makes finding /exploring Jive features very painful.Any help is greatly appreciated.
I guess Adobe is using Typekit.com for fonts. That's just a guess.use.typekit.com is preventing these forum pages from loading. If I don't do anything, the browser just sits, logo spinning, doing absolutely nothing. I have to click on my bookmark to Google, then immedately hit the BACK button, to get anything to load.Could Adobe please fix this? Host the font locally, if you must. But typekit.com is flipping out seems like every other day, and it's having a serious impact on being able to post questions.BTW.. still hate the "new" forum. I'd rather go back to the old forum, than this.
Every few minutes I get this error message here in the forums:What is it supposed to mean? I remember a month ago that I received "2" errors; what will happen when we get to "0"?
How can I tell if new posts have been added to a thread I've already read? How can I tell who the latest poster in a thread is?Why is it that an outfit the size of Adobe with some of the best software on the planet has some of the clunkiest forums on the internet? C'mon. Fix it.
Can someone please remove a specific reply I made yesterday in the "AS3 URLLoader.log not working" question? It's reply #9, made at 12:07.It includes a URL with my client's name and it doesn't add to the discussion. Thanks in advance.
HI AllI am trying to discover how to change my screen name in the forum. When I set up my account I had trouble finding a screen name not already in use, got frustrated and hit enter and ended up with the weird gibberish name that you see here.Any ideas anyone?
Hi,Can someone tell me how I can delete my posts and any reply's to them, as people googling the site name can see the posts and my issues. This including a client who is very upset that they can all be seen. Thanks, help needed urgently.Annie
Hi,Regarding to this screen:how it is possible to collect a points with sum other than multiple of 5?is a "possitive feedback" (1 pt) added to some chosen members only?Jarek
Several items:1. I just noticed in the Acrobat forum, when I open a topic list I am in an Overview mode. However, there is no way to go beyond the one page of posts. To get to more posts I have to go to the Content Tab. This looks like a serious oversight on the development of these new forums that I had not noticed before.2. It would also be nice to have a next button for going to the next discussion in a topic list and not have to backup. That used to be the norm, but was never setup in the Jive version of the forums.3. With this latest update, we get taken to the beginning of a discussion, even if we have been there many times. Going to the most recent post seems to be much more natural.4. A lot of the features for bookmarks (mine) and such are impossible to find if there at all. I have bookmarked several things, but have no idea how to find them later. A lot of the menu options that were
I find it nearly unbelievable who terrible this forum system is.I think there is a ton of useful information here, but it is just so difficult to read and follow, it ridiculous.Come on Adobe. I cannot get over the fact that both this forum, and the now horrible ColdFusion Wiki, do not support code formatting in posts. Its such a common feature in other forum systems. Why adobe, why?
Does the translator really work for some? I chose English.
I have just posted a message with an image in this same forum, using IE/Win 7. It was taking too long in loading,so in the meantime I went to my Mac, opened this forum, saw that there was a new post in that thread, so I opened it to find that mine was the new message! And IE was still showing the Loading sign...
I noticed last week that I could no longer log into these forums in IE--it hangs with a script timeout and won't let you enter your login. Oh, well, whatever, I don't need these forums to do my job. If I really care I'll just use FF.Today, I tried to use the API docs, and that hung at loading the filters. You know, the ones that actually let you SEE the content? So none of the properties or methods of the object I was looking for would load, because your stupid docs are set up to restrict what people see based on something most people don't even know about. I get why you do it, but it causes way more harm than good. Especially when your crap is BROKEN. Yeah I said crap.I know that it's fashionable among the startup script kiddies to just decide not to give a rat's if people are using a browser that you're too incompetent to figure out, but really, Adobe, you're an enterprise company. We all get that your heart is still in print and that you don't completely "understand" the web. Howeve
