Video Hardware

I have a question...do I need to purchase a GPU that has been recommended by Adobe?  I would like to get the GeForce GTX 1070 but this card and many others that I'm interested in are not listed.  I just want to make sure I make the best choice for fast rendering and no crashes!  I currently have the Radeon R9 370 installed and with the new update of Premier 2017, it crashes all the time!  Very frustrating.  I do know this card is not recommended by Adobe.Any help?Thanks..my system:Moved to Hardware forum by mod.

Does anybody have a good recommendation for a Nvidia graphics card on an older 2009 Mac Pro?  Looking to speed up renders and exports of 4K footage primarily.I think I have it narrowed down to the Nvidia GTX 980 Ti or the GTX 970.  Are these confirmed to be supported for Premiere 2015 and my 2009 Mac Pro?I've heard that the TI is overkill though on the 2009 Mac, but don't know why exactlyAlso, I am incredibly confused on the differences between all the different types of cards within each model.  So for example, the GTX 970 has a ASUS STRIX, an MSI, EVGA, ZOTAC... I can't figure out how these are different and which one to go with.

Hello,I am looking to purchase a new laptop/portable device that I can use the Adobe applications.   I decided to center my focus on finding one that can run Premiere well, as well as After Effects (and Cinema 4D, if possible).I was personally thinking about the Surface Book (one of the i7/16GB versions).  It seems easy to transport and light.I could also go the laptop route.  I have a good deal to get a discount off a Dell computer.Which would you recommend?  If the laptop, which one would you recommend (preferably Dell).Thank all in advance for your time.- Jason

I recently bought that graphic card and I was sure it's gonna be supported by the Premiere Pro. But as it turns out it's not. I can't turn on my GPU support and further editing just can't be done due realy bad performance of premiere pro.Is there any solution to work Premiere Pro Properly or do I have to change my graphic card?

I would like to have live full screen HD playing of my HDMI output from my camera attached via the Intensity.  With the Intensity hooked up it works with their Media Express and shows me the live video feed with a midsize screen display but not full screen.   Has anyone found a way to view this live signal in Premiere?   Or any other player? I think On Location may have done this.  Not sure if Prelude can show live video??

I'm in the market for a new mobile workstation, for Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, C4D, Red Giant plug ins, and perhaps to start using Da Vinci in the future. I am also going to be working with RAW CDNG files, as well as ProRes 4444 soon, and I need something that can handle the workload. I travel a lot for work, it has to be a laptop. won't be used for anything but video/ photography work. I've put together a machine on pcspecialist.com, so if anyone had any insights on things that it is lacking, or things that I don't actually need on there, I'd  love to hear them. Hi all,I was going to get the new 15 inch Macbook Pro (2016) but was turned off by it's lack of ports. So, it's got me looking at the 2014 and 2015 models with maxed out specs.The 2015 has:AMD Radeon R9 M370X and the 2014 has:GeForce GT 750M with 2GB of GDDR5I noticed on Adobe's page only the 750 is supported.  Considering the processors are fairly similar, would I be looking at better premiere pro performance in the 2014 model?I'm upgrading from a 2013 13 inch macbook pro with integrated graphics. So, I understand I won't be looking at night and day performance changes, but I am looking for the abillity to edit 4k, because the 13 inch has trouble with that. Thanks!

Hi, Last year I built a new system for editing 1080p video using Premier Pro & Encore CS6 as follows gigabyte ga-b85m-ds3h-a intel i7-4790k 4GHz 16GB ddr3 1333MHz Corsair cx v2 500w psu Onboard Intel 5000 graphics 1GB It is not overclocked, I have tried changing it in the BIOS to 4.2 or 4.3GHz but it still stays at 4GHz, is this some weird motherboard issue? But it is actually rendering slightly slower than the older i7 we have i7-3770 3.4GHz 16GB DDR3 Nvidia GT640 2GB graphics card So the only real difference is the graphics card, but will that old graphics card really make any difference? But coming onto the main question, what graphics card should I get for the i7-4790k machine that will have the most impact without spending a fortune? Also I'm guessing it will need a new power supply as well Would we see better performance if we upgraded to CC2015? If so would that need a different graphics card? I was hoping that the powers that be could eventually benchmark the RX 480 vs the GTX 1070/1080 in Premiere CC.Linus TechTips made a video that basically showed at a certain point it didn't matter if you had an AMD or Nvidia card, contrary to popular belief, as long as you had a mid-range videocard with >2GB VRAM you'd be fine. Performance increases above that were negligible. I'm curious if this changes at all with new GPU architectures, as I'd much rather buy an 8GB Polaris for $229 than a $400 1070 like I was planning.Hopefully someone can make this happen.

Hi!I finished my new PC, with i7 6700K and 30bit monitor. The only thing I have to buy is the video card.My question is: do the new gtx 1060 videocards support 10bit output in photoshop? I know that PS doesn't make intensive use of GPU, so I don't want to spend much money for Quadro series. On nvidia site, they acclaim that all new GTX 10x0 cards support 10 bit mode.Anybody has tried it?

Hi all,I recently installed a GeForce GTX 1070 videocard and current drivers into my editing rig, excited for the potential leap in rendering and playback (I was previously using a very old ASUS Radeon HD 7850). I have had nothing but problems since.When I first tried opening a Premiere project, the audio refused to play (speakers, headphones, everything...I looked at the volume mixer while playing through the timeline and no audio was showing up). Everything else seemed fine. I closed, cleared the cache, opened Premiere again, this time holding down Alt while doing so to reset the preferences. Opened fine, audio played back fine, only now Premiere was stuck endlessly generating PEK files for a short audio clip in the project.After a very long bit of troubleshooting across the forums, I went ahead and did a full uninstall of Premiere Pro and After Effects, then reinstalled both programs to their current versions (2015.4 and 2015.3, respectively). Hi all,I am building a new pc ( after 7 years..yippy! ) and i need to know some facts about adobe.I can only afford to buy 2 SSD hard drives, (240 gig each)To get MAX performance, i was planning to use 1 drive for my 5D & Red footageand the other SSD drive for adobe cache disk.My concern is, does Premiere need to be operating on an SSD also?For example, my c drive. If I made that a SSD, would premiere work better or is it the drives that the footage is on that counts?2nd, MEMORY & CUDAI plan to use 16 gigs of ram and a gtx 570 (480 cudas)With this system, will this be enough to "rip thru" and footage in real time?Thanks,Lou

Hello!I am having trouble editing 4K-material. I experience constant freezes and lags during editing in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. My PC setup:Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bitIntel i7 4770k 3,5ghz16gb ramNVIDIA Geforce GTX 660Samsung SSD 840I am filming with the GH4. Neither the CPU, GPU, Ram or hard drive seem to indicate any extraordinary high usage during editing. For short moments the editing works sometimes. 4K-playback with MPC works flawlessly. 1080p-editing is just fine. Editing in lower resolution (1/4, 1/8..) seem to make no difference. Same problem when using CS6. I tried both GPU and software-settings. All files and Adobe-cache are on the SSD-file. Should I have a second SSD-disc? Is my GPU not up to snuff? Any help or clues would be appreciated.

I will be heading to college in September and wish to buy a new laptop and install creative suite production premium on it. I need a computer which will run fairly smoothly with production premium  but possibly more importantly I need a computer which will last me my four years of undergraduate. My college offers special deals on apple and dell computers so I'm strongly considering buying a laptop from those brands but am willing to purchase my computer from another company if it's clear that the laptop would be longer lasting/good with production premium.
