What is The Best set up for Premiere Pro 2018?I have a Quadro M4000 Nvidia card, Driver 390.77, and it crashes every day about 10 times. Its reaction is slow and its playback can stall at times and I have to restart premiere all the time. Can anyone tell me why?

Me and a friend have been asked to make a parts list for a 4k video editing PC to be used by the school. We have been given a budget of £1500 and have used our limited knowledge of computers to gather parts for it. The school will be primarily running premier pro and therefor the system should be optimised for it. It is likely that we will be doing some light overclocking. All the footage will be stored on external hard drives so the ssd is only needed for the OS and programs as well as the current project. I am a PC user (Dell 27 in all in one) but i’ve Decided to soon get a Mac for mainly running LR and PS....my question is what would you recomment for memory, processor, graphics card etc.  my budget is give or take, $3K.thank yousal

My current PC has an i7-4790 CPU and 32gb RAM. The graphics card is a 2Gb GeForce GT730. It does ok with HD footage but I am working on a 4k UHD project and even with proxies at times the playback stutters.The Bottlenecker website identified that my GPU is very underpowered for my CPU and causing a 100% bottleneck! Would upgrading the GPU assist with timeline playback? I have read that Premiere Pro mainly used the GPU acceleration for rendering so I am unsure whether it would affect timeline playback.The Bottlenecker suggested a GeForce GTX 780 Ti as best suited for my configuration but that appears to be an older card and not available new. It is also only available with 3Gb and if I was replacing my GPU I want at least 4Gb for use with Davinci Resolve for colour grading.Would a GTX 1050Ti help my system?Also I am still currently running Windows 7 - would an upgrade to Windows 10 make any difference?Thanks!

Looking for a media server option, meaning a network lan-connected device available 24/7. Primary use is for whole house recording and playback of media (audio only, video, still photos), but also backup etc. Many options look expensive. Any hints on how to evaluate options?

Hi Guys, My specs:CPU - 3930k -  usual OC @ 4.1ghzMobo-P9X79 ProSSD - Samsung 850 pro 512gb - 2 more caviar black storage drivesGPU - 650 ti boostI have been using the GTX 650ti boost for years, and I think this is a bottleneck right now.  I have had issues with the GPU error message when trying to export while MPE cuda on.  I think that a new card would be a nice improvement right now.  With cryptomining, GTX cards are at a ridiculous all time high.  I have been searching around and saw that a Quadro k5000 with over 1300 cuda cores was around $500.  This seems to be better than the other cards I have seen.  But is it good?  I know it has lower clock speeds than the GTX cards like the 1050 and 1060, but much higher cuda cores and 4gb of VRAM.  Is more cores better?If not what card should I get in this crazy market.  I know I should wait but my work issues are starting to give me no option but to start upgrading.Would a workstation GPU l

Hi.I'm pretty new to video editing. My current system is i7-5820K, 16 gigs of RAM, GTX 960 2 GB. I'm thinking of getting a Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB nvme drive for my system/project files, Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB for scratch disk, and a WD Black 1 TB for media, aaand 4 TB Red for other stuff. I'm also thinking of adding 16 gigs of additional RAM. I will be working with full hd footage for TV.Any possible bottle-necking? Thanks!

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this - just hoping to get advice.I have been editing with Premiere for 6 years, and I love this software. What I don't love is the computer I am using to edit. It is now 6 years old - a Dell XPS 9100, I7 CPU 930, 2.80 Ghz, 4 cores.Whenever I work on any type of type of sequence in PP especially drone footage, and 4K, it constantly lags, gets held up in the timeline and quite frankly takes forever to render clips and export sequences. I can hear the computer get real loud as it tries to scrub a shot or during export. Also, whenever I add effects to a clips and then try to play the clip, it always gets stuck. I have to assume the processor is just too old. Then again, its an i7 so I am not sure.in 2 months, I plan on buying a new computer and monitor. I have a Philips BDM4065UC which is faulty, and Philips is offering to replace with either a BDM4350UC or BDM4037UW.My primary use is Premiere and graphics After Effects on a Mac, so good color is important, and so is legible small text at 4K (like in the Adobe panels.) Text looks pretty cruddy on my 4065 (with and without font smoothing).I think I would like the 4037 curved display because stuff on the left/right edges, like Adobe panels, at my viewing distance, often feels skewed because of the size of the screen. Like I have to move my head to read text comfortably at the edges (where all the panels are.) This would be even more pronounced with a 43" screen, right? Does anyone here use a curved 40" screen?Also there are reports of bad responsiveness with the 4037 ... i.e., high "perceived blur" with motion.However the 4350 is IPS, as opposed to VA for the other two. In the past I remember reading IPS is better ... but I see people mentioning "glow"? Is IPS better for editing/motion

Hello, I have am looking into purchasing a laptop for editing and wondering what my hard drive setup should be. I am looking into purchasing an external SSD usb c drive and wondering if I can fit both my scratch files such as render previews etc as well as my projects and media or if I need another drive for that? the laptops I'm looking into have 1 USBC/Thunderbolt port and up to three usb 3.0 ports. I'm not too sure how fast usb 3.0 really is and if that can efficiently playback render files. I'm used to a PC with all my drives plugged in internally.

I find myself these days having just one laptop which is the Lenovo Ideapad 120s with 30 gb storage of which from the day I bought it brand new it says 28 gb are already used .I guess I cannot use this laptop with Adobe at least for photoshop or is there a way around this? I assume I cannot use the SD storage slot:/Online I read that this version of lenovo doesnt upgrade to more HDD storage either:/

Gday,I am running a EVGA GTX 1060 FTW+ active with an EIZO CS2730. I need to set up two things:1. Have a 10 bit workflow2. Set up a correct rec709 color space to work inIs anyone experienced in that workflow? I am using my system for video editing and color grading within premiere pro CC 2017. I am running windows 10 pro with the latest nvidia driver.Does my graphic card support 10 bit? Only the displayport?Also what are the correct rec709 values? EIZO ColorNavigator software does not realy have a rec709 preset installed so I found this:Rec. 709 Reference DisplayIs that the correct one?I run through the calibration process with ColorNavigator and SPYDER 5 PRO. Looks fine so far. But did I use the correct profile or shall l calibrate manually? But where do i get the correct color profile settings? There are some discussion about the correct gamma or 2.2 or 2.6 and other values which is a bit confusing.Really appreciate some advise. Thanks, Alex
