Why does AME automatically queue up the previous queue and set the items to Ready when launching for the first time? Since I automatically launch AME upon boot, it will render my previous render from the day before as if it doesn't know it finished yesterday. How do I prohibit this from happening?
Hi, Updated 2019 to 2020 and noticed that any files above the HD frame size, you need to change the video rendering setting under pref/general to Mecury Playback Engine Software Only. Anyone know why? On 2019 I left it on the recomeneded option, which is the GPU Acceleraton (metal)option and Files above HD frame size rendered fine. However in 2020, the recomended option gives it a pinkish haze on files above HD frame size, whether I'm down converting or keeping the frame size as source. What's the difference between these options under pre/general/rendering ? Is the new vsn of ME compatible for making HEVC Rec2020 files? without shifting colour? (ACES colour management) Thanks in advance [Moderator moved the thread to the correct forum]
Hello to everyone,I have multiple sequences in Premiere (P), and i need to export all theese in Media Encoder (ME), with the same folder path.In ME if i drag one file and set folder, other multiple files dragged take the same folder. Ad it is good...But if i do the same thing from P, export first seq, set folder, then export others sequences, the folder for theese are not the same! but are take by (probably) precedents works. Other thing (or solution) is, i can set in ME, first to export seq from P, a default folder for all exports?I tried this in ME preferences but less results... I hope I was clear in my explanation.. Thk!Massimo
Hi all, I know this topic has been broached many times, but I've pretty much tried everything that I can to try and fix this but nothing seems to work. I'm running Mojave 10.14.6 while using the 2020 (v14.0) Adobe apps. Things I've tried: - uninstall Media Encoder and reinstalling it - uninstalling every Adobe app and then reinstall them with Creative Cloud - uninstall everything (including Creative Cloud) with Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool Please see the screenshots below. Both my Premiere and Media Encoder are running the same versions and multiple reinstalls just aren't making it work. Everything was fine until I updated my Premiere Pro a few days ago. Thanks for reading and for any assistance provided. Greg Title edited by Mod
Hi! I very sad with the latest updates of Adobe AE and AME: I make simple video in AE and send it to Encoder, but it unable to encode. It just stop on "Connect to Dynamic Link" and that's all, it freezes. Any ideas how to make it work again?
I had some mp4 videos I had shot on my phone that I wanted to edit in Premiere. For whatever reason I wasn't able to play them back in Premiere (though I could view them on my phone and on my computer in regular media players), so I thought I'd throw them into the Media Encoder to make sure Premiere would be able to play them back. There were 121 of them, so I left it running. When I came back I saw there were some errors with 56 of them. I gave up on editing them, but I thought I'd try again today after I installed a new software update. After reopening the program, I tried adding the 56 files for encoding, but they were in an "unsupported compression type." I couldn't play them back anymore on my computer either. They are all 0kb, and each has a corresponding 6kb xmp file. What can I do to reverse this? How can I get my files back to the way they were?
Hello Everyone, I am frustrated with Media Encoder as it consistently crashes my iMac when I am trying to compress a .mov file to H.264 (mp4) for my customer proofing. I tried all the combinations, source at an external drive to internal drive and same for output also but the results are the same. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Error are anywhere from SEGFAULT to filesystem issues.. Please advise.. If need to collect logs, I can send it and I need help to resolve this immediately. ThanksSatish
I use the Name Overlay effect on my render preset when sending drafts to clients, normally with a prefix like "Preview Only:" and the Output File Name (Without Extension). However, instead of the actual filename I've selected, it inserts the temporary filename provided by AME and/or Windows during render. Which means, a filename of "Video_Draft" becomes "~$Video_Draft" and that's what's displayed on screen throughout the render. This doesn't look as professional as I'd like. I've tried this on a Mac environment without any hitches, it only seems to happen on Windows. Has anyone run into this before, and are there any workarounds, besides moving my files to another computer to render? Thanks all!

Bonjour, je voudrais savoir comment fusionner deux ou trois fichiers AEP dans adobe media encoder
I posted this is the Premeire Section believing it was Premiere causing the issue. It turns out it is Adobe Media Encoder. Should AME still use the standard temp folder on the root drive???? When ever I render out a project, I get about half way when I am prompted by Windows that the Temp directory is full. I have 50Gb free on it BUT I have set cache and database files for another drive, X: which is an internal SSD. I have pointed ALL adobe products to this location and I assumed it would also use that for AME temp files. Is there a way to change where AME stores the temp files as it renders a project? Any help appreciated. PS. I didn't have this issue with previous versions of Creative Cloud. This has only started when i updated to 2020.
Media Encoder freezes and stops responding when sending any video for encoding. Premiere Pro also hangs behind it. This problem occurs both in recent versions and in previous ones. A complete reinstall did not help. This problem is observed on two computers with Windows 10 x64.What could be the problem? Just yesterday, the video was encoded without problems. Title edited by Mod
I would like to be able to edit videos in Premiere and download them to an iPhone for use on social media. Since I am using a PC I'm having trouble getting the right export settings to be able to do this. I'm not dead set on MP4, but it seems to be the best option. I understand that the MP4 format has a lot of dials and siwtches within it that have to be tuned in to Apple's compatibility but so far I've only had luck with using a third party transcoder that has Apple presets included. Thanks in advance! Title edited by Mod
I had an issue with my video flashing green in Adobe After Effects but talked to customer support/ looked at the forums and got it fixed. When played through AE there is no green flashing. But, now when I convert the file to an mp.4 it flashes green. Not little lines on the screen, I mean the whole video flashes green. This is really frustrating. I have all my drivers up to date and am using the latest versions of the programs. Please help!
HI' I'm trying to downsize a video from (1920 X 1080) to (448 X 252), but alll my typos and logos getting distort. It used to work a year ago.... Someone's having a solution? Title edited by Mod
Why hasn't Adobe added the ability to add the Source Range to a preset? Having to manually set the Source range for every clip is beyond tedious. This is literally the only thing that keeps using Episode Pro intead of Media Encoder. In Episode I have a clients preset group. Within that group I have different compression settings for each station and I can set the start and end time to remove slates for those stations that don't want them. I would have thought that this would have been added to Media Encoder a long time ago. If I am missing something I would be grateful for the correction. Thanks - Benny
I work in television. We make a lot of mxf/mp4 renders. We noticed renders in Media Encoder crashes (ae 2019/2020) a lot when you close After Effects during the Media Encoder rendering. (When we render same project and dont close AE, everything is fine). Same project in AE 2018 never crash, with or without AE working same time. We try rendering on GPU and CPU same resoluts.
I've just converted a two and half minute MP4 clip, originally from an iPhone. Something strange has happened; When I playback the converted file, everything is ok until at about 45", the video repeats from the top while the audio continues normally. So the video is now out of sync from that point. Then the same thing happens about 35" later, with the video repeating from the top while the audio continues correctly. I've tried this twice with exactly the same result, What on earth is going on here?(For info, the source clip is 1920 x 1080, 30.006 fps, Progressive. The output is MXF, 1280 x 720, 59.94fps, Progressive.)Thanks, Tim
I'm using a "Plexgear" or "DigitNow" Videograbber to convert my Hi8 Sony Handycam tapes into digital file. I run macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 and Media Encoder 2020. I cant find any settings on the videograbber to create the files as something else. Here is the user manual if that can help answer my question: https://www.kjell.com/globalassets/mediaassets/504641_97100_manual_en.pdf?ref=224503B2F3What does this message mean in this case and how to solve it?
The subject line kinda sasy it all: I'm trying to encode a Prores4444 720x480 Quicktime from 24 fps to 23.976 fps in Adobe Media Encoder 2019 (13.1.5) for an m2v for DVD but getting dropped frames on playback. The dropped frames seem to happen (noticeably) at the same three places, no matter whether it's a VBR or CBR encode and whatever settings. In all other respects I'm happy with the quality but I can't get past this issue. It's so weird. I've even sucked the Quicktime source into Premiere Pro and exported from there without a problem. I'm attaching my encode settings for reference. What am I doing wrong? Or what can I do to fix this? Thanks.

Hello, I've been using Creative Cloud for almost 2 years now. I'm working on an animation project in After Effects but I'm getting error messages after I updated all of my apps to their latest versions. When I try to export my file to Media Encoder, It says: "AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLInkServer: Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. Please download and install it to use this feature. Go to https://creative.adobe.apps . ( 5027 :: 12 )After I click "OK" I get the next message:AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLinkServer: Failed to connect to Adobe Media Encoder. ( 5027 :: 12 )"Media Encoder and all other Creative Cloud apps are installed and up to date. How to solve this?
I have to encode video a lot and the ram is never utilized enough it takes so long to run a video through. The computer has Two (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v4 @ 2.10GHz, 2101 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)) and 32GB of ram but the Media Encoder never uses more than 15GB with the memory preference set at 28gb. As the video encodes the ram usage goes down but never up.
