Hi Guys,I recently installed AE & Media Encoder cc 2017. I tried rendering a 3 min project in media encoder and the rendering was slow as hell so i tried directly in After effects which almost took 2hrs 30 min.I am really worried about this weird problem because everything was much better in the older versions. I would really appreciate someone to help me with this frustrating issue. Why is my render happening this slow. I am really concerned because few day back I upgraded my hardware. Do i have to tweak something to get it faster? Any help will be greatly appreciated.ThanksSystem Config===========Win 7Intel I7 6700k Asus Z170 Pro gaming Corsair Vengeance 8gbMSI GTX 970 4gbIntel Stock CoolerCorsair Carbide 300R600W Cooler Master(My HDD are old SATA but the rest everything is new)
I wonder if there's how Adobe Media Encoder preserves the date of creation of the original file and puts it in the converted final file? That is, at the end of the conversion, both the original file and the converted file would have exactly the same date?
I'm having a real head-scratcher here. For my work I build seamless looped animations in after effects, usually from 10 - 30 seconds depending on what the scene requires. Obviously, having been doing motion graphics for a few years, I ensure that every element of my animation is a seamless loop, verified and triple checked prior to export with laborious review within After Effects.Things seem to go off the rails when I output these same animations via Media Encoder, and convert or encode them to H264 mp4s (usually high bitrate, 10mbps). Now I know without fail that this video is seamless, but once it's encoded, when I watch it back in any playback software (vlc, qt, or windows "movie & TV) at the end there is, without fail, a noticeable hiccup which feels like anywhere from 6 frames to a full second stutter / pause when the video starts over again (usually easily identifiable / longer than shorter)So I've tried to export the exact same animation in multiple formats:Anim
OS 10.11.6I just upgraded to latest version of Media Encoder, cued video from Premiere Pro but about two minutes into Media Encoder render I keep getting a crash error. Rendering H.264 Vimeo 1080p settings
Every time I try to start my Media Encoder 2015, a message appears: "Adobe Media Encoder Error - adobe media encoder has encountered an unexpected error and cannot continue"how can I solve this problem ?
When I try to export my timeline and send it to AME queue, it tells me that I don't have AME installed... I clearly do.I have uninstalled and re-installed it multiple times, restarted, and refreshed but no luck. When I "export" it from the setting screen in premiere, no files that are exported can be read! When I try to AirDrop from MAC to iPhone, upload on social media, anything... the files won't open or are seen as incompatible but the export is successful.I have CS6.
Is it possible to close the premiere project that you are exporting throu media encoder while it is exporting? If so, can I also open a new premiere project during the same project export is still continuing?
h264 has always turned out blocky red edges from AME but now it seems even worse than before. Although the blocks look smaller, the sharpening effect produces rough, dark edges which are now clearly obvious no matter how high the quality. Is this a problem across all .264 encoders? Is there a remedy? I'm sending to AME CC2017 from AE CC2017.
Hello everyone,I use the Adobe Media Encoder for the first time on my macbook pro. I tried to render a video of 40 seconds (1080p), it takes more then 1 hour and the cpu usage was someting like 500%. And fans was working like it was going to explose. Is this normal? Hope you can help me.Specs:Macbook Pro Retina 2015: 16 GB ram, 256 GB SSD, 2,2 GHz Intel Core i7
Hello,When I export a After Effects project to the Media Encoder queue, there is always a wrong "match source" setting. No matter what size the original composition has, Media Encoder sets it to 480x270 px. I can press the button "match source" as often as I want - it has no effect on this setting. Is there any way to fix this? I would be pleased to receive an answer Yours faithfully,Samantha

Executive Summary: Adobe’s HEVC implementation renders footage to <7 bits when HDR is selected, even when set to deliver 10 bits.Description:I’ve been experimenting with UHD HEVC encoding options for a while now, and was very interested in the new HDR options. Unfortunately, while the Rec2020 option now renders smoothly to SMPTE range, when the HDR switch is enabled, the same setting will render to less than 7 bits, producing a lot of banding artifacts. Here’s some screen grabs:Source comp in AE:This was made from an Illustrator file, when I did a blend with the specific number of steps (Blend maxes out at 1000 steps, so I couldn't do 1024 for 10 bit). Just note that there is more and more banding the further down you go in the chart. If I output enable Main10 (gives me 10 bits/channel instead of default 8), and enable Rec2020 and render it, I can get this:It is clipping the blacks, but OK, that's potentially resolvable with an Adjustment Layer. We'll deal with that another time. But
Check this out: I have my composition settings to 1920x1080 and then i press export to AME and the source says its 480x270? What's up.
OK, so I made a Composition in After Effects. To keep life simple, 32 bits/channel, No Color Management, No Linearize Working Space, No Blend Colors Using 1.0 Gamma, No Compensate for Scene-Referred Files, just a bog simple as I can make it.I made a ramp using the built in tools, rendered it out using a preset for UHD 10 bit. So far so good:Nice and clean ramps, all good. Now I'll use the exact same setting, just turning on Rec2020 color primaries:Note the upper ramp's blacks - from zero to about 8%, all values have been crushed to black, and then jump to about 23%. And yes, they play back this way too (checked on a Samsung KS8000, a UHD HDR UltraHD Premium Certified set, playing back via USB stick). So, in summary:- you CAN render 10 bit Rec709 files OK - so that's good. -you CAN'T render 10 bit Rec2020 files and have them look right (unless everything is above 23% - BAD.-if you look here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2238092...you'll see that you can't render proper HDR files as well
Hi there, I recently shot some footage on Sony FS7. The camera records 10-bit, and we shot in 4K. Now I need to transcode all the footage to ProRes 4444 on AME and I'm going to leave the size 4K. The transcoded footage will also be used on After Effects and DaVinci after the edit. My only issue is that I'm a bit confused about choosing the right bit-depth. I understand that 24 bit equals 8bpc x 3 RGB Channels and 48 bit equals 16bpc x 3 RGC channels. Would 24, 32, or 48 bit be ideal for VFX and color grading work? Thank you for your feedback. - Eren
I can't find why interpreting a media in 24 or 23,976 do not change media duration?Hope someone can help!
I am running the current version of AME CS6 on an 21.5-inch iMac, Mid 2011 (ver. 10.11.6). I am recording media with a BlackMagic HyperDeck SSD 4K on to OWC Pro 6G Mercury Extreme SSDs (both 480g and 1tb drives). I am connecting the drives to the iMac using the BlackMagic Multi Dock 2 (connected via Thunderbolt). I am having an issue where I set up an encoding queue (anywhere from 2-20 files) and start encoding. The first file encodes well but upon reaching 100% the program freezes and does not move on to the next file. After about 5-10 minutes one of two things happens. Either AME moves to the next file and begins the encoding process as it should, or the program stays frozen and the iMac sends the error "Disk Not Ejected Properly". I have tried using a different external drive dock (A single drive dock made by Rosewill, connected via USB 3.0) but the same problem has occurred making me think that the problem is with AME. This problem can occur when encoding only 1 file, although the
am i missing something, I can't see any way to make a preset that encodes at half resolution regardless of source resolution.I have a massive number of clips that I need at half and at quarter res and they're all different sizes.doing it manually will be insane. It'll be quicker to do in after effects because at least I can script teh setup there.any ideas ?
I have been struggling with Adobe support to make Media Encoder successfully open HEVC H.265 HDR 10-bit videos. This is actually the only reason I got a CC plan.Public examples of videos with this problem:Demo Ultra-HD - LG Chess - HDR Demo Ultra-HD - LG Colors of Journey - HDR Can somebody please try to open these in Media Encoder? My setup: Windows 10 64 bit, GTX 1070The error I see is: The file Filename.mp4 could not be imported. The source file appears to be corrupted. Please check that it is a valid file.I confirmed with support that I have the HEVC codec installed correctly, as I can successfully export HEVC.
Recently I've been unable to render anyfile. I started worrying when animate said that I would need quicktime installed in order to render some files, which is incorrect since I already have quicktime installed. Now whenever I try to render out a H.264 or Mov file it fails immediately with the quicktime setting even unable to match the orignal source of the video when customising the settings saying it dosent support it. Anyone have a potential fix?
Hello guys,Using Media encoder to export projects on another PC, and one watch folder is working perfectly, after some time we had a need for another one, after creating it it exports one projects and stops working. After saving project in folder wirst one shows in queue and after first it stops working. Tried changing location and names of folder and it just won't work. Anyone got any suggestions?
I need help I've have been trying everything to export my audio. I have been transferring cassette tapes and fixing them. It sounds perfect in the timeline but every time I export it and I've tried everything like playing with the Hz and bitrate but all I get is a crackling, pitched metallic audio.Does anyone know what export settings or anyway to export the same audio as in timeline?I've tried MP3, WAV, AAC (that sounded a little better)48 bitrate 48000 Hz
Hello. This might a stupid question but how can I preserve the folder structure of a mags that I have ingested when I want to transcode with media encoder?I have, on my storage, ( so already ingested)CAMERA/ROLL/TAKEIf I drag&drop this folder into AME and set a transcode preset, the transcode goes directly in the relative input file sub-folder or in a destination folder specified by me in the preferences. In the second case I can't see an option for duplicating the folder structure and having the transcodes mirroring the original source.Does this happens only if I ingest directly with AME?
Hi,I have been using premiere and encoder for a few years without a problem. However, in the last week, after encoder finishes a job it disappears from the queue. The exported file is fine and where it should be but the item disappears from the list, along with the accompanying green tick that would be beside it (or more importantly the yellow or red warning message if there is a problem).Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
