Adobe Media Encoder

I have downloaded the free versions of both of these codecs in the hopes of being able to transcode to each as an intermediate codec for my AVCHD files. The problem is that neither shows up in either my Premiere Pro CS6 or Adobe Media Encoder Import/Export options? What gives? Did I miss something here? How do I get the option to transcode or encode to DnxHD or Cineform on a PC version of CS6?

Recently i installed Adobe Media Encoder CS6 , on start it showing application unable to start due this error 0xc000007b, please resolve ASAP, if anybody knows.

I AM NEW TO ADOBE PREMIERE. AFTER SOME HOURS OF LEARNING FINALLY I FINISHED EDITING 30 MIN OF VIDEO. NOW I DONT KNOW HOW TO OUTPUT TO DVD ( VIDEO DVD ) TO PLAY IN DVD PLAYERS. PLS HELP.

When I queue exports from Premiere CS6,  Media Encoder totally ignores any custom export settings, and chooses some completely different system defined default settings, which I did not choose in Premiere. In previous versions Premiere would always pass the encoding settings to the Media Encoder.Update: When I tried to import the custom settings into Adobe Media Encoder, I got an error message: "Preset could not be imported. No exporter found for this preset." Then I've realized, that AEM doesn't even have a QuickTime export format!!! Actually it offers only 4 export formats: H.264 (MP4), FLV, F4V, and MP3. Then, when I queue an export with Premiere with one of those 4 formats, then AEM would accept it. Anything else - it just wouldn't work!!! So wait - am I missing something, or I literally cannot queue any other common format exports with AEM??? I need to work with MOV, AVI, AIFF, WAV etc. files, which all aren't accepted by the Media Encoder... Or am I missing something???This

how do i purchase adobe media encoder?I want to buy it and use it to make mxf files for television material, my 30day trial period has expired.Please help urgently.Thanks

I just upgraded to CS5.5 a yesterday and having some issues encoding an 1 1/2 program for a DVD. The program doesn't seem to crash per se, just stops encoding. The task manager says it's running. I tried to encode the same sequence, but shorter and have the in and out points go through the part where it always stops and it worked fine. It's just when I try the entire sequence it stops. Anyone have any experience like this with CS5.5 just coming out?Thank you,Doug

I am running media encoder on a mac. I have an .mp4 file which is also available as a .mov file but I need it to be an .avi file with linear PCM codec so that I can play it from a thumb drive on my projector. I used a converter to convert the file to .avi but it still doesn't play on the epson projector.Can you help me achieve this?There is no .avi option in my premier pro or the media encoder.ThanksSue

I'm currently exporting a 90 second video (using the Vimeo HD 1080p preset), and it is taking about 30 minutes. This is extremely strange as I have an i7-990x OC'ed @4.5, 12GB RAM, SSD, etc.I looked at Performance tab in Windows Task Manager, and saw 4 threads were not being used at all, only 20-25% of the CPU was in use, and only 6GB out of the 9GB I specified was being used.Why isn't Media Encoder making full use of my CPU and RAM?

Here is Adobe’s explanation from the Adobe Media Encoder PDF:Explanation 1Key Frames are complete video frames (or images) that are inserted at consistent intervals in a video clip. I have an 10 seconds video done in After Effects CC 2015 with 300 x 600px and need to work as a Web Banner.We need to supply it as HTML5 and the Media Guide needs it with maximum 40Kb.I have read many tutorials but since FLV and SWF are not in After Effects or Adobe Media Encoder, I don't know how the process would be.Please help us.Thank you,

Not sure what I need to be concerned with.The Media Encoder CC is taking about 10 times longer than when I rendered this AE cs6 project in the past.The AE cc project is 34 seconds and the media encoder is saying it will take 10 hours to render.It's a H.264 going to YT HD.Any tweaks for improvement? it's the only thing running using 6 gig memory.

I am using Adobe Media Encoder cs5 version 5.0.1.0 on a Windows XP Service Pack 3 32-bit machine.  None of the wmv or avi files I try to encode have the audio track encoded.  I have tried encoding with both the "F4V - Match Source Attributes" and "FLV - Web 640 x 480" presets.  Neither of these encode the audio output at all.  The audio track plays correctly in Windows Media Player.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Is there a way to select multiple files in Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 and change or add the output folder for all? It would be great if the output folder could be set in the Preset rather than in the AME Preference.

Hello,I am exporting a mpeg HDV file that has a constant frame rate to a H264 video (.mp4) video to upload to a web-base video player. I'm actually using the preset in Media Encoder "YouTube HD 720p 29.97".The online video web interface I use requires a constant frame rate. But when looking at the video in MediaInfo it shows the video file as a variable frame rate. After looking through the settings in Media Encoder I cannot find any option to correct that.  I see where you can change the frame rate and it is at 29.97. So you would think it would be constant but it is not. And it does not have any settings, that I can see, to change from variable to constant. I do see the bitrate settings, but that is not the issue.I also have Apple Compressor and that successfuly does a constant frame rate, but if possible I'd rather use Adobe Media Encoder. So does anybody know how to change this setting? Thank you

Hi,To my dismay, I discovered that Media Encoder no longer exports mp4 files. Each time I try it now, it exports a file with the extension m4v instead of mp4, and it will not play. This is CS6 on a MacBook Pro running mountain lion. It was working previously before the latest update from Adobe. Anyone else experiencing this?When I try and play back the m4v file, I am seeing this error.thx

I'm currently starting work on a project where we are capturing footage from several different places around the country. All the footage gets sent to me. What I'm looking to do is set up a fairly automated workflow using watch folders and Adobe Media Encoder to export small file size outputs of the footage that we can make available for the rest of the team to preview. So those exported clips get saved to another folder that gets posted.The goal is to take what we shoot (very large in file size and lengthy clips and therefore takes a lot of time to post back up) and be able to give a small reference view to others on our connected team. I know this can be done and I've seen the steps to take to set this up with watch folders - BUT - I need assistance in choosing the right output settings that will give me a small file size video clip that is of a decent image quality and audio quality, something that is widely viewable format wise. I'm trying to encode an x264 codec Quicktime using AME 6.0.2.81 and Mac OS 10.8.2. I also tried it with two versions of the x264 encoder which I downloaded from here: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/24173/x264encoderThis encoder works 100% fine and better than the h264 encoder when using Apple Compressor and Apple QT Pro V7. I've been however trying to transition all of my video encodes to AME due to a number of reasons: dynamic link to AE, Premiere and the interface to name a few.Everytime I start an encode it gives me an error and I hear that blasted sheep. lol. I'd like to render a 1080i comp at half resolution or third resolution in AME to speed up render times for low-res previews. I just had a low-res H264 preview take 5 minutes to encode in AE, and 28 minutes in AME.This is easily accomplished in the After Effects render settings. However, the "video" option in AME seems to imply the project is encoded at that resolution, not rendered at it.I went into AE and changed the setting in the composition viewport to "half", but when I queue it up in AME, the "Match Source" button still indicates 1080.What is the correct method to get the results I want?I'm currently using AE CC and AME CC on Windows.

Hello Forum,Can anyone recommend decent quality 720p MP4 settings with an MPEG4 container?  I can only do 720p versions in a quicktime or h264 container which will not play in windows.  Source is ProRes 422 1080p.  Client requests MP4.  However, the settings for MP4 under the MPEG4 container does not allow for a high enough data rate for 720p.Thanks!- Ryan

I have a ton of custom presets that I've developed over several years. I tried importing them into CS6 by copying the custom presets from here:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\5.0to here:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\6.0I can see the custom presets in AME but only SOME of the presets in the export settings format/preset boxes from Premiere Pro CS6. e.g. AVI show up but not the presets for H264 or Windows Media formats etc (they don't appear). Are the presets incompatible between CS5.5 and CS6 for some formats (maybe there are new settings that weren't in the old version)?Thanks,Paul.

The Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1) update is available.It has bug fixes and some new features. You'll see from the post above that one of the features is left somewhat unexplained for the moment. That's because we wanted to get the bug fixes for Adobe Media Encoder out as soon as possible, rather than hold this update and wait for it to coincide with certain other events. Stay tuned. We'll have more information about that new feature quite soon.

Hi,Curious...just came over recently from FCP and I don't remember Compressor giving me an option to adjust the MINIMUM bit rate when exporting HD projects for DVD. I figured I'd just leave it where the preset has it (at 2.8mbps minimum)...BUT...then I hovered over it and saw an interesting popup/explanation of what it does which kind of confuses me. It says:Higher values set a higher minimum quality, but reduce quality of more difficult scenes.The first part makes sense so I figured I'd raise it...but then the second part makes me think I should keep it low. Sort of confuses me. Any thoughts??? FYI: My projects are Weddings with a fair amount of action, etc.....Normally, these are my settings depending unless I can't fit the project onto the disc in which case I adjust:DVDCBR at 7.5mbps...or...VBR 2passTarget Bit Rate: About 6.8 or 7mbpsMax Bit Rate: Usually 8mbpsBLURAYVBR 2passTarget Bit Rate: 25mbpsMax Bit Rate: 30mbpsUnless someone tells me that I should raise these settings higher

I just upgraded to Creative Cloud and enjoyed until it came time to render my first video.The Media Encoder crashes no matter what I do!!!!!I am rendering timelines with Canon MXF files and I need to transcode them to AVI so my friend can use them in his older version of Vegas.I even tried encoding just a simple 15sec timeline with a few 5 second clips and that crashed too.I NEVER had an issue with the previous version when i was using CS5.5.What has changed???? I am very disaapointed whats the point of my editing a project if i can't ever output it????I have several client project due and now I can't finish any of them. And your India based tech support doesn't even know what Adobe Media Encoder is!!!!!

Some people who have downloaded Adobe Media Encoder with Premiere Pro CS6 as part of a Creative Cloud Membership subscription have a problem in which the MPEG2, MPEG2-DVD, MPEG2-Blu-ray, Dolby Digital, & MXF OP1a codecs are missing. To fix this issue, install the Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1) update.
