Before the remote session crashed, he cleaned my media cache, which I clearly wrote never fixes the issue. @Kevin-Monahan Hi there. I'm still having this issue after over a year. But it only happens when I get projects from one specific client. We are both scratching our heads. It always happens a few days into an edit. It can happen when I click on the timeline regardless of media type (FX9, Gopro, A7Siii, etc). Allow me to save your lives. I can't believe this took as much searching as it did to find an OFFICIAL FIX FROM ADOBE for this issue (until they can figure out how to unbreak it again). Adobe's own version of this video should have been sent out by Adobe to all users of Premiere Pro the second they discovered this issue. Why it wasn't is beyond me. Well, not really because Adobe is both so amazing at enabling us to do what we do, but so utterly abysmal at fixing things that won't work. The color was delivered to me via prores HQ from my colorist, who graded in Resolve. There was NO NEED to apply this LUT to my final export. So the BIZARRE thing about this color shift issue is that it only seems to happen when you use Premiere to grade our projects. Premiere Pro on the imac Pro has been having issues for the past year with exports coming out desaturated and losing contrast. Basically I’ve been having to add some additional saturation & contrast to all my final exports for the past year, which look bad on the program monitor, but it helps on the exports maintain their color (somewhat). I just got off the phone with Adobe Tech support because I’m planning to create a film master in the next month. Here is what I was told: call to adobe tech support on August 17, 2019: This is a known issue The iMac pro exports get desaturated and lose contrast. There will be an update to premiere pro released in October (possible names are 13.1.5 or 13.2). Engineering team says this new version will 100% have the issue fixed. After many years of using a proxy workflow, I'm happy to report that this issue is no longer a problem for me because of my new system. I'm able to cut 6 angle, 4K multicams (gopros, sony a7s iii, and sony FX 9) with almost zero lag. No proxies used at all. This was unthinkable before. I upgraded to the new Mac Studio, but after a lot of research, DID NOT opt for the top tier processor because the performance difference was so small for the money. Just wanted to share my setup. Update:    Screeching started happening again, even after the above fix.   The only surefire fix I have so far that completely eliminates the issue is to export each individual audio file out of premiere pro (in my case, 48 Khz AIFFs), import into the project, and use these instead of the problem files.    I still plan to eventually send you a file to diagnose Kevin. I think I found the source of the problem Kevin. I'm very slammed, so I'll confirm when I come up for air in a couple of weeks.   Many of the primary lav mic audio is made up of stereo WAV files that have one channel very low and one channel very high. Standard practice for in field recording. However, when I modify the audio channels and pick one, the buzzing problem ceases to happen.    Again, I'm not 100% on this yet, but I just edited buzz-fee for two hours after applying thiw workaround. If this does prove to be the fix, I'll be sure to send you a sample file so your team can try to replicate the issue on their end. The footage is from a Sony FX9, Sony A7siii, a DJI drone, and several gopros. Multicam sequences. I have edited content for this client before with zero issues. All cameras were the same.   All sony footage has proxies (high quality quicktime proxy), and all gopros & drone has proxies (Cineform high res). All created using premiere. My standard workflow.   I've never had this issue come up with my iMac Pro in over 3 years. My OS update was a month or two ago. Figured it out. I was working on a 4K clip in a 1080P sequence. You have to nest any clips you want to use SED on in a native sequence in order for the feature to work.  I don't recall seeing that in the "how to". Ha.  ... View more

Since updating to the AME 12.1.2, my batch encodes are working fine. I also have a huge tip for anyone suffering from your display not waking up after a long batch export. Download caffeine and make sure it's on before beginning your exports. I use it for my overnight encodes and just turn my screen brightness down to low to save the monitor life. So..... what's the answer? This thread has been marked "answered" (?)... I too am lead editor for a feature doc right now. All footage has been imported with the "write XMP IDs" box ticked in preferences. When I combine sequences from other projects, so far I do not get duplicate media. This is wonderful... but only as long as I stick to one of our RAIDS as far as I know because the XMP IDs are file dependent, so the second I have to connect to the media on another drive, there are likely to be serious issues with duplicate media. I have so many questions, and they are not readily available online. I've been reaching out to my film contacts for someone... ANYONE at Adobe who I can have a very simple discussion with about a shared editor workflow. How can I set myself up for success? How do sidecar files work? Where are they stored? Can they be cloned to another drive's copy of the media enabling a no-duplicates-ever workflow? Can moving to team or shared projects fix this issue altogether? I have to figure this all out over the next few weeks. Can someone throw me a life preserver? If you're out there, I've got a gift card with your name on it!   Side note: I also called India, and after 1.5 hours on hold, I was told they could not help me with guidance on the proper XMP ID workflow. They could only "troubleshoot" or "send me a link", and were not familiar with how XMP IDs worked.  MY GOSH Adobe, can you PLEASE hire a team who actually knows professional workflows stateside so we can get answers. I'm working on-site for a client on a completely different Mac Pro tower and having the same issue when I try to bring an Essential Graphics Panel template down onto the timeline, except instead of freezing up at 40-ish percent, the progress bar freezes up at 80-ish percent. I have to cancel. So that's two separate Macs with freshly installed software that won't even let me drop an Essential Graphics Panel template on the timeline, let alone use or tweak it. Really? ...
