I can tell you're in the mood for some extra Adobe news! The a.i. gravy train has come to its fisrt stop and there is a ticket office. Free generative credits have now come to a close and all us Full Creative Cloud subscribers are now just 'standard' members who can upgrade to 'pro' for an additional fee and get all the benefits you used to get on the current plan you have... They have scraped the work, trained the a.i. got us all on board for the free convenience just long enough that clients think our work has even less monitary value than before and now we have to pay a premium to continue. The really annoying part is that if you drag a white logo to the Asset Export Pallette it actually handles the logo exactly as we need the library to, in that it uses a light grey background behind the white logo. but drag the same item to the library and it displays it white on white. ... I'm pretty competent user since version 3.0 (I know eraser is relatively new), but definitely agree the eraser tool messes stuff up. If you use it with the alt key as a block eraser is 50/50 as to whether it makes a better or worse job than just using the tool as standard. It leaves some messed up unnecessary edits in its wake.  ... View more

maybe too late for you... but I keep all my live work on dropbox on machines that I dont have 'time machine' (mac) running - so you always have a back ups to fall back on. they have a free tier that still gives 30 days of history. if you havent closed the broken design yet, 'save as' and you can get back to the last saved version at least? ... Hope mine is still working I'm mid way thorugh some updates on an old site!. When they first killed muse I bought Nicepage, its a pretty decent replacement for Muse, better output and pretty much zero learning curve if youve ever used Wix etc, but its a lifetime license. definitely worth checking out.   also forgot to mention you can export as wordpress if you like! so you get wordpress for clients without actually having to learn anythign tricky!  ... Hey keep plugging away, keep learning, and keep asking for help. I've loved illustrator for over 30 years, and am constantly finding new ways to do things, one of its strengths but also something that makes it harder to learn. Even people that are fairly advanced users of other apps like photoshop can find illustrator hard to get on with initially, but it really does so much more than many other apps. So many times people I work with say 'how do you know how to do that?' and the answer is pretty much always 'I read the manual'. - do the tutorials, read the help files and within a short time you'll love the app as it really allows you to produce what's in your mind, and you can continue within Illustrator beyond the content of charts and logos and backgrounds, to go right through to the layouts for printing anything from business cards to exhibition stands. it's a really versatile program and much loved as you'll see from the huge numbers of users who come on here just to help people who get a little stuck, I think it's really because we all love the App!  ... Yeah i see what you mean, - selecting a bunch of words then choosing a format could be nice. Not sure this does exactly what you want, but using the eyedropper you can select a format, and then just apply it to indivisdual words using the 'option' key to turn the eyedropper into a 'paste style cursor' - so it works same as in InDesign to 'paste the style' onto the text one word at a time non-contiguous... ... I think the issue you are having might just be that your design is too detailed to resolve in just 400 pixels wide. Imagine trying to draw it out on squared paper with just 400 squares across? use pixel preview and screen zoom 100% and work on something that looks OK and works at that scale (on an art board set to 400x200). Send that thing back to Apple before your 30 days runs out and get yourself an excellent bargain of an iMac Pro intel off eBay. Unless you are doing video editing/ youtube for a living the Mac silicon is not worth the cash yet. enjoy the thousands of £ you recoup. If you truly want speedy vector workflow on apple silicone you might have to try affinity or bail out and go to PC. But honestly some amazing intel Mac deals around to tide you over until everyone gets their act together at Apple / Adobe. 1042x1042px is 1:1 ratio as is 500x500px so aspect ratio remains the same. Check your output format and how. You are choosing to export the image. Also if the image looks distorted on the website but ok on your computer maybe the upload is resizing the image?  ... View more

get the eraser tool hold alt key and slice accross those tails to chop them off? or use one of the path finder tools to eliminate them if they are wihtin a compount path. or release path. scale to 1% and see if it all gets on to the canvas and move them up with the direct selection tool?   ... bit of help with a work around (if you're on a mac) screen grab a text area, then use the text recognition in preview App to select the text, (which it will recognise and process into live text). Then paste into a new text frame in illustrator and line it up over the top and adjust the text formatting to match. delete the outline text for that area, and move on rinse / repeat. ... View more

if you only want sporadic use of 3D app maybe try Blender as its free. it's for visual work, but if you want to get into actual physical production then Rhino is a good App to try, great nodelling tools and as its has single purcahse (non subscription purchase) and also has a great fully functional trial period like 3 months or something crazy. ... Top of the screen the should be a menu called 'object' then an option called artboards, then convert to artboards. Use this while a rectangle at the size you want an art board is selected. It's a great way of making many boards. Copy paste repeat a load of rectangles into position then use this command (see from the screen grab I have allocated a shortcut key).   ... View more

Not every workflow is straight forward like that though is it.
