Yes, I want the colors to be as they were in 24.4, I updated to 24.6.1 today and I do NOT like the classic version with the darker wave forms, I like them lighter! Thanks!

Hi Mike, I just came across this change when I updated from 24.4 to 24.6.1 - I do not like this change at all! I found the classic label colors, but I prefer the classic colors with the lighter waveform on them, not the darker. I have look at the screen all day and this is a HUGE change that should have a way to put it back to where it has been for me for the last 9 years of use of PP. Thanks!

Hi Kevin, This was from a year ago. Not really any problems on v23.6, but there are various other problems 🙂 You can close my part of this thread. Cheers! *steve

You can still import SRT to the project panel; but that is not the preferred way now. Thanks, that did work. Too bad it's not "preferred", I didn't even know you could do it that way, but this was my first time dealing with the situation. Go to the Workspace icon or Window -> Workspaces and then "Reset to saved layout." And if that doesn't work, Reset preferences. The reset to saved layout did nothing. I am not going to reset preferences until I save my keyboard shortcuts 🙂 I'd still like to see a screenshot. A screenshot of what? It should not matter, but you exported them from 23.6; what version are you now working in? I do medical explainer videos and have been doing so since 2015. I am very aware of how the versions work and generally stay on one version until a compelling reason comes up that makes me want to upgrade. The versions for export and import are the same, although it really shouldn't make a difference considering it is just a text file. Anyway, thanks for the tip on the other way to import. Cheers and thank you!

A screenshot would help. How are you importing? Through the text panel/captions tab. How else can you import them? I think you are doing this, but to be sure, the best option is to select the sequence/timeline, then open the Text panel/Captions tab. You should see the "Import captions from file." That option is gone. Another thing to test, go to one of the srt's in Windows explorer. Right click and open in notepad. What are the first few lines? It is a pure srt file. All that is in it is the #, time code sequence, and caption. Thanks for trying to help!

I have 6 files I need to add captions to. PP 23.6 Windows 10 Pro The captions were already created and exported from Premiere 23.6 as srt files. They work perfectly with the original six files. I had to add an intro and an outro for a client, but the core part of the video is the same as the original I created, but now I have to adjust the caption track to go along with the slightly modified length. I went to import the srt file and nothing showed up. I exited premiere, emptied the cache manually, restarted and now the import option is not even available on the captions panel. This is a super weird use case, but I have no idea why it is not working! Any ideas?

I make medical explainer videos in English and Spanish. The newish transcription engine and caption creation are amazing, but there are hiccups when it comes down to medical terms that have to be manually corrected each time. Also, since many of the videos share the same base parts, having a script for the transcription engine to check against would save me a lot of time.

I would really appreciate if there was a way to enlarge the text in the transcription and captions panel. I do both for English and Spanish for the medical explainer videos I make and on a 4K monitor, the text size is getting too small for this 52 year old eyes.

Hi Zack, the panel is great! Saves a lot of space when there are a ton of layers in a comp because I don't have to twirl down to get to the parts I need! Please add it to a regular release ASAP 🙂 Cheers!

Currently, Premiere 2019 will read and play comps dynamically linked from AE that were created prior to the CC2018 version. Comps made in 2018 WILL NOT play (Media pending error) in Premiere CC2019. Also, fonts used in MOGRT files are not correct in Premiere CC2019 - and yes, I'm using typekite fonts.

Hopefully one of the engineers will see this - I absolutely LOVE the autotranscription and caption creation now within PP. Thank you. I have a little problem though - I make medical videos for patients in English and Spanish. I can correct the mistakes (very few of them) in the English captions by just running through the whole video. I have a professional script read by a VO in Spanish. Although I know a little, I cannot confirm the spelling and the use of accent marks are correct by just going through the video so I have tried to cut and paste the script I have into the sections that are created in the transcript - taking out the line breaks as needed. The problem is this - when I create the captions directly from the transcript - the timing is perfect, but there are errors I need to correct and it takes a long time. When I cut and paste the script into the each section created by the transcription - the timing is off. Not by much, but enough to make it unusable. Is there are workaround for this. or am I going to have to go through line by line like I was doing before? Thanks for any info!

Thanks Neil, As for the first thing, I can understand that it might come to fruition 🙂 As for the multiple tracks, yes, both Spanish and Eglish are in the file so that I can line up the voice overs to the graphics and if I have to change the graphics, they get changed for both languages. I will try the new sequence idea, but it sure would be cool to have them both in the same sequence for tidyness sake. Attached is a picture of the audio tracks for reference.

So I tried out the speech to text in the newest version of Premiere V22.2.0 on a medical explainer video for my company and in a 7 minute video, there were only about 10 mistakes - with most of them being the word 'rhizotomy' and a couple of 'you're' vs 'your' problems. It took less than five minutes for Premiere to create the transcript and was extremely accurate in the timing and very east to correct the mistakes for captions which will be exported as a .srt file. I looked around in the software and on https://helpx.adobe.com/premier.../using/speech-to-text.html https://helpx.adobe.com/pre.../using/speech-to-text-faq.html and I couldn't find two major things: Imported an already created script file for making sure that Premiere can use the correct words... and even MORE importantly, I cannot see where I can make an addition transcript and captions for the Spanish version of the video - which is contained within the English version file. This is done to make sure all the graphics line up to where they are supposed to be for English and Spanish at the same time. Is there information about these two things that I am not seeing in the help page and the FAQ? Thanks!

Hi, I have a multitude of projects, explainer videos, that are modified on a regular basis for the company I work for. I use a ton of AE comps, dynamically linked to premiere for the ease in changing text, etc. within Premiere. In CC2019, AE comps made prior to the CC2018 release will load and play fine, but anything made with CC2018 will show a media pending error and will obviously not play. Also, in MOGRT files made with typekit fonts, the font that is supposed to be used is NOT used in CC2019. Let me know if I should report this as a big. Thanks!

I mogrt I made in 2017, in my library, does not use the correct font in CC19 also, just checked it in CC18 and it's fine. No idea what the font is that replaced the typekit font I used in the original though.

AE Comps from older projects that I need to revise are not linking properly on my work machine. The oddity is, AE comps from 2016 work fine, but comps made in CC17/18 won't load at all.

[Moderator moved from Adobe Creative Cloud to After Effects.] Hi all, I'm a little confused about upgrading and why some of these questions I have below haven't been addressed in the last couple of years. I have two computers, one work and one home. It's like pulling teeth trying to sync everything up every time an upgrade comes around AND it's a pain that the file formats are not backwards compatible. I do explainer videos so I have a combo of Premiere, After Effects and Audition work in every Premiere file I create by the way. Anyway here are my questions: #1 What exactly is synced with Media Encoder? When upgrading to CC18 neither my encoding presets or watch folder settings were imported. #2 What is synced in After Effects? I had to use the “migrate previous version settings” to get my workspaces etc. #3 Why are there two options that seemingly do the same thing or are supposed to in After Effects - sync settings and migrate settings? #4 Why can’t we SEE what exactly is being synced? #5 Why do you have manually transfer user created presets from one version of Premiere to another and why aren’t the presets saved outside the program in a folder like After Effects? #6 Why aren’t presets and plugins synced in After Effects? #7 With two computers, why isn't there a way to combine settings when syncing for two computers working on the same project - specifically with workspaces for two sets of monitors?? Thanks!

It's interesting J, the the only documentation on the Adobe site about making the templates in AE is this page Create Motion Graphics templates | Does Adobe not have technical writers on staff anymore? Or is Adobe relying on third parties to make tutorials to teach everyone one else how to effectively use the new tools?

From what I can see Roei, you can pickwhip practically any element to an expression slider/checkbox/etc. and then use that control in the essential graphics panel. There must be some reason why Adobe didn't make some elements directly accessible to the panel, but I can't really figure out why. Now the problem is, how does one edit the templates after you've saved them off to your library or wherever.

Hi guys, There's a funny little expression workaround for scale to be added to a template, the idea originally is from Jarle Leirpoll of premierepro.net On whatever element you want to scale, copy and paste this expression to the scale: Scale = parseFloat(thisComp.layer("[Scale]").text.sourceText); [Scale,Scale] Then make a text layer, call it [Scale] or whatever you want, just make sure the layer name is changed in the expression above. Type in the # you want for scale in the source text of that text layer and it will scale to whatever you want. Just click the 'hide layer' button and drag the source text of the scale layer into the Essential Graphics panel and then you'll have a scale function available to you! Cheers!

Neil, I ended up going into modify>captions>interpret footage and changed the pixel aspect ration from NTSC (.9091) to NTSC Widescreen (1.2121) and that did the trick to get the captions exported properly. Thank you for taking the time to help me out today! *steve

Neil, Yes, it's 480... but the strange thing is, all it is, is a text file. Seems like if I had a project open that was 1080, then it would be 1080 when it got imported. Also strange is that the captions display correctly on screen within the project, they just get messed up after exporting. *steve
